Objectives. To determinate the risk of death in new-boros with diagnosis of Selective intrauterine growth restriction in twin pregnancy according sex. Material and methods. Analytic, cross sectional and retrospective. The sample of new-boms with diagnosis of selective intrauterine growth restriction (SIUGR) was selected in the period between February 21'h, 2011 and November 241', 2014 on the National Maternal Perinatal Institute where were included 60491 new-boros, of which 58629 corresponded to single pregnancies, 1790 to twin pregnancies (683 new-borns with SIUGR; 335 of feminine sex and 348 of masculine sex) and 72 to triple pregnancies.

Objectives. To determine the relationship between obesity at the beginning, in the second and third trimester of pregnancy and macrosomic newborns treated at the National Maternal Perinatal Institute during the period from 2003 to 2005. Materials and methods. An analytical, prospective study in which it was followed two cohorts of pregnant women, the first one with 210 pregnant with adequate prepregnancy weight or overweight; and the second one with 211 pregnant with prepregnancy maternal obesity. We proceeded to descriptive analysis, through percentages, means and standard deviations. For the determination of hypothesis tests proceeded to significant inferential statistics with an alpha level of statistical significance of less than 0.05. To determine the influence, it proceeded to use the Relative Risk (RR) with confidence intervals at 95%.

Objectives: To determine the relationship between the average pulsatility index of the uterine arteries taken by ultrasound inpregnant women between 11 and 14 and 20 to 26 weeks of gestation with neonatal macrosomia. Materials and methods:Prospective, longitudinal, analytical study. A total of 3,279 pregnant women attended at the National Maternal Perinatal Institutebetween 2011 and 2014, of whom 952 were patients between 11 and 14 weeks and 2327 between 20 and 26 weeks, two groupswere formed: 11 to 14 and 20 to 26 weeks; The weights considered for the comparison were: 3,600, 3,800, 4,000, 4,200 and 4,400grams, a correlation was performed by the Pearson method, statistical significance was performed by means of Chi square test forboth groups, to calculate the probability Of occurrence of events was calculated odss ratio and to evaluate the precision were usedconfidence intervals, subsequ...

Objective. To determine the similarity or difference in femur length of normal fetuses compared to fetuses with Downsyndrome at the Maternal Perinatal Institute period 2011-2015. Methodology. It is a quantitative, retrospective, observational, descriptive and cross-sectional descriptive study. Our population was all fetuses of the National Perinatal Maternal Institutein the period 2011-2015, which had the measure of Femur Length and the complete database, which meet the criteria ofInclusion and Exclusion.

Objective: To determine the prevalence and characteristics of vertical transmission of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in a referral hospital in Peru. Methods: A quantitative, cross-sectional, and descriptive study was conducted at the National Maternal Perinatal Institute between 2017 and 2023. HIV-screened pregnant women were included, analyzing maternal variables, delivery type, and newborn condition. HIV detection was performed using a rapid test, and data were collected from clinical records. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. Results: A total of 108 585 pregnant women were screened, identifying 357 HIV-positive cases (0.33%). Ten cases of vertical transmission (2.8%) were diagnosed, mostly intrapartum (60%). Cesarean delivery was observed in 90% of cases. Conclusion: Maternal HIV seroprevalence was 0.33%, and vertical transmission prevalence was 2.8%. The f...

Objective. To know the indicators of placental insufficiency in term and post - term gestation with normal fetal growth and adverse outcome in the National Maternal Perinatal Institute during the year 2017. Materials and methods. A correlational, descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study was performed in 37-42 weeks' pregnant women with normal umbilical Doppler and normal fetal growth. We investigated the association between eight indicators and six adverse outcomes for placental insufficiency.
