Spermidine is a polyamine compound found in fruits, vegetables, meats and milk products. It is also known for its role as a modulator of functions for DNA, RNA, nucleotide triphosphates and proteins. Some recent experimental studies have shown that it has an inhibitory function on the protein related to the pathogenesis of myotonic dystrophy type 1 (MBNL‐1), providing some hope in relation to this disease presently without cure. However these studies have not provided sufficient information to explain its inhibitory role. In the present work, the existing interaction between spermidine and the MBNL‐1 protein has been confirmed by computational chemistry. Gaussian processes that can be decomposed into a smooth mean function and a stationary autocorrelated noise process are considered and a fully automatic nonparametric method to simultaneous estimation of mean and auto-covariance functions of such processes is developed. The proposed empirical Bayes approach is data-driven, numerically efficient, and allows for the construction of confidence sets for the mean function. Performance is demonstrated in simulations and real data analysis. The method is implemented in the R package eBsc.

The need to develop a BCI brain- computer interface system for the control of a robotic arm in Peru arises from the possibility of interconnecting the human nervous system with a robotic or mechatronic system, and using this concept to recover some motor function. Brain Computer Interface (BCI) is a communication system based on the recording of brain signals (EEG). The electroencephalogram is the basis and support of the BCI technology. It is a novel technology that allows human-machine interaction in a virtual or physical environment, through a communication channel between the central nervous system and a robotic device. In recent years, the aforementioned systems have caused the interest of important research centers worldwide.

Purpose: The aim of this article is to establish a theoretical-methodological proposal to study discursive interactivity from a multidisciplinary perspective different from the traditional structural and quantitative media research. The sociological definition of interaction and the basis of discourse analysis –as a theoretical discipline and scientific method– are assumed to propose a concept of interactivity that addresses the double materiality of the term: as a structure and a process. The influence of family and school on the level of independence of pre-school children is a fundamental aspect of integral development in early ages. This study has a quantitative descriptive approach. The aim of this study was to know the degree of Functional Independence in pre-school children in Cuenca (Ecuador). The participants were 30 children (3-5 years old), 15 from a public institution and 15 from a private one. The Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory Computer Adaptive Test (PEDICAT) was used as an evaluation tool, which measures the level of independence in 4 areas. The objective of this article is to identify the results of the functionality of the learning platform and its effect on the satisfaction of mechanical and electrical engineering students. The results will serve as a basis for the continuous improvement of teaching-learning online from the higher institution. The research findings indicate that the indicators that present a better perception regarding the functionality of the learning platform are related to the design and ease of navigation. However, 21.4% of the students are not entirely satisfied with its functionality due to the technical problems presented when downloading the study material. En el presente trabajo de investigación se han analizado y obtenido la energía total y las propiedades electrónicas (el parámetro de red, el momento magnético, el módulo de compresibilidad, la densidad de estados y las bandas de energía) de las diferentes fases del sistema Fierro-Vanadio (Fe-V), en la estructura cúbica de cuerpo centrado (BCC), obtenidos con el método ab-initio o de primeros principios llamado Full-Potential Linearized Augmented Plane Wave (FP-LAPW) en la versión del código computacional WIEN2k-10; el cual es un método que está basado en la Teoría Funcional de la Densidad y que utiliza como aproximación para la base de los orbitales las ondas planas aumentadas linearizadas. The goal of this research is to develop a quantum sampler for Seq2Seq models, and give evidence that Quantum Annealing (QA) can guide the search space of these samplers. The contribution of this work is given by showing an architecture to represent Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) in a quantum computer to finally develop a quantum sampler. The individual architectures (i.e. summation, multiplication, argmax, and activation functions) achieve optimal accuracies in both simulated and quantum environments. While the results of the overall proposal show that it can either outperform or match greedy approaches.
