Descripción
Sumario:This article aims to analyze and describe the factors that affect academic stress and the levels at which it is associated with dropout in statistics students from a private higher institute of health in Lima. The research is quantitative, non-experimental, transectional and its design is correlational. The survey is applied using the Sisco Scale of Academic Stress and an academic dropout questionnaire. The sample is made up of 186 students. The results indicate that a weak positive correlation r = 0.477 is shown between academic stress and dropout, in addition the p <0.01 establishing that the correlation found is highly significant. It is concluded that the higher the academic stress, the higher the dropout rate in statistics students. There is a lack of information about coping with stress on the part of students, this significantly influences the making of incorrect decisions, which results in a high probability of desertion.
