Statistical competence is defined as the leader’s feature of character, which characterizes his willingness and ability to organize, to process and interpret information, needed to implement management processes. Statistical competence should be considered as a substructure of functional competence of the leader as it is shown in the article. The evaluation of indicators for the basic level of statistical competence for different categories of principles of educational institutions was carried out. It is shown that for managers with humanitarian and historical and science education the probability of distortion is not less than 20%. In addition, the criterion of signs justifies the lack of effect of improving test results on the basics of mathematical and statistical literacy in the transition from a group of leaders with humanitarian, scientific and natural education. At the same time...

Trauma has now become a pandemic with a severe social en economical impact upon society. High morbidity and mortality rates; and especially the high costs of frequent permanent sequels of trauma, put pressure on healthcare systems for facing this condition using a multidisciplinary approach, looking for minimizing damage using multiple strategies. In this respect, healthcare systems must be adequately organized as well as all the processes in order to achieve good outcomes when taking care of polytraumatized patients; consequently, healthcare teams must be adequately prepared, always looking for continuous training and updating with respect to initial management of these patients, since, according to many studies, mortality rates reach the highest values during the first hour after the event, and 25% of deceases occur because of an inadequate management.

Large-scale changes in the social and economic spheres of Russian society revealed the demands for managers with non-standard thinking and a high cultural level. Specific and ambiguous processes in politic, economic and social spheres in different parts of the world have general trends reflecting the evolution of global civilization. The highest demand in the field of education is for experienced teachers and administrators who are able to improve the system of education and upbringing, develop scenarios for managing the teaching and learning process, offer the personality-oriented trajectories for students, make an independent choice and fulfill corrective and diagnostic functions. The transformed socio-economic context led to positive changes in the field of professional e...

“The objective of the research was to evaluate the consistency of different training proposals, proposing as a reference a competency-based curriculum planning model. Qualitative methodology was used from an interpretive paradigm, making use of inductive and deductive analysis at the same time. Inductively, observations were generated through documentary analysis, interviews with experts, and a focus group with university professors, who then deductively derived interpretations and forecasts regarding curricular planning. As a result, it was obtained that the designed model, based on the triangulation of the information collected, allowed evaluating and determining the strengths and weaknesses of the priority elements of the university curriculum: the graduation profile, the study plan and the evaluation system. The main conclusion was that it is necessary to have clear parameters for ...

This paper analyzes the potential benefits of including value-added services content as a means of diversifying translation training curricula. ‘Value-added service’ is a term used in the language industry (EN 15038, 2006; ISO 17100, 2015) to refer to an open catalogue of differentiated language services offered by Language Service Providers (LSP). Such services require the exercise of basic core translation and intercultural skills but also entail differences when compared to more general, conventional translation tasks. Differentiation factors include specific technological input and different processes, formats and managerial frameworks, each of which require specific skills from the language professional. From a situational perspective (Calvo, 2015; González-Davies y Enríquez-Raído, 2016; Risku, 2002, 2009, 2016; Vienne, 1994), this paper reviews different approaches to the us...

“Initial teacher training is recognized as one of the fundamental factors to improve the quality of educational processes in the classroom, therefore, it is relevant to ensure that future teachers acquire the disciplinary and pedagogical skills necessary for the exercise of a teaching practice appropriate to the diversity. In this sense, the purpose of this study was to analyze the curricular alignment process of the Initial Teacher Training (FID) curriculum for primary education in the training proposal of an Institute of Higher Pedagogical Education. The approach that is assumed is qualitative with a phenomenological design, which allows the description and interpretation of the incorporation and approach of the National Basic Curriculum Design (DCBN) of the FID in the levels and processes of management through documentary analysis and interviews that collect the experiences of the p...

Benchmarking is “the systematic process of investigating, identifying, comparing and learning from the best practices of other organizations, whether they are in the same sector or not. Orderly analyzing the set of factors that affect their success, learning from their achievements and applying them in our own improvement processes” (Manene, 2011). This methodological proposal has been applied in the present study. A SWOT analysis has been carried out and then internal/external improvement differences have been sought based on comparative evaluations that focus on the weak points found to proceed to possible areas forimprovement. Allthis, within theframework of the internship in“training in research management” (UNDAC, 2017). This academic experience has been carried out from August 28 to September 01, 2017 at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional de Bogotá - Colombia. In this ev...
