This study had the objective to analyze the mental processes in terms of the thinking abilities and the cognitive functions as well as some levels of text processing that distinguish (differentiate) good and poor reader students from High School. The analysis was based on the theories: The Structural Cognitive Modifiability of Reuven Feuerstein and the Text Processing of W. Kintsch and T.A Van Dick. The cognitive demands of solution from each one of the questions of a standardized reading test were analyzed as mentioned before. The following cognitive processes were identified and organized: Classification, Analysis-Synthesis, Logic inference and Hypothetical reasoning.

While composing vocal music, it is usually required an extra “set of rules” that is generally related with the language of the text used in the music. Each language has characteristics connected with its pronunciation, prosody, meaning, etc., that are necessary in order to set the text in a way that is understandable, but also some of these “quirks” can be exploitable and shape the music in a way that is closer to the sound, rhythm or even the culture carried by the language. This first paper on the topic addresses the use of Latin language in musical composition, as many others have tackled its pronunciation in performance but there is not much written about how a composer can use the language confidence and efficiency. In this paper, the concepts of syllable length and tonic accent in Latin will be introduced and they will be explained and applied through musical examples from ...

The article examines the development of speech in elementary school students. The research objective is to determine the status of coherent speech development in 3rd-grade students in the process of constructive and artistic activity. The article defines the criteria (structural and compositional, communicative and productive, and communicative and creative), indicators, and levels of development of coherent speech in elementary school students in the process of constructive and artistic activity. Each criterion includes a group of qualitative content-disclosing indicators and characterizes the achievements of students in the intended type of activity. Based on this, the authors have developed a methodological tool that allows them to diagnose coherent speech development in 3rd-grade students in the process of constructive and artistic activity and to conduct a precise quantitative diffe...

The research is a comparative method, transversal. It had the pur¬pose to compare the goals and motivations in choosing a profes¬sional career in 347 students of university first terms in Kinder¬garten Education, Primary Education, and Languages, all of them in a range of 20 to 22 years old. An instrument with three versions was elaborated, based on the theoretical framework proposed by Gámez y Marrero (2003). The evidences confirm significant dif¬ferences in the goals and motivations; these differences are more noticeable between students of the careers of Primary Education and Languages (sig. <.001), and between Kindergarten Education and Languages (sig.<.001). Finally, the goals and motivations were largely differentiated according to the gender (sig.<. 005), being the average for women (prom.=139.3/sig.<.005).

The aim of this study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the literature on advance customs clearance published in Scopus between 2006 and 2023. It was a bibliometric data study to measure scientific production through indicators. Keywords in English (advance, customs, clearance) were used to select 74 Scopus documents relevant to the study. According to the results, scientific production peaked in 2018, 2016 and 2012 (n=22; 29.7%). In addition, the United States accounted for 28.1% of all publications (n=32), 9 papers were published in Journal of International Economics and the most cited author was Manova, K. (481 citations; n=2 papers). The vast majority of these publications (92%) were research papers in the fields of economics, econometrics and finance (43%), social sciences (20%) and business, management and accounting (14%). It is concluded that the study conducted on advanc...

The problem of inferential comprehension of specialized texts by students of general studies at a private university (N=717) was the main axis of analysis in this study. The intention was to know the strategies that they used to understand a scientific text. When we analyzed by means of the factorial analysis the cognitive activities they undertook when reading a text of Psychology, we reached a solution of two factors: F1, macro structural processing; and F2 model of the situation. The intervention of the professors was recommended who must promote their approach to the text and teach them adequate strategies for the comprehension of scientific texts of the courses they are in charge.

Objective. The objective of the current study was to evaluate critical nutrients of industrialized foods and compare them with the technical parameters established in the Peruvian regulations, in its two stages of implementation, referring to front-of-package labeling before the beginning of its validity in June 2019. Methods. Cross-sectional study in which the critical nutrients of sodium, total sugar, saturated fat and transfat were analyzed from data declared in the nutritional labels of 511 processed and ultra-processed foods that were part of the products purchased for the consumption of 88 families of students from one private university in Lima. The technical parameters used to evaluate the critical nutrients are those established in the Regulation of Law 30021. All analyses were carried out with Excel and SPSS version 21, Student’s t-statistics and McNemar’s test were used. R...

Research in academic literacy has shown that scaffolding improves the reading of disciplinary texts. Included among the considered variables is the lexica. A robust vocabulary will result in better reading performance. To verify this, a semantic priming task and a reading comprehension test were applied to 31 first-year pedagogy students to establish whether there is a correlation between lexical processing and reading. The main findings indicate the establishment of weak semantic relations and normal reading performance. It is concluded that better reading performance is associated with slower lexical processing, which would suggest that readers engage in strategic operations to address comprehension tasks. This will allow for the formulation of scaffolding actions that highlight the importance of mastering the disciplinary vocabulary in order to safeguard an adequate reading task.

