The present thesis, "Monitoreo ofthe Deforestation in the provinces ofHuallaga, the Gilded one and You lick in the Department ofSan Martín", is oriented to contribute with the planning of the occupation of the territory and the use of the natural resources, in special with the process of Ecological and Economic Zonificación of the Region San Martín who the Institute of Investigations of the Peruvian Amazonía and the Regional Government of San Martín come promoting in our region. Analiza las diversas potencialidades y limitaciones que posee el territorio, a fin de que sirva como un instrumento de gestión territorial, tanto para elaborar planes de ordenamiento territorial, como para facilitar la formulación de políticas, planes y programas orientados al desarrollo sostenible a escala humana en Tocache.

Presenta los conceptos básicos de zonificación ecológica económica y cómo ésta se articula a los procesos de ordenamiento y desarrollo territorial sostenible. Además, presenta los resultados obtenidos del proceso de ZEE realizado en Tocache, así como algunas recomendaciones y reflexiones sobre el camino que falta para recorrer de aquí en adelante, con la visión de que Tocache se consolide como un territorio de oportunidades, partiendo de sus capacidades humanas y con la mirada puesta en el desarrollo humano como objetivo fundamental de todo emprendimiento o actuación en el territorio.
