The analysis of binary conceptual systems includes "man and woman" as paradigms of opposite categories. In many cultures, the use of the categories "woman and man", to facilitate thinking, seems to be part of an ordering system in which women are placed on the less valued and inferred side of the opposition. Thus, some authors have suggested that women are to men, what nature is to culture. Others have drawn attention to the way in which the left or right hand is used to express gender differences, in the words of Evans Pritchard, "a slight organic asymmetry becomes a symbol of an absolute moral polarity" (1973).

Chirikyacu, Chunchiwi, and Chirik Sacha, located in the San Martin region (Peru), are indigenous communities affiliated with the National Program of Forest Conservation for Climate Change Mitigation. The three communities approved the implementation of the Conditional Direct Transfer Mechanism (TDC, acronym in Spanish) as a financial tool for primary forest conservation. The present article proposes an epistemological analysis of the ideological position Mercedes Cabello de Carbonera offers about the social binomial man/woman developed in her academic articles and in her narrative production. We postulate that the Peruvian writer supports her liberal society agenda based on the roles men and women must play to become the answer to the problems Peru confronted at the end of the XIX century. To do so, we have applied the Theory of Complementarity of Sexes, taking into account Cabello´s ideological thinking and her naturalistic approach, to the protagonists of Cabello’s two last novels, El Conspirador and Blanca Sol; both figures represent the ideal couple towards Peru in the XX century.

Resulta inevitable cuestionar en general las intenciones de la enseñanza de Ciencias Naturales, a juzgar por los pocos estudios que rinden cuentas del resultado que la enseñanza de "ciencia occidental" tiene en niños con trasfondo tradicional. Estando íntimamente relacionada con fenómenos de modernización y de transformación social, la enseñanza de ciencias naturales —sobre todo en países con tradiciones culturales marcadamente rurales, verbigracia no occidentales— nos plantea algunos problemas: ¿En qué medida funge ella de vehículo para influencias transculturales? ¿Cómo manejar en esta enseñanza aquellos elementos que son propios de una cultura y se contraponen al tipo accidental de racionalidad?

Traditionally, environmental regulation has focused on compliance with environmental management standards. Consequently, a neglect of its raison d'être has been generated: the protection of the fundamental right to a healthy environment. This has created the difficulty of assembling the protection of human rights with social responsibility policies and strategies. The purpose of this article is to show the complementarity that occurs in the romantic literary criticism between Ricardo Palma and Cesar Vallejo, two of the most important and studied Peruvian writers, being both part of the Romanticism, the first one in a fully developed way, and the second one in the last years of this movement; therefore, in different times, circumstances and particularities, but in the same interest of valuing romantic writers, we include Arnaldo Márquez, Luis Benjamín Cisneros and Carlos Augusto Salaverry, members of Palma’s bohemian group. We resort to the method of complexity, within this, the mobilization of the category of intertextuality, and the epistemological validity of the literary criticism made by both writers to find the objective evaluations, which is the purpose of this task.

In 2024, the Peruvian Civil Code turns 40 years since its promulgation in 1984, while the UNIDROIT Principles has its 30th anniversary since their first edition in 1994. Given this, which party should we attend? This essay proposes a look at the Peruvian Civil Code from the perspective of international trade to propose improvements. To this end, the provisions of the UNIDROIT Principles that regulate contractual interpretation, obligations of best efforts and results, penalty clause and force majeure, are taken as reference. These will be compared with the provisions of the Peruvian Civil Code, to identify possible areas of improvement in domestic law, taking the UNIDROIT Principles as a guide.

Neste artigo fazemos um esforço teórico para enfatizar a complementaridade do reducionismo e do enfoque sistêmica. Bem, a tradição científica por muito tempo acreditou que para entender algo a melhor maneira era dividindo-a, ou seja, separar suas partes para determinar como funcionam e a partir daí obter conclusões dos fatos observados. No entanto, a abordagem sistêmica é uma forma de entender relacionamentos e contextos que, claro, está interessado nas partes, mas principalmente em termos de como elas dão origem e mantêm na existência uma nova entidade que é o todo. Portanto, ambas as abordagens são complementares.

This work investigates the Feasible Direction Algorithm using interior points applied to the Mixed Nonlinear Complementarity Problem and some applications. This algorithm is based in Feasible Directions Algorithm for Nonlinear Complementarity Problem, which is described briefly. The proposed algorithm is important because many mathematical models can be written as mixed nonlinear complementarity problem. The principal idea of this algorithm is to generate, at each iteration, a sequence of feasible directions with respect to the region, defined by the inequality conditions, which are also monotonic descent directions for one potential function. Este trabajo muestra evidencia sobre la complementariedad en la infraestructura y la magnitud de sus impactos en los indicadores sociales de hogares peruanos (nivel de ingresos, los gastos y la capacidad de ahorro). Con el fin de probar la hipótesis, se evalúa el impacto para tener acceso a cada uno de los servicios básicos en las variables que reflejan las condiciones de los hogares peruanos.