Based on a reflection on the reduced place of national history in the official educational proposal, the contents that appear in school textbooks on the processes that led to the Peruvian emancipation are analyzed, as well as the difficulties related to the development of virtual classes as a consequence of the health emergency. The centralism of the official educational proposal, despite some efforts to influence regional processes, is also mentioned. A brief account of what has already been said on the subject is presented, reflecting on the concrete problems of teachers, such as the difficulty to access, renew or improve their classroom materials, and also commenting on the problems of students in the classroom and outside it, such as poor connectivity, emotional problems at family and individual level and the eventual school dropout, situations that were aggravated by the usual disd...

Transformer models have evolved natural language processing tasks in machine learning and set a new standard for the state of the art. Thanks to the self-attention component, these models have achieved significant improvements in text generation tasks (such as extractive and abstractive text summarization). However, research works involving text summarization and the legal domain are still in their infancy, and as such, benchmarks and a comparative analysis of these state of the art models is important for the future of text summarization of this highly specialized task. In order to contribute to these research works, the researchers propose a comparative analysis of different, fine-tuned Transformer models and datasets in order to provide a better understanding of the task at hand and the challenges ahead. The results show that Transformer models have improved upon the text summarizatio...

Dramaturgs are often regarded as the first spectators of an artistic production; they are collaborators who watch over the creative process, providing a critical opinion to the rest of the creative team, and in turn, their work. In this light, the tasks they carry out during the creation process of an art piece contribute to observation, documentation, mediation, and research processes, in order to nurture creation. Given the insufficient availability regarding both theoretical and practical references within Latin American territory, this text is an educational contribution, since its aim is to provide methodological tools for young dramaturgs. This paper is based on the following questions: Which collaborators provide research material for a creative process? How is observation possible during the process? Who keeps a record of what is happening? To what purpose? If all creators conduc...

The objective of this research was to meet the standard of performance of students from third to sixth grade of primary education in the constitutional province of Callao in the psychological processes of writing: lexical, syntactic and planning evaluated through testing that, within the framework of this investigation, we drew up, accept and apply in 804 students from third to sixth grade of four socio-economic levels (a-B); C, D and E) of the constitutional province of Callao. We find that the total sample noted difficulties in the performance of the write in all assessed processes, especially in the drafting of narrative texts and in the allocation of punctuation signs a given text. As regards the second objective of the research that was the find if there are differences in the tasks evaluated according to socioeconomic level are differences in processes lexicons all tasks less in th...

This research had as objective develop, implement and validate lexicons (write to the dictation of words and sentences to assess mastery of the phonological path and write words to assess the visual route spelling), a program of stimulation of the psychological processes of the writing: syntactic process (ordering and complete words, placing punctuation) and planning of measured Scripture through the construction of a sequence of stories and the drafting of a descriptive and narrative text. The sample was comprised of 111 students in 2nd and 3rd grade primary school (56 of the control group and 55 of the experimental group) of two state educational institutions of Callao. It was observed an increase in all the tasks mentioned except in the drafting of texts and narratives due to time factors. From the result we recommend the dissemination of this programme with the aim of forming student...

Understanding why users continue or discontinue using specific technology is vital for its providers. Existing literature has explored the reasons for continuance and discontinuance by taking into account both rational and emotional factors. However, one question remains unanswered: Why do some users depend more on rational factors for decision-making, while others rely more on emotional factors? This study addresses this question by integrating cognitive decision-making styles and the fear of making incorrect decisions into traditional continued usage models. Data were gathered from 285 TV users and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results demonstrate that the introduced constructs moderated the direct effects of rational and emotional factors. The contribution of the study lies in incorporating the underlying cognitive processes of decision-making. It presents two actio...

Electoral processes are one of the most important pillars of democracy. Transparent, fair and representative elections are the basis of the Western democracies. However, holding electoral processes does not necessarily guarantee the establishment and exercise of the democracy. Elections based on intimidation, threats, insecurity, fear, violence, harassment, fraud, vote buying, abuse, manipulation and exploitation of vulnerable conditions are threats to democracy and an expression of the exercise of corruption. Latin America in recent years has been characterized by adopting democratic governments. In recent decades, almost all countries in the region have managed to overthrow authoritarian, military and dictatorial governments. However, the democratic exercise of citizens in local, regional and national elections is often questioned due to the lack of integrity and transparency of the pr...
