Objective: To determine a Croton lechleri vaginal gel preparation toxicity in rabbits. Design: Experimental study. Evalúa la composición química, actividad antimicrobiana y antioxidante de los aceites esenciales de Croton adipatus Kunth, Croton thurifer Kunth y Croton collinus Kunth. Los aceites esenciales fueron extraídos de las hojas de las especies seleccionadas por hidrodestilación y las composiciones químicas fueron determinadas por Cromatografía de gases acoplada a espectrometría de masas (CG/EM). Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of Croton lechleri (C. lechleri) on strains of S. mutans ATCC 35668. Methods: It was used 50%, 75% and 100% concentrations of C. lechleri, and chlorhexidine (0.12%) as a positive control and distilled water as a negative control. It was measured the inhibition halos produced around imbibed discs with each of the concentrations of C. lechleri on colonies of S. mutans which were seeded in Muller Hinton Agar. Results: 75% and 100% of C. lechleri concentration showed antibacterial activity in vitro over S. mutans, 50% concentration showed no activity. 0.12% chlorhexidine concentration showed a higher antibacterial activity in vitro than all the concentrations of C. lechleri groups evaluated. OBJECTIVE: To determine if dragon’s blood Croton palanostigma induces gastric mucus secretion as a protective effect. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Adult male albine 200 to 250 g rats were distributed in 4 groups: (I) control with saline solution; (II) gastric croton 0,8 mL/ kg; (III) duodenal croton 0,8 mL/kg; (IV) ranitidine 50 mg/kg; 10 animals in each group. One hour later, pyloric ligation by abdominal laparatomy was performed under ethil ether anestesia and a histamine discharge was done to stimulate secretion. Stomachs were removed and at the glandular portion mucus secretion was measured by modified Corne method expressed as µg of alcian blue/mL/g of tissue. Evalúa de forma comparativa la actividad antibacteriana y antioxidante de los extractos etanólicos de las hojas de Croton thurifer Kunth y Croton collinus Kunth. Se realiza un screening fitoquímico preliminar de los extractos etanólicos de las hojas de Croton thurifer Kunth y Croton collinus Kunth, detectándose la presencia de flavonoides, alcaloides, saponinas y esteroides para ambas especies. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar los efectos del coagulante/floculante natural extraído de Croton lechleri y Croton draconoides (sangre de grado) en la mejora de la calidad del agua de quebradas contaminadas, a escala de laboratorio, durante el año 2024. Objetivo: El propósito del presente estudio fue determinar la actividad antibacteriana de Croton lechleri (C. lechleri) sobre cepas de S. mutans ATCC 35668. Métodos: Se utilizó concentraciones al 50, 75 y 100% de C. lechleri, como control positivo a la clorhexidina 0,12% y al agua destilada como control negativo. Se midieron los halos de inhibición producidos alrededor de discos embebidos con cada una de las concentraciones de C. lechleri sobre colonias de S. mutans sembradas en Agar Muller Hinton. Resultados: Las concentraciones al 75% y 100% de C. lechleri mostraron actividad antibacteriana in vitro sobre S. mutans, la concentración al 50% no manifestó ninguna actividad. The empirical use of plants for medicinal purposes is an ancient practice. The Crotongenus specifically is frequently utilized by indigenous communities in South America to treat avariety of infections. In this work, the potency of the latex coming from the Croton gossypiifolius(Euphorbiaceae) tree as antimicrobial agent was studied. Also known as “Dragon’s blood”, itwas tested over microorganisms associated to infections in humans. The bacteria utilized wereKlebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomona aeruginosa and the fungiAspergillus niger. The “Dragon’s blood” was collected directly from the cortex of the trees by makingV shaped cuts. Objective. To determine the effect of the Croton lechleri lyophilized extract gel on root pulp tissue of pulpotomies performed on Oryctolagus cuniculus. Methods. Thirty-two two-month-old male New Zealand rabbits race, were randomly assigned into four experimental groups: a) control, b) formocresol, c) 1% Croton lechleri and d) 2.5% Croton lechleri. Four pulpotomies were done on each animal. Clinical variables (abscesses, tooth mobility and infections) and histopathological variables (fiber formation, pro-inflammatory cell and regenerative cell number) were analyzed after 1,7,15, and 30 days. Arg., es una especie de importancia medicinal y bioacumuladora de metales pesados que pesar de su amplia distribución, presenta pequeñas poblaciones delimitadas en relictos con poco número de individuos y baja tasa de germinación de sus semillas, siendo uno de los problemas que posee esta especie. The present investigation had the purpose of: determining the differences in the in vitro development of buds from croton young plants of latex producers; to evaluate the response to the acclimatization of croton’s plantulas with better behavior in vitro, and to determine the chromosomal number of selected individuals of croton latex producers. The culture medium for the in vitro introduction was determined evaluating the behavior of croton draconoides in five treatments with the basic medium murashige and skoog (ms) taking into consideration that the species in the study belong to the same gender. A inicios del año 2015 cuarenta árboles de la especie Croton lechleri fueron instalados por el Programa Inicial de Responsabilidad Forestal Molinera (PIRFM) como parte del “Centro de la Diversidad Natural y Cultural del Perú – Parque Temático Forestal” en el Vivero Forestal FCF UNALM ubicado en La Molina, Lima. A finales del 2016 la especie empezó a mostrar síntomas y signos de la plaga Paracoccus marginatus. Por su incidencia en el año 2017 se realizaron 3 evaluaciones para registrar el ataque en la plantación experimental y una evaluación el 2018 donde se registró que P. marginatus causó el 85% de mortandad en los árboles de Croton lechleri.

Dental caries is among the ten leading causes of morbidity in the country and in our region, ending mostly in exodontia, resulting in a postexodontic wound with risks of bleeding, infections and other oral health problems. The objective research was to determine the effectiveness of croton lechleri sp in postexodontic wound healing. The methodology research carried out was a quasi-experimental study with 50 adults from a Private Dental Clinic in Huánuco, 2015. An observation guide research was used in the collection of information on post orthodontic wounds. In the inferential analysis of the results used the U Mann-Whitney Test. Objective. To determine the anti-inflammatory effectiveness of eugenol against croton lechleri in the treatment of recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Methods. This is an experimental study where 60 samples were included, divided into three study groups (G.E): G.E. 1 (croton lechleri), with 20 subjects; G.E. 2 (eugenol), with 20 subjects; and the control group (G.C), with 20 other subjects.
