The teaching of human parasitology is essential for students of health sciences, especially medicine, because it is a major global public health problem―occurring with high frequency in low-income countries―and because of its presence in countries considered developed. In this sense, it is estimated that worldwide there are 2,800 million individuals infected with soil-transmitted helminths, 20 to 30% people infected with Toxoplasma gondii, 300 to 500 million new cases of malaria per year, and nearly 15 million Latin Americans with Chagas disease, an infection caused by Trypanosoma cruzi. This narrative review article analyzes information available in digital repositories on aspects of the traditional educational program of human or medical parasitology using descriptors or keywords closely related to the topic. The reviewed articles were mainly those published in peer-reviewed, index...

The essential purpose of this research was to verify if an Environmental Education Program developed and applied by the above-mentioned authors positively influences the development and consolidation of the care and conservation of Amazonian forests in students of the CC specialty. H H. H.H. of the UNFV (CC. HH. SS. of the UNFV onwards). To this end, two Likert-type questionnaires were applied as entrance and exit tests for the program. The sample consisted of 44 students (30 students belonging to the Experimental Group and 14 students belonging to the Control Group), which was selected using “non-probabilistic sampling” of the opinion or criterial type. The approach was quantitative, the descriptive level comparative and the design adopted was the “quasi-experimental”. Digital badges are visual representations of a skill, ability or knowledge acquired by a person. Their practical usefulness is to grant these features visibility through broadcasting on online platforms, in addition to storing and publishing evidence and data about the depicted achievement. This new technology is capable of transforming accreditation and evaluation processes for educational and corporate contexts, by providing specific information participants performance in training or work related activities. An exploratory review of sixteen digital badge projects applied in continuing professional education programs was carried out. Details on the design trends and results of these projects were published in twenty documents registered in Scopus and Web of Science. It was determined that the most used design principles were those related to the recognition and evaluation of competence...

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of virtual and hybrid teaching methods, leading to substantial changes in educational approaches. This study focused on evaluating the effect of mediating technologies on post-pandemic educational processes, emphasizing their essential role in enhancing interaction and cooperation between teachers and students. Although their relevance is evident, challenges persist in terms of access, quality, and evaluation of technological educational initiatives. To address these challenges, a comprehensive literature review was conducted, examining 26 international academic studies published in the last five years. The findings indicate that mediating technologies positively influence motivation, student retention, and self-directed learning, especially in higher education and language teaching. However, the effects vary depending on the context. It is ...

In the learning society, one of the challenges for teachers in training is the need to define and develop a set of professional skills in their initial training, essential for their subsequent entry into the labor market. In this work, the aim was to delve into the employability skills developed by students in the Primary Education undergraduate study program, their relevance for their process of socio-labor insertion, as well as their global perception to face it. An inter-university study was carried out with a total of 210 students in their final year at Universidad de Murcia and Universidade da Coruña, both Spanish. The collection of information was carried out on the basis of the previously validated Labor Counseling and Insertion Questionnaire. The results showed few differences between the assessments of the students of both universities, which coincide in pointing out to a great...
