When flooding occurs, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery is often used to identify flood extent and the affected buildings for two reasons: (i) for early disaster response, such as rescue operations, and (ii) for flood risk analysis. Furthermore, the application of machine learning has been valuable for the identification of damaged buildings. However, the performance of machine learning depends on the number and quality of training data, which is scarce in the aftermath of a large scale disaster. To address this issue, we propose the use of fragmentary but reliable news media photographs at the time of a disaster and use them to detect the whole extent of the flooded buildings. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar los factores psicosociales y los hábitos asociados con la dispepsia funcional (DF) en médicos internos en el hospital de apoyo Sullana-Piura II-2. Métodos: Este fue un estudio longitudinal prospectivo de 24 médicos internos que respondieron cinco encuestas: una encuesta de línea de base antes de comenzar sus pasantías médicas y otra encuesta al final de cada rotación. In an international scenario of political crisis, and with democracies weakened by the impact of populism and disinformation, the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 provides a new scenario for the reactivation of war propaganda strategies. This article analyzes the digital discourse of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram—a messaging network that favors one-way communication, immediacy, and access to communities of followers—in terms of war propaganda during the first year of the conflict, focusing on variables such as propaganda functions and techniques, the representation of the leader and the enemy, or the use of national symbols. Objective: To identify the associated factors and assess the inequalities of full vaccination coverage (FVC) among Peruvian infants aged 12–23 months during the COVID-19 pandemic in a nationally representative sample. Methods: We carried out a population-based cross-sectional study based on a secondary data analysis using the 2021 Peruvian Demographic Health Survey (DHS) in infants aged 12 to 23 months. Media are supposed to pay special attention to the traditional journalistic ethical norms in the cases of media coverage of bullying in schools (Olweus, 1998; Mason, 2008), insofar as these combine childhood, violence and, in some unfortunate cases, suicide (Herrera et al., 2015). Even if mass media have traditionally avoided these kind of coverage, giving rise to an informative silence that answers to its concern about a possible “imitation effect” (Philips, 1974), it is a fact that the topic has gained attention in the media sphere, probably due a growing public and social interest towards the bullying problem. Virtual assistants are used to complement user navigation and experience through e-commerce platforms and online services. Several studies show that customer experience is significantly improved when virtual assistants exhibit human-like attention and provide personalized recommendations tailored to individual preferences and needs. To achieve this, the assistant can make use of Natural Language Processing, which enables understanding of human language along with responses. This study develops a virtual assistant focused on conversational AI which is implemented in a poultry retail’s website to improve customer experience. En esta investigación se propone un nuevo modelo de regresión a la media, para variables independiente fraccionarias usando enlaces asimétricos, estas variables toman valores continuos en el intervalo abierto (0,1) e inclusive tomando los valores extremos 0 y 1, estas variables podrían ser proporciones, tasas, ratios, etc. Para el desarrollo de la tesis, tomamos como base la investigación desarrollada por (Bayes & Valdivieso, 2016), la cual ajusta el conjunto de ecuaciones para el rango (0,1) y los extremos 0 y 1 en un solo proceso de estimación a la media, por lo cual puede ser trabajado con funciones de enlace arbitrarios. This paper analyzes the information treatment of the Mapuche people in the newspaper El Mercurio during two periods. First, between 1950 and 1973 (twentieth century); and second, during the years 2010, 2013 and 2014, (21st century). To this end, a corpus of 340 journalistic texts has been selected, of which 147 correspond to the 20th century (1950-1970) and 193, to the 21st century (2010, 2013-2014). The analysis shows that most of the frames are linked to conflicts, criminal prosecutions and arson attacks; so that El Mercurio prioritizes connotations and negative events to inform about the Mapuche indigenous people.
