Apari3ncias es un webtoon coreano creado por Park Tae Joon y publicado en el 2014. La historia tiene como personaje principal a Park Hyung Suk, un estudiante que es víctima de acoso escolar debido a su apariencia física. Debido a que esta historieta digital está ambientada en una escuela secundaria y aborda temas como el acoso escolar, incluye una gran cantidad de palabras tabú. Sin embargo, en las dos versiones traducidas al español, se aplican diferentes técnicas de traducción. Por dicha razón, en la presente investigación se analizará la manera en la que se traducen estas palabras tabú por dos entidades (traductores de Naver Webtoon y traductores fanáticos). Para ello, se utilizará el enfoque cualitativo y se investigará utilizando el método de estudio de caso. Asimismo, se realizará un análisis-textual contrastivo bilingüe entre las dos traducciones en español y la versión original en coreano. De esta forma, se abordará la función del lenguaje tabú en el texto fuente y se analizará cómo estas funciones se traducen en español mediante estrategias o técnicas microtextuales disfemísticas o eufemísticas.

Lookism is a Korean webtoon created by Park Tae Joon and released in 2014. The story features Park Hyung Suk as the main character, a student who is bullied at school because of his physical appearance. This digital comic is set in a high school and deals with issues such as bullying. Because of this context, the dialogues regularly include taboo language. The two translations into Spanish—an official one by Naver Webtoon and one made by fan or non-professional translators—deal with these taboo words and dysphemism expressions in different ways. The present study will analyze the way in which these taboo words are rendered in both versions. The study follows a qualitative approach and uses the case study as the general research strategy. The source and target texts will be analyzed applying a contrastive textual analysis.
