En esta investigación se analiza cómo fue representada la ciudad de Trujillo por autoridades locales, vecinos y cronistas durante la segunda mitad del siglo XVI, en un contexto donde la monarquía comenzaba a establecerse burocráticamente en el virreinato peruano y a mostrar los primeros resultados de la aplicación de las nuevas leyes. Trujillo fue percibido como un lugar feraz durante los primeros años de la conquista, hasta que, debido a una crisis económica, demográfica y a causa de la creación de la villa de Saña, mutó la representación que se tenía de esta ciudad. Although commonly detected in humans, microorganisms identified as Blastocystis have also been isolated from a wide range of animals, such as primates, pigs, cattle, birds, amphibians and, less frequently, rodents and insects. In the present paper, we describe the detection of Blastocystis sp. in bivalve mollusks of the genus Donax from the Peruvian northern coast. This finding extends the host range of this pathogen, opening the possibility of Blastocytis transmission to human beings by marine mollusks.

The municipal theater of Trujillo is considered a historical monument of Peru under the R.S. N° 290072-ED, since December 28, 1972. The present investigation analyzes the monument from its beginnings at the end of the 19th century to the present. The article describes the physical space of the theater, as well as the cultural life that was generated in this important cultural site. Within the historical development, it analyzes its beginnings until its destruction in 1910 after a voracious fire that completely destroyed the structure of the theater. The study has considered its subsequent reopening as part of the celebrations of the centenary of Peru's independence until its present day.

Objetive: Impaired fasting glucose (IFG) is a reversible transitory state to diabetes mellitus. To compare IFG frequency according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the World Medical Association (WMA) criteria, and its characteristics in adults from Trujillo according age and gender. Material and methods: 224 male and 232 women from Trujillo, in age groups from 20 to 39, 40 to 59 and 60 to 79 years old. Clinic and biochemical assays (glucose and profile lipid blood) were done, considering IFG according ADA: 100 a 125 mg/dl and OMS: 111 a 125 mg/dl Results: IFG prevalence according ADA, adjusted by age: male 11,73; women 13,61 and total 12,64%; withouth difference by gender and increased with age. La presente investigación tiene como propósito dar a conocer si el Plan Nacional de Capacitación Docente, dado a los profesores de educación primaria y secundaria de los centros educativos estatales del cercado de la Provincia de Trujillo, durante los años de 1999 - 2001, ha contribuido a mejorar el desempeño docente y el rendimiento académico de los educandos de dichos centros educativos. This paper seeks to identify the conception of power in La fiesta del Chivo. The phenomenon of power from the literary subgenres of the region, its particularities and its problems are analyzed in this essay. After a process of interpretation and contextualization of the work, it is identified that the fundamental elements of the primary conception of power are violence, conflict, and fear. Despite the author’s little problematization of this topic, fear of the loss of the «order» imposed by the dictatorial figures highlights the relationship of complicity between the dictator, those close to him, and the governed. With this approach, the study reveals the complexity of the phenomena of power in the region and allows an approach to law as an instrument of legitimization of dictatorships.

Desde hace 10 años, la presencia del comercio en la Tercera Etapa de la Urbanización Monserrate ha registrado un incremento progresivo, conllevando a la invasión de espacios públicos. Por ello, la investigación tiene como objetivo, identificar las condiciones en las que se debe dar el comercio en beneficio de la recuperación del espacio público para la regeneración urbana del lugar estudiado. En este artículo se analiza cómo fue representada la fundación de la ciudad de Trujillo con motivo de la conmemoración de su cuarto centenario en 1935 y cómo una de estas representaciones logró ser establecida de manera oficial. This paper analyzes how the centenary of Trujillo (1920) developed during the first years of the Legislative government, where its notorious institutional reforms and the approach to the «Patria Nueva» conditioned its approach, course and reception. For this, it will be based on informative reports, journalistic comments and official speeches to understand the scope of the legal project in the festive proposal, public participation and interest in one hundred years of Trujillo’s independence. It is concluded that, although the influence of legality was indirect, aspects such as the renewal of its independence symbols and paternalism through the landowner were maintained.
