The aim of this work was to evaluate influence of length and sex of Pacific harvestfish Peprilus medius (Peters, 1869) (Stromateidae), a carnivore benthopelagic fish of the central coast of Peru, on its main helminths and crustacean parasites. We investigated some community components of parasitofauna of 115 P. medius necropsied between September 2007 and June 2008 from Chorrillos Fishmarket, Lima, Peru. The mean total length of fishes was 23.94.65 cm. Mean abundance of infection and mean parasite species richness was 9.23 (0-140) and 0.81 (1-3), respectively. Forty-two hosts were not parasitized (36.5 %). Infection, with 1, 2 and 3 species of parasites were 54 (47 %), 18 (15.7 %) and 1 (0.9 %), respectively. Three trematode endoparasites were found: Lecithocladium sp., Opechona bacillaris (Molin, 1859) and Lobatostoma sp. Four ectoparasites were also found: Oaxacotyle oaxacensis (Caball...

We would like to introduce the 39th issue of the Journal of Economics, Finance and Administrative Science (JEFAS). The Journal is indexed to the most prestigious databases worldwide like Scopus, Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), Redalyc, EconLit and Gale. This issue has six papers, as usual, and one extra article in a section called Doctoral Dissertation which discusses a recent doctoral student’s research in a Peruvian sample. The first article, “Emerging Markets Integration in Latin America (MILA) Stock market indicators: Chile, Colombia, and Peru”, is an empirical paper that estimates the impact of the Latin American Integrated Market (MILA) start-up in the main indicators of the countries’ stock markets that conform the MILA group. This paper is an attempt to correlate three main aspects of Peruvian archaeology, as a mea ns to provide an evaluation of current situation. lt starts with the premise that politics usually dominates both theory and practice in different levels and modes. This politization tends to recude the scientific character (both theoretical and methodological) of the discipline, as it priorizes particularisms, the commodification, as well as the "technical" side of the profesional performance of the Peruvian archaeology. This is manifested, among other aspects, in a weak research policy and a severe reduction of scientific production.

The explosive growth of mobile Internet services in Japan has generated great interest in understanding the reason for success. Given that the diffusion ratios of these services differ according to the countries, some studies suggest that a series of requirements must be met, and others propose that culture is one of the main factors. In addition, it is important to mention that research work to develop a model that integrates the elements that intervene in the supply and demand of these services and help us understand the reason for their adoption are still scarce. To reduce this gap, the objective of this article is to propose an integral model from the point of view of the demand and supply of the elements that intervene in the adoption of these services. For its development, a set of theories is considered: dissemination of innovations, electronic commerce, and mobile commerce, use o...

Background: Behavior change theories can identify people’s main motivations to engage in recommended health practices and thus provide better tools to design interventions, particularly human centered design interventions. Objectives: This study had two objectives: (a) to identify salient beliefs about walking three times a week for 30 minutes nonstop among patients with hypertension in a low-resource setting and, (b) to measure the relationships among intentions, attitudes, perceived social pressure and perceived behavioral control about this behavior. Methods: Face-to-face interviews with 34 people living with hypertension were conducted in September-October 2011 in Lima, Peru, and data analysis was performed in 2015. The Reasoned: Action Approach was used to study the people’s decisions to walk. We elicited people’s salient beliefs and measured the theoretical constructs associa...
