In this study, the learning processes of the concepts of the probability topic are based on the use and simulation of the micro world tools by the learning actors, who demonstrated creativity, selection of the objects visible in the interface, and the introduction of basic programming principles associated with the topic in question. Cyanidation (leaching with cyanide) is a common yet complex surface process in hydrometallurgical practice, and its effectiveness in extracting the metal of interest is often affected by the nature of the mineralogical species that are present. Little is known about surface processes on acanthite (a silver sulfide) and how its various facets respond to cyanidation in aqueous solution. Therefore, in this work, some properties of both bulk acanthite (Ag2S) and its (001), (022), and (1̅21) surface facets have been studied by density-functional-theory (DFT)-based calculations to elucidate reactivity trends and competitive adsorption (initial stages in the surface process of cyanidation) between cyanide and other species present in the leaching liquor. The increasing number of vehicles produces serious bottlenecks problems in urban areas; this situation generates questions about the variables control methods of interest in this problem. The study case presents an approach to the topic and is based on a hypothetical scenario (expressway), which it models and simulates with a microscopic approach, considering the individual movement of vehicles. Research shows that data analysis and artificial intelligence applied to agriculture in Peru can help manage crop production and mitigate monetary losses. This work presents SmartAgro, a system based on pattern mining and classification techniques that takes information from multiple sources related to the agricultural process to extract knowledge and produce recommendations about the crop growth process. The problem we seek to mitigate with our system is the economic losses generated in Peruvian agriculture caused by poor crop planning. Our results show a high accuracy in regards to type of crop recommendation, and a knowledge base useful for agricultural planning.

Objective: To determine if simulation is more effective than conventional exposition in the improvement in nurses’ knowledge of severe preeclampsia. Methods: Crosssectional quasi-experimental study in two private clinics in Cajamarca, Peru. We compared the improvement in nurses’ knowledge of severe preeclampsia: 13 attended to a conventional exposition about severe preeclampsia (Exconv) and 16, the experimental group, had the same exposition and four simulation training sessions (Sim). We conducted a pretest in both groups and a posttest in 20participants; these were composed of multiple choice questions previously validated by experts; Spearman-Brown reliability was 0.76. We present the simulation of the application of the Model-based Predictive Control (MPC) of the drum level in a Combined Cycle Plant in order to minimize the time for reaching the highest capacity of plant, around 225 MW. In contrast to others control techniques, our simulation yields that the MPC has shown capabilities as to reach its expected power in about 40 minutes before than PID, time which normally takes the whole industrial process under this control. In the present study, we have tested up to three different reference functions in order to compare performance during the drum level control. According to the simulations, the MPC working together with these reference functions is seen to be promising in the sense of providing efficiency to the plant from the startup until the time when system is reaching 225 MW. We have also calculated a minor discrepancy of order of lees than 5%.

The present research refers to the study of a manufacturing company located in the city of Lima, Peru, and has the objective of developing a production management model to improve the efficiency of the manufacture of refractory crucibles. The company started operations seven years ago and has about 15 employees in the administrative and operational areas. Currently, the efficiency of the production process is 62%, below the industry average of 75%, showing a gap of 13%. This research aims to inquire about the role attributed to love in the construction of the identity of a cynical subject through the analysis of dialogue and body language. For this, the Spanish series What a sad life is analyzed, an audiovisual production that was transmitted, first, by the YouTube video platform and then by television between 2005 and 2010. This series is analyzed in the light of the philosophical approaches of Peter Sloterdijk, Alain Badiou and Slavoj Žižek, as well as the psychoanalytic theory of Jacques Lacan.
