This study addressed the need to improve the ergonomic conditions of school furniture in early childhood education, considering its impact on children’s posture, safety, and concentration. The objective was to design, manufacture, and validate an ergonomic educational module (desk and chair) for students aged 3 to 5, using digital manufacturing tools. An experimental approach was applied across five phases: collection of anthropometric data, CAD modeling, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), technical assembly, and structural, ergonomic, and pedagogical validation. The design adhered to international standards (ISO 5970, UNE-EN 1729-2, ISO 7174-1) and guidelines from the Peruvian Ministry of Education (MINEDU). This paper deals with the automation of psychological assessments to help to select the right candidate for the organization during the recruitment process on a human resources consulting firm. The solution was developed with Kanban Method and cloud computing, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), where it was integrated and launched with other services to improve security and operativity. Experiments were divided into functionalities: (1) an interface for mobile phones and (2) notifying recruiter by SMS and Email when candidate finalize the tests. The results show improved recruiter response time to analyze test results and prepare psychological reports in two and a half months. The recruiter's performance increased by up to 5% in person-hours.

In this paper, a three-dimensional numerical solution for the bending study of laminated composite doubly-curved shells is presented. The partial differential equations are solved analytically by the Navier summation for the midsurface variables; this method is only valid for shells with constant curvature where boundary conditions are considered simply supported. The partial differential equations present different coefficients, which depend on the thickness coordinates. A semi-analytical solution and the so-called Differential Quadrature Method are used to calculate an approximated derivative of a certain function by a weighted summation of the function evaluated in a certain grin domain. The present study proposes a method of automatic detection of tuberculosis (TB) bacilli from digital images of Ziehl Neelsen sputum smear baciloscopy. The method is based on an algorithm that aims to automate the interpretation of optical microscopic images of sputum smears. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a specialist can not analyze and process more than 20 samples per day (in order to not affect the analysis sensitivity and commit errors in diagnosis). Natural Language Processing deals with the understanding and generation of texts through computer programs. There are many different functionalities used in this area, but among them there are some functions that are the support of the remaining ones. These methods are related to the core processing of the morphology of the language (such as lemmatization) and automatic identification of the part-of-speech tag. Thereby, this paper describes the implementation of a basic NLP toolkit for a new language, focusing in the features mentioned before, and testing them in an own corpus built for the occasion. The obtained results exceeded the expected results and could be used for more complex tasks such as machine translation.

Positive Youth Development (PYD) is an approach that promotes resilience and focuses on youth strengths rather than their weaknesses as done by the traditional deficit-based perspective. Research in Europe and North America show that developmental assets are associated with school success, psychological well-being, and lower health risks among youth and young adults. However, not much research has been done on these associations in Latin American contexts. The purpose of this research study is to assess the association between substance use behaviors, such as drunkenness and the use of illicit drugs, and mental health, together with the mediating role of developmental assets representing youth strengths (e.g., social competence) and contextual resources (e.g., social support at home or school). Primal or dual strong-duality (or min-sup, inf-max duality) in nonconvex optimization is revisited in view of recent literature on the subject, establishing, in particular, new characterizations for the second case. This gives rise to a new class of quasiconvex problems having zero duality gap or closedness of images of vector mappings associated to those problems. Such conditions are described for the classes of linear fractional functions and that of quadratic ones. In addition, some applications to nonconvex quadratic optimization problems under a single inequality or equality constraint, are presented, providing new results for the fulfillment of zero duality gap or dual strong-duality.

El presente trabajo describe el diseño y desarrollo de una cabina fructificadora automatizada destinada al cultivo del hongo comestible Hericium erinaceus (Melena de León). El sistema integra módulos de control ambiental capaces de regular la temperatura y humedad relativa mediante estrategias de control independientes, permitiendo al usuario establecer valores de operación entre 20 °C y 28 °C para la temperatura y entre 80 % y 95 % para la humedad. Este proyecto se orientó al diseño e implementación de un sistema automatizado destinado a clasificar y recolectar granos de quinua en condiciones de laboratorio. Para ello se tomaron como criterios de diferenciación tanto el color (blanco, rojo y negro) como el tamaño (pequeño, mediano y grande). La propuesta surgió como alternativa al procedimiento manual tradicional, el cual suele generar resultados poco confiables debido a su carácter subjetivo, la lentitud del proceso y las limitaciones en precisión. Methylmercury (MeHg+) is a mercury species that is very toxic for humans, and its monitoring and sorption from environmental samples of water are a public health concern. In this work, a combination of theory and experiment was used to rationally synthesize an ion-imprinted polymer (IIP) with the aim of the extraction of MeHg+ from samples of water. Interactions among MeHg+ and possible reaction components in the pre-polymerization stage were studied by computational simulation using density functional theory. Accordingly, 2-mercaptobenzimidazole (MBI) and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT), acrylic acid (AA) and ethanol were predicted as excellent sulfhydryl ligands, a functional monomer and porogenic solvent, respectively. The purpose of this work was to analyze the working memory like a cognitive model envolved in lexical tasks and individual differentiation on capacity of Reading. The subjects were 163 students of public and particular schools. In this study we elaborated a new “reading span test” agreement with suggestions from Daneman and Carpenter (1980), adapted to children students. That instrument was correlated with the subtest of Number from WISC, inverted form. The validity assessment between both tests was made with Spearman’s coefficient of correlation. The consequence of that assessment showed rRHO = 0,47; it should prove both tests contain the function of processing (or computation) proper of the working memorysystem. Then, that “reading span test” is an adequate instrument to measure individual differences about capacity of reading only in similar subjects like those we studied.
