It is indisputable the cultural and ancestral value acquired and deposited in the Andean-Amazonian Communities, on the correct use of medicinal plants; the same that unfortunately today is in danger of disappearing due to globalization. In this sense, the research sought to determine the most frequent diseases treated with medicinal plants by the population of Huamachuco, Sanchez Carrion, La Libertad, Peru. Objective: to identify the medicinal plants used in the therapy of respiratory system disorders by the Andean community of Pampas, Tayacaja, Huancavelica. Methodology: Semi-structured, random interviews were used, considering exclusion and inclusion criteria for the study sample of 370 inhabitants. Results: The ethnomedicinal use of 13 species and 10 families of medicinal plants used for the therapy of respiratory system conditions such as influenza, bronchitis, asthma, cold, cough, laryngitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia is reported. Conclusions: The Andean inhabitant of the Pampas reports the families Anacardiaceae, Asteraceae, Boraginaceae, Geraniaceae, Lamiaceae, Myrtaceae, Nyctaginaceae, Onagraceae, Piperaceae and Plantaginaceae and 13 species; used in the therapy of affections of the respiratory system; where the widely used species is Eucalyptus globulus (69%).

Recent research supports the fact that many of the dye-type food additives used in the food industry, far from satisfying the organoleptic requirements of the population; greatly reduce the health of those who consume it; such is the case of red 40 widely used in Peru. Based on what has been described, this research focused on determining the cytotoxic effect of red food dye 40 in Artemia salina nauplii. La presente investigación buscó determinar el efecto antioxidante de llantén (Plantago major) en conejos sometidos a hipotermia profunda y reperfusión. Para ello, se emplearon 15 conejos, en tres grupos: el primero; mantenido en normotermia; el segundo, llevado a Hipotermia, y el tercero, inducido a Hipotermia/Reperfusión.
