«Conformidad» is a very old institution in the Spanish criminal procedure system, since it dates back to the 19th century. In recent decades it has experienced a notable increase in its application as a negotiated criminal justice mechanism, as a result of several modifications in the Law of Criminal Procedure that have sought to introduce more space for negotiation in said figure and encourage its use. However, as an unwanted effect, such modifications have made the already convoluted regulation of said institute more complex, which makes it difficult to understand its physiognomy. This paper examines the current state of «conformidad» in the Spanish Criminal Procedure Law. Its scope of application, its requirements, its content, its processing and its effects are reviewed in the ordinary procedure, in the abbreviated procedure and in the fast procedure. A critical analysis of «con...

This paper describes and explains the linguistic adaptation of Peruvian migrants who have resided and are currently residing in the Spanish cities of Madrid and Guadalajara; the fact of residing for an extended period of time, more than two years, has influenced in the incorporation of peninsular Spanish expressions to their own idiolect, which leads to the use of their own dialect, Limean, in certain spaces as a referent of their own cultural identity. For the elaboration of this article nine interviews were conducted in order to obtain the testimonies upon which this analysis was based, determining that the Peruvian migrant has gone through the process of convergence, which implied a forced linguistic adaptation, in the social and work environment, due to society's pressure.

This paper is intended to give a synchronic description of the phonological processes suffered by the occlusive segments in coda position at the inner part of the word in the Spanish of Lima. In addition, the descriptive part of the research will be supported by acoustic data that may be evidenced throughout the work. For this purpose the Praat program was used (acoustic analysis). On the other hand, the contrast between the onset and syllabic coda is evidenced from the types ofprocesses that affect each of these positions; for example, the onsets tend to be modified by reinforcement phenomena, while the syllabic codas are modified by weakening processes. Precisely, the purpose ofthis work is to give account of these weakening processes affecting the occlusive segments in syllabic coda. Likewise, for the explanatory part of this paper, the non-linear generative phonology will be used as ...

The province of Yucatan has been often described as a Spanish empire’s periphery, not only because of its farness from the Courts (of Mexico and Spain), but also because of its conquest’s incompleteness, since extensive territories remained out of the colonial control for centuries. However, in the sixteenth century the Defensores (or advocates) of the Indians, as well as the Procuradores (or representatives) of the local Spanish towns maintained a close relationship with both the Mexican Court and the Council of the Indies. This article examines those actors’ travels, as well as the circulation of the documents they produced in order to determine the differential impact of those two factors on the production of imperial law. Special attention will be paid to the strategies aimed at interfering with the free circ...

The Spanish Constitution was adopted in 1978. It contains some articles related to migration issues. According to article 13.1, aliens shall enjoy the rights guaranteed by the Constitution under the terms to be laid down by treaties and the Spanish law. Article 13 refers also to the question of extradition and to the possibility of seeking asylum in Spain. This work aims to determine the scope of these provisions, taking into account both the Constitutional Court’s case law adopted to implement it, and the international obligations assumed by the State. Besides that, the analysis should consider, on the one side, that since the adoption of the Constitution, Spain is not a country of origin of migrants any more, but a country of destination. And, on the other side, the deep impact of the European integration process on migration Spanish law and policy.

This article presents the results of the first diagnostic stage of a project that aims to co-design a dynamic hypermedia device that assists in the process of writing scientific papers in Spanish. These processes are conceived as social practices linked to specific knowledge and, in this sense, the research is framed in the development of Mediatised Educational Practices. Specifically, it develops the main problems presented by 100 postgraduate students at an Argentinean university in scientific-academic literacy linked to the development of written, research, and digital communicative competence. The methodology follows a qualitative-quantitative approach for analyzing the answers obtained through the questionnaire instrument. The results show that the main problem is the presentation and organization of the information; the lack of academic/specific vocabulary as well as difficulties i...

According to the indigenous population of the Peruvian Amazon, the 20th century constituded a period of great changes. Jn the first decades, important events took place during the rubber period; in the following decades, and as a consequence of the previous events, the indigenous populations began to migrate and have contact with foreign populations. Halfway into the last century, the ashaninka population from High Perene (Chanchamayo-Junin) went through several changes, such as social, economic, and linguistic. Linguisticly, there was competition between Ashaninka-Spanish bilinguism and Ashaninka monolinguism. Jn the 70s and with the beginning of native communities (CCNN), schools were built, institutions of the official system of education, in which new methods were applied. Is in this context that written Spanish becomes a new activity assumed by the ashaninka population.

In this article, we work with the category of reanalysis to shed light on a series of changes in the history of the Spanish language, and thereby to overcome the mere description level with the purpose of achieving the core goal of Science: theoretical explanation. In order to accomplish our mission, we base our work on the framework drawn up by Langacker (1977). The theoretical Langackerian framework sets a clear concept of reanalysis and produces a clear distinction of their types, causes, and effects. Firstly, we will make a concise presentation of Langacker’s notions, above all, those regarding to the types of reanalysis. Then we will focus on some diachronic processes of the Spanish language that can be clarified in terms of the Langackerian category. Finally, we will expose some corollaries resulting from this framework to underpin a cognitiveview of linguistic change.

Quechua is a structurally different language and, apparently, does not share typological properties with the Spanish language1. This article offers observations on some linguistic processes that have been occurring as a consequence of the long coexistence of these systems. Specifically, these are cases of Quechua influence in the lexical repertoire of Spanish. In some cases such influence is evident structurally and semantically; In others, some special attention and even some analysis is required to reach the conclusion of the existence of said relationship. Even though it can be said intuitively that the influence is greater in the Spanish➔ Quechua2 direction, the latter has not been a totally passive recipient of the Spanish influence, since there are examples that show the active role of the Quechua system influencing the Spanish system. The Quechua influence on the Spanish languag...

In this paper, we present a study about the process of convergency and divergency in the dialect contact. The pluralization of haber is very widespread in the Spanish of the Dominican Republic, but it is almost non-existent in Madrid. The analysis of these varieties is useful in order to observe and explain the process of international dialect contact. The importance of the study of non-variation within the linguistic of migration is point out. The results of the research highlight two main features: a) Madrilenian variety prestige does not influence some linguistic variables among Dominicans in Madrid; b) the perception and frequency of the variable impacts the process of convergence and divergence of the speakers.

The massive use of social networks and the anonymity that this provides has made possible not only the immediate communication between users, but also the spread of hate speech against certain groups of our society in the form of offensive messages to them, this has led to a serious social problem, which remains a topic of current research along with NLP. The purpose of the present work is to make a comparison of our "HateCheck" recognition model against the author's results, using the same database as them. To do so, we will make use of the main metrics such as: precision, recall and F1.

The European university reform process requires a new approach into the relationship between faculty and students. This paper analyzes how the Spanish university context has demanded adaptations for the faculty’s role in the presence of new technologies, identifying the relevance of virtual tutoring as an opportunity to understand another meaning of the teaching and learning process. From a qualitative standpoint, the topic of study is addressed in order to characterize the Spanish university context and virtual tutoring. The faculty’s training need is identified beyond promoting academic research, in addition to proposing a new classification of virtual tutoring based on five levels. Finally, Bologna centers its attention on the student; however, the practices established before the reform are still ongoing. Virtual tutoring, together with the motivational factor, constitutes one of...
