This article describes the procedure for implementing a graphical user interface using the App Designer development environment and the Signal Processing Toolbox of Matlab software, to reinforce the teaching of analysis in the domain of time and frequency of periodic and typical signals used in the subject Digital Signal Processing, which belongs to the Electronic Engineering Program of the Ricardo Palma University, Lima, Peru. We have built an integrated system of sensors for organoleptic characterization of a liquor distilled from grapes called pisco analyzing its liquid phase in an electrochemical cell, in addition is analyzed its gas phase in a small chamber with the gas sensors. We have designed an electronic nose with 4 gas sensor with different characteristics (Figaro Inc.) and an electronic tongue based on an electrochemical cell with two electrodes of stainless steel with Pt and Au, respectively. The system is composed mainly of gas sensors, actuators valves, liquid and gas pumps that are governed by the P1C18F4523 microcontroller which also are responsible for sending data to the computer. El presente trabajo realizó una comparación económica entre dos procesos de licuefacción de gas natural: el primero llamado Preenfriamiento con propano y refrigerante mixto (C3MR), el cual es el proceso más utilizado en el mundo por las plantas de licuefacción de gas natural de gran capacidad; y el segundo denominado proceso Cascada con fluidos mixtos (MFC), el cual es relativamente nuevo pero eficiente energéticamente. Ambos procesos fueron modelados en Aspen Hysys bajo las mismas condiciones de operación y luego optimizados en MATLAB usando el algoritmo genético. Las funciones-objetivo usadas en la optimización fueron: el costo de capital total (CAPEX), los costos operativos (OPEX) y el costo anual de la planta (TAC).

La investigación realizada a los sistemas de seguridad electrónica de edificios, plantea como objetivo principal el reconocimiento de tres gestos de un lenguaje corporal del personal de vigilancia, y la consecuente activación de alarma en forma automática. This paper proposes a procedure to minimize electrical losses present in industrial systems, through a specific program developed for this purpose, based on Genetic Algorithm, and written using MATLAB instructions.The minimization is realized with the placement of shunt capacitors connected to the buses. For validation of the proposed method, it is considered accuracy and speed, and the developed program´s results are compared with the results produced by traditional programs. The program avoids leading power factor at the bus connected with the power distribution company and the user may determine buses where he does not want the installation of capacitors. The Genetic Algorithm's fitness, responsible for guiding the optimization process, is the active power loss. Finally, the program is applied to minimize active losses present at an industrial system, 38 buses.

En esta Tesis se analizan todas las etapas del proceso de fumigación, que se utiliza para tratar frutas y verduras eliminando plagas antes de venderlas o importarlas. El objetivo principal es diseñar un sistema de automatización mediante técnicas modernas de control para el proceso de fumigación con el Bromuro de Metilo (BM) en la agroindustria. Los resultados se estiman mediante simulaciones realizadas en los programas MATLAB, Labview y COMSOL multiphysics. Biological models for cardiac regeneration and remodeling, along with the effects of cytokines or chemokines during the therapy with mesenchymal stem cells after a myocardial infarction, are of crucial importance for understanding the complex underlying mechanisms. This paper presents a mathematical model composed of three coupled partial differential equations that describes the dynamics of stem cells, nutrients and chemokines, highlighting the fundamental role of the chemokines during the myocardial tissue regeneration process. The system is solved numerically using mimetic difference operators and the MOLE library for MATLAB. The results show the tissue regeneration process in the necrotic part closest to the cell implantation area.
