Research priorities are a fundamental component of national health research systems. In the year 2021, the National Institute of Health led the process of identifying the "national research priorities in COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) and other respiratory viruses with pandemic potential: Preparing for the next pandemic, 2022-2026”. The process was developed following the previous methodology for identification of research priorities used by the Instituto Nacional de Salud (Perú), which was to be adapted to a virtual environment, with four phases. Six strategic objectives to be achieved were formulated and served as an umbrella for the identification of national priorities, a total of 21 research priorities were identified. It is recommended that a plan for the implementation of research priorities be formulated and executed and that the Ministry of Health, through its different instances, tak...

Objetive: Characterize the scientific production on COVID-19 by institutions located in Peru, period 2020-2022. Materials and methods: The study covered two databases (MEDLINE and Scopus). Original articles were included in which there was at least one researcher affiliated with an institution located in Peru, articles were excluded: i) in which there was no term about the pathology or viral agent in the title or objective of the study, ii) preprint. For the characterization, indicators of production, visibility and impact, and collaboration were used. Results: 1066 articles were analyzed. A growing scientific production was evidenced from 2020 to 2022. The top three topic areas were pandemic, mental health, and mortality. Two hundred seven (19.4%) articles were published in the United States journals and 185 (17.4%) in United Kingdom journals. The San Ignacio de Loyola University was th...

Results: There was a decreasing trend of the different types of intimate partner violence against women (p value < 0.001); as well as, control situations, humiliating situation and threat situations (p value < 0.001). The husband's or partner's alcohol consumption, the history that the woman's father ever hit her mother, a greater number of children alive, control situations, humiliating situation, and threatening situations showed an independent...

Mr. Editor We consider important the observation and contribution made regarding the scientific production in Human Resources in Health in Peru. The study in reference had as one of its objectives to characterize the scientific production around the national research agenda on Human Resources in Health (period 2011-2014). This agenda included 30 specific research topics grouped in two areas: health education and health work (1). The search strategies employed used the descriptors called Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) for the SCOPUS database and the descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS) for the LILACS database. In this last structured vocabulary, the descriptors related to Human Resources in Health are 'Human Resources in Health' and 'Personal Health', which were used in the construction of our search strategy.
