The purpose of this paper is to put forward a hypothesis about the “philological translation” of literary texts of increased complexity and test it on the material of specific works. Based on the material of Russian and foreign translation studies, this paper formulates the concept of “philological translation” in the appendix to a specific publishing project within the series “Literary monuments” published by the Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and considers the most important practical aspects of the problem of adequate translation of literary texts of increased complexity. The analysis of the translation of two works by the representative of the French New Novel Claude Simon illustrates clearly the example of a “philological translation”. In the course of the study, the authors came to the conclusion that a philological translation imp...

Any compendium of linguistic expression that is passed into writing is faced with the kind of problem that is related to its oral nature since this cannot be verified in the same manner, also there is the problem of the constantly changing nature of such expression. As well as the problem of oral speech there is another that has to do with the translation and even the very possibility of translation, something that is very clear when one looks at texts written in Quechua for example. When the translators manipulate a story ideologically they not only alter the system of the original language but even its basic symbols and sometimes they even end up repressing the Quechua text in its direct forms of representation and finally lose sight of a cosmovision that they will find difficult to recover.

The purpose of this study was to translate the Bedtime Procrastination Scale (BPS) into Spanish and to evaluate its psychometric properties. A sample of 419 students from three Peruvian universities participated in the study. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to evaluate the original model of the scale, which initially showed poor fit indices. Improved fit indices were obtained after removing reverse-scored item, χ²(5) = 9.240, CFI = .998, RMSEA = .045, TLI = .997, and SRMR = .013. The internal consistency of the scale, examined using the omega coefficient, was found to be satisfactory (ω = .86). Moreover, measurement invariance analysis supported gender invariance, indicating that the scale functions equivalently across male and female participants. Additionally, convergent validity was assessed by examining the correlations between the BPS and insomnia, as measured by the A...

Objective: To adapt the Problem Internet Use Questionnaire (PIUQ) for its utilization in Peru. Material and Methods: The translation and cultural adaptation of the PIUQ followed a systematic process that involved direct translation, evaluation and judgment by expert committees and back-translation, culminating with the final approval by the scale creators. For each of the 18 items, a first group of experts assessed comprehensibility, acceptability, relevance and quality of the response set in the preliminary version; subsequently, a second group of experts, evaluated clarity, relevance and pertinence in the final version. Aiken’s V was calculated for each of the different features evaluated in the 18 items. Results: In the preliminary version, Aiken’s V had low values for the comprehensibility of items 1, 3, 4, 6 and 16, and for the response set of item 4. The analysis of the first e...

As of the publication of the Law on Indigenous Languages (Law 29735), the use of native languages in any public and private space has become more relevant in Peru. The proof of this are television projects that include languages other than Spanish; even the creators of this content demonstrate a position in favor of the diffusion of the native languages and their culture. The objective of this article is to analyze the translation work performed by the interpreters of the micronoticist Letras TV Willakun to evaluate it as a case of language activism in favor of theQuechua language and culture. The work concludes that, after interviewing the interpreters and part of the program’s audience, this is a case of important developing activism in the university environment, despite its difficulties in the translation process.

The sustainable investment has gained significant global relevance, driven by the implications of climate change and environmental devastation caused by excessive exploitation of non-renewable natural resources. This growing concern has motivated companies to increasingly commit to sustainability, impacting both their Corporate Social Responsibility practices and the formulation of government policies. This commitment translated into a growing demand for sustainable investments, aiming to make a positive impact on the environment and society. The primary goal of this article was to analyze the long-term impact of sustainable investments on project profitability. To achieve this, a comprehensive systematic literature review was conducted, encompassing relevant information, existing theories, previous research, and pertinent data. The results indicated that sustainable investments could ha...

The fight against base erosion and profit shifting has been pointed out by the OECD as a problem that requires a coordinated response among the various jurisdictions around the world. As a proposed solution, the OECD has promoted the Multilateral Convention, as the instrument that collects the BEPS Action Plan reports. However, its incorporation requires profound reflections on the relationship between this instrument and our treaties and its impact on domestic legislation, due to the complexity that comes with the addition of a third law layer. The concept of permanent establishment of the Multilateral Instrument is one of the issues that requires such analysis. Providing interpretative content to this concept can be determinant to establishing the power to impose of various jurisdictions that are part of the Multilateral Instrument, which will translate into the success or failure of O...

This research uses the Actor-Network Theory toolbox to open the black box behind the Pasco’s Proyecto Integral de Agua Potable Project collapse, an ambitious public infrastructural intervention caused by both local pollution conditions and the lack of water resources. We worked with a qualitative methodology focused on process tracing through the analysis of multi-sited narratives about humans and non-humans. Non-participant observation, documentary analysis, and anonymous semi-structured interviews with fourteen spokespersons of the project were used. The results suggest that the project collapse was caused by the fragility of the alliance system since the spokespersons were unable to centralize the management of the Local Implementation Network or translate the sociotechnical controversies around water, given its multidimensional nature.

The article proposes a new methodology, the three-perspective approach, for the classification of photographs in archives. It is based on the intersection of visual economy and mass communication theory. This approach understands the archive as a relational phenomenon, where images participate in networks of meaning and power. The three perspectives are the sender and production, the image and circulation, and the audience and consumption, all framed within a specific space/time. The methodology is applied to the case study of the TAFOS project collection, active between 1986 and 1998. The approach allows for multiple classifications according to the version of the archive, and opens new ways to explore its communicative and expressive potential. The proposal seeks to strengthen the continuity of photographic archives as living agents decentered from library logic, promoting discursive d...
