Descripción
Sumario:The support of the branches of the higuerilla tree (Ricinus communis L.) is evaluated in its ability to promote the yield of the bean variety Huasca Poroto (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in the native communities of Alto Shamboyacu and Chunchiwi, San Martin region. We used the Randomized Block Design, with four treatments and three blocks. The treatments used were: T0 (bean with corn, control), T1 (all unpruned huiguerilla branches associated with bean), T2 (higuerilla pruned and the formation of two higuerilla branches associated with bean) and T3 (higuerilla pruned and the formation of three higuerilla branches associated with bean). The indicators used in both communities were: leaf area (cm2), pod length (cm), number of pods per plant, plant height (m), number of seeds per pod, average seed weight (g), yield (kg/ha-1) and economic analysis. In both communities, the treatment T3 provided more support to bean growth, therefore increasing the yield and economic benefit of the bean cultivation with 1709.18 and 1367.34 kg/ha-1 and with 0.22 and -0.03 of B/C. It is demonstrated that the support of the higuerilla with three branches provides better sustainability and increases the production of the bean; the association bean and higuerilla makes greater profitability and greater economic benefits possible for the inhabitants of the studied areas.
