This research aimed to compare the internalizing (anxiety and depression) and externalizing (hyperactivity) symptoms of Caraquenian children based on the level of food insecurity reported by their parents. A simple retrospective design was proposed with a sample of 200 children, aged between eight and twelve, and their representatives, in charge of reporting the food insecurity levels in their homes and the symptoms of perceived hyperactivity in their children. For the analysis of results, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney´s U technique was used to compare anxiety, depressive and hyperactive symptoms based on high and low levels of food insecurity. Results suggest moderate conditions of food insecurity in the households. Furthermore, regarding the set of internalizing symptoms evaluated, it was found that households with greater food insecurity tend to have children with greater manifesta...

Universities have become brands that use Instagram to attract potential students and generate a sense of community among actual members. This study aims to compare how the best-positioned universities in the world and in Spain, according to the Shanghai ranking, use Instagram as a communication channel. To do this, a mixed descriptive exploratory analysis is chosen, combining qualitative variables, format, discursive intention and function of the visual element; and quantitative, interactions and engagement, to analyze the posts from the first trimester of the 2021/2022 academic year (N = 820). The combined interpretation of both parameters after applying the ANOVA variance test has allowed us to formulate two preliminary publication models. The results reveal heterogeneity in the strategies followed, with differences in format, intention and function of the visual element, in addition t...

This paper presents a static analysis of functionally graded plates (FGPs) by using a new first shear deformation theory (FSDT). This theory contains only four unknowns, with is even less than the classical FSDT. In this paper a simply supported FG square sandwich plate is subjected to a bi-sinusoidal load. The governing equations for static bending analysis are derived by employing the principle of virtual works. These equations are then solved via Navier-type, closed form solutions. The accuracy of the present theory is ascertained by comparing it with various available solutions in the literature.

The purpose of this paper is to study the vibrational behavior of advanced composite plates by using a novel first shear deformation theory (FSDT). This theory contains only four unknowns, with is even less than the classical FSDT. The governing equations are derived by employing the Hamilton's principles and solved via Navier's solution. The present results were validiated by comparing it with the 3D, classical FSDT and other solutions available in the literature. Shear correction factor apper to be unfovarable in some cases (case dependent). Finally, authors recommend further study of this new manner to model the displacement field.

Intercultural communication is considered a progressively developing trend, both abroad and in modern Russia. The concept of Western research on this topic is interdisciplinary approaches this situation is conditioned by the need for a multilateral analysis of the processes taking place in this field. Attention is focused on studying the barriers to communication of representatives of many socio-cultural systems. The information reflects the experience of using Western methodology to analyze the problems of intercultural interaction. The main barriers that reduce the effectiveness of interactions are the differences in cognitive schemes that are relevant for representatives of certain cultures (in particular linguistic and non-verbal schemes, moments of public consciousness). The results of the study do not allow the dissemination of conclusions to an extremely broad social context. But ...

Paenibacillus polymyxa, a Gram-positive bacterium commonly found in soil and plant roots, plays an important role in the environment due to its nitrogen-fixing ability and is renowned for producing antibiotics like polymyxin. In this study, we present a robust framework for investigating the evolutionary and taxonomic connections of strains belonging to P. polymyxa available at the National Center for Biotechnology Information, as well as five new additional strains isolated at the University of Camerino (Italy), through pangenome analysis. These strains can produce secondary metabolites active against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Employing techniques such as digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH), average nucleotide identity (ANI) estimation, OrthoFinder, and ribosomal multilocus sequence typing, we consistently divided these P. polymyxa strains into four clusters, whi...

In the present reserch, two methods for the extraction of starch from seeds of Amaranthus quitensis L. (Ataco) were analyzed in order to determine the procedure with the best performance and then to determine its main physical-chemical and functional characteristics. Initially, the inflorescences of the Ataco plants were collected, where their seeds are found, to later extract them, dry them to the environment and finally reduce them to fine dust. Then, simultaneous extractions of the starch contained in the flour were carried out by testing with two independent methods; the first wet method with bidistilled water and the second with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH, 0.25 M); the starch extracted by both methods was washed and dried to the environment, to later calculate its yield, establishing that the highest yield is achieved with the method of extraction with NaOH soluti...

This paper presents a static analysis of functionally graded single and sandwich beams by using an efficient 7DOFs quasi-3D hybrid type theory. The governing equations are derived by employing the principle of virtual works in a weak form and solved by means of the Finite Element Method (FEM). A C1 cubic Hermite interpolation is used for the vertical deflection variables while C0 linear interpolation is employed for the other kinematics variables. Convergence rates are studied in order to validate the finite element technique. Numerical results of the present formulation are compared with analytical and FEM solutions available in the literature.

The closed-form solution of a generalized hybrid type quasi-3D higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) for the bending analysis of functionally graded shells is presented. From the generalized quasi-3D HSDT (which involves the shear strain functions “f(ζ)” and “g(ζ)” and therefore their parameters to be selected “m” and “n”, respectively), infinite six unknowns' hybrid shear deformation theories with thickness stretching effect included, can be derived and solved in a closed-from. The generalized governing equations are also “m” and “n” parameter dependent. Navier-type closed-form solution is obtained for functionally graded shells subjected to transverse load for simply supported boundary conditions. Numerical results of new optimized hybrid type quasi-3D HSDTs are compared with the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT), and other quasi-3D HSDTs. The...

The public space has recently become the protagonist of urban transformations, especially because it expresses the complexities of globalization. Therefore, urban agglomerates are currently contesting leadership spaces of different natures (financial, cultural, etc.). This situation turns cities and their governments into fertile ground to promote changes and also into scenarios in which all social contradictions are expressed. The present article analyzes the urban policies deployed by two districts of Metropolitan Lima: El Agustino and San Isidro. The districts to be studied were chosen by virtue of their different income levels: while San Isidro is one of the districts of Lima with the highest income, El Agustino is considered as a low-income district. Our analysis model offers criteria to examine in a comparative way the phenomenon of urban governance in two generally different distr...
