Endophytic fungi possess a versatile metabolism which is related to their ability to live in diverse ecological niches. While culturing under laboratory conditions, their metabolism is mainly influenced by the culture media, time of incubation and other physicochemical factors. In this study, we focused on the production of 3 thiodiketopiperazines (TDKPs) botryosulfuranols A−C produced by an endophytic strain of Cophinforma mamane isolated from the leaves of Bixa orellana L collected in the Peruvian Amazon. La resistencia a antibióticos es una de las razones más importantes que impulsa la búsqueda de nuevas drogas antibióticas mientras que las infecciones causadas por bacterias resistentes a antibióticos podría ser una de las principales causas de muerte a nivel mundial si no actuamos prontamente. La búsqueda de nuevos antibióticos en fuentes poco tradicionales o poco exploradas representan un fuente promisoria de moléculas con actividad antimicrobiana. Hermetia illucens es conocida por su gran capacidad de degradar materia orgánica y por poseer una microbiota intestinal muy diversa con capacidad de producir compuestos antimicrobianos.
