The present study was carried out at the confluence of the Baños, Minascocha and Quilla micro-basins; which belongs to the upper part of the Chancay-Huaral basin, in order to identify the areas of greatest vulnerability to high intensity rainfall phenomena (floods). For the modeling of this section, the flows obtained by means of the SWAT software were used. The flood simulation was carried out using the IBER V2.5 software, which is free software, which is used to simulate floods in shallow waters, that is, shallow waters. The files used were satellite images, DEM files, maximum flows. The Geographic Information Systems were also used: ArcGis 10.5, QGIS 3.8.2, SASPLANET, GLOBALMAPER. The mathematical basis was the two-dimensional equations of St. Venant, which incorporates the turbulence and friction of the flow. The results are shown in three strategic points at the exit of the headwat...

The aim of the following review is to describe the seasonal reproductive behavior in male and female ungulates, and identify the determinants of reproductive synchrony. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors that influence the reproductive seasonality of ungulates analyzed. Intrinsic factors are related to the same individual such as genotypic and phenotypic characteristics, and implies that the reproductive aspects can not be extrapolated between species and breeds, and are modified by the action of external factors such as photoperiod, availability of food, temperature, latitude, among others. Among these factors are identified primarily photoperiod and food availability. The photoperiod and food availability are the main signals that determine melatonin levels, and this modulates the reproductive function. Photoperiod is related to the intensity of light and darkness that animals are exposed...

Generating agricultural suitability analyses that are objective, consistent, and accessible through digital platforms remains a technical and methodological challenge, creating an information gap for certain stakeholders. To address this issue, we assessed the territorial suitability of the Cajamarca region for coffee and cocoa cultivation using 18 subcriteria grouped into climatic, edaphological, topographic, and socioeconomic categories. To reduce subjectivity and improve consistency in variable comparisons, we applied multicriteria evaluation techniques, including the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and Shannon entropy method. On the basis of the resulting weights, suitability models were generated using two approaches: one based on threshold reclassification and another using continuous suitability functions. Both approaches were validated using 3886 presence points for coffee and...

After centuries of abandonment of hydraulic management with canals in the Viru basin, there is an academic initiative to investigate the continuity and use of pre-Hispanic canals; The objective of this thesis is to specify the study of irrigation channels in Caray, their functionality and continuity in the Virú valley. The research is basic with a causal correlational non-experimental design, and we worked with two variables, making use of the empirical-analytical scientific method, and the ethnographic method, having as an important tool the direct observation of the architectural evidence, the work of collecting information with the irrigation commission and the population involved in the recovery and use of the canals. The methodology that was applied was divided into field work and office work. The field work was carried out by prospecting and traversing all the channels, making a d...

Ankistrodesmus falcatus strain UCP001 is a native oleaginous microalgae isolated from the Peruvian Amazon basin. In this study we sequenced, de novo assembled, and functionally annotated the complete mitochondrial genome of the native oleaginous microalgae Ankistrodesmus falcatus strain UCP001 (Accesion number MT701044). This mitogenome is a typical circular double stranded DNA molecule of 41,048 bp in total length with G + C content of 37.4%. The mitogenome contains 49 genes, including 18 protein coding genes, 5 ribosomal (rRNA) genes and 26 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes. A phylogenetic analysis of 18 microalgae species indicated that Ankistrodesmus falcatus strain UCP001 was closely related to Ourococcus multisporus and Raphidocelis subcapitata. The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Ankistrodesmus falcatus strain UCP001 enriches genomic resources of oleaginous native microalgae fro...

The present study was carried out between 2020 and 2021 in the Concession area of the Scientific University of Peru-UCP, in the upper basin of the Itaya river, in its Biotechnology and Bioenergetics laboratories and the Natural Resources Research Center of the Peruvian Amazon – CIRNA (UNAP) respectively. It should be noted that research on avian malaria indicates that some species of apicomplex parasites that cause this disease are invasive and are responsible for the loss of bird diversity worldwide. Control of these parasites has been limited, partly due to the lack of basic knowledge at the molecular level, since the genomic resources of these parasites are very limited. To help fill these knowledge gaps, the main objective of this research was to characterize the apicoplastic genome of Plasmodium sp. cause of avian malaria in the upper basin of the river Itaya Loreto Peru. To do th...
