This paper is a summary of a thesis to get the professional title of Geographical Engineer. The burning of sugar cane is the major source of pollution in the district of Laredo and surrounding areas. This burning is done before harvest where the leaves are burned, it is done to ensure control of pests and reduce harvesting costs, while the one made after the harvest which is burned in the bag of the cane and the remaining green leaves can eliminate waste and accelerate land preparation and replanting. When cane burning is taking place, pollution occurs in form of shower of particles and fly ash together with no visible smoke and gases. Those most affected are housewives, dirty as these fly ash floors, household goods and clothes placed on clotheslines.

Ecologically-sound management plans for high-altitude grasslands of the Andes depend on an understanding the responses of plants to fire, especially the dominant tussock grasses. This study considers physiognomic responses of tussock grass in 13 sites in northern Ecuador with a known fire history, with time since fire 0.5–10 y, and a control site which had not been burned for at least 40 y. At each site, we assessed vegetation height, basal cover of the tussocks, and the ratio of dead:live leaves in tussocks. We also measured light at ground level. As recovery time increased, tussock cover and number decreased, while tussock height increased. Light levels fell sharply below the tussock canopies as recovery took place, and dead leaves accumulated quickly, reaching 60 – 70% by just two years after fire. Introduction: There is ongoing exploration into herbal treatments to identify adjunct therapies with minimal side effects. One such treatment involves curcumin from turmeric (Curcuma longa). This study aims to review the efficacy of curcumin as an anti-inflammatory agent for periodontitis along with the mechanisms of action involved. Methods: A systematic review of pre-clinical and clinical studies published on Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar up to May 2024 was employed following the PRISMA guidelines. Three tools were used for risk of bias assessment, namely the QUIN tool for in vitro studies, the SYRCLE’s RoB for in vivo studies, and the Cochrane RoB 2 for RCTs. Daphnia magna is proposed as a bioindicator to establish the minimum concentration capable of controlling pests before performing toxicity tests. This study uses the proposed pest control extracts of two Peruvian species, Clibadium peruvianum Poepp. (seeds) and Petiveria alliacea L. (leaves). The toxicological effects of the plant extracts were evaluated with D. magna, using five neonates over a period of 24–48 h. A lack of mobility or the absence of heart rhythm for 15 s under a stereomicroscope was considered to indicate mortality. The purpose is to detect a comic incident that works as a vestibular space of tragic climax, in the context of an urban narrative characterized by covering thematic regions such as alienation, resignation, Dislove, drowsiness. The laughter in this episode carries the pain, the comic implies the tragic. To these theoretical budgets is associated the philosophical study on the unlevelness that produces the laughter, and which is approached by Alfred Stern and Henri Bergson. These dialogues make it possible to understand the function of the resource of humour in the text, prior to the tragic moment that will be unleashed in the outcome.

Severe burn damage the respiratory mucosa and destroy epithelial tissue, resulting in systemic, metabolic, and sometimes fatal consequences. For decision-making, it is necessary to have easy-to-access predictors of mortality. The study's objective was to evaluate and contrast the performance of the rBaux, ABSI, and APACHE II indices as indicators of mortality in patients with significant burns. 20 papers were chosen for a bibliographic analysis, which included information on mortality, accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the rBaux, ABSI, and APACHE II indexes. According to AUC, the accuracy of the rBaux, ABSI, and APACHE II indices was 0.84 to 0.99, 0.85 to 0.94, and 0.64 to 0.93 correspondingly. El presente estudio analiza la incidencia del acceso a servicios financieros en la agricultura en el Perú durante el período 2014-2023, con un enfoque en el impacto del crédito directo, el gasto público, la inflación, la educación y la superficie cosechada en tres macrorregiones: norte, centro y sur. El presente trabajo consiste en el diseño de máquina automatizada para mejorar la eficiencia en la elaboración de helados utilizando nitrógeno líquido, en el cual se busca optimizar los procesos en la preparación de helados reduciendo el consumo de nitrógeno líquido y el tiempo de producción. Todo esto, a través de un sistema de control secuencial que controla un sistema de aspersión del nitrógeno líquido. En principio se analizó el campo de los helados elaborados con nitrógeno líquido y sus requerimientos por no realizarse de manera automática. This research analyzes the impact of microfinance on reducing social vulnerability in the 24 departments of Peru for the period from 2012 to 2018. The multidimensionality of social vulnerability is ideal to estimate different factors and synthesize them in a single concept expressed numerically in an index. This value will be related to the categories of access and use of microfinance through a panel data model to estimate the impact. The results stipulate that this reduction is partially fulfilled since only loans from microfinance institutions, microfinance offices, and access to the Internet reduce social vulnerability while those that do not are commercial bank loans, telephone lines and gross regional fixed investment. La literatura sobre el gasto militar, el empleo, y su relación con el crecimiento económico es amplia y los resultados de estas investigaciones son variados según la metodología a usar. Por tal motivo, el presente trabajo de investigación propone evaluar el efecto del gasto militar sobre el crecimiento económico y sobre el empleo en 82 países durante el periodo 1985-2019 usando modelos no lineales. La metodología usada permite explicar el comportamiento de variables macroeconómicas bajo el respaldo de teoría económica heterodoxa.
