El artículo enfatiza la importancia de establecer y estandarizar un protocolo efectivo y práctico para el manejo de la cetoacidosis diabética. Con ello se conseguirían mejores resultados y menos complicaciones en el paciente, y un menor riesgo de infección en el personal sanitario.

Artículo que explica como los estudios han destacado la asociación entre esta enfermedad y la mortalidad y la gravedad de la infección por SARS-CoV-2 en Perú y otros países, que están reconociendo la importancia de considerar la obesidad como una enfermedad y desarrollar estrategias efectivas de sistemas de salud y enfoques de salud pública.

Objetive: To issue contextualized recommendations for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients with heart failure. Materials and methods: GPC published in the last 3 years were systematically searched in databases, repositories, and guideline development organizations. Those that achieve a score >60% in the overall evaluation with the AGREE-II instrument were selected. From each guide, the recommendations with their respective clinical question were extracted. The acceptability and applicability of the recommendations to the Peruvian context were evaluated by medical specialists from different institutions in the country (MINSA, EsSalud and armed forces) using the ADAPTE matrix. Introduction: Only 3 types of coronavirus cause aggressive respiratory disease in humans (MERS-Cov, SARS-Cov-1, and SARS-Cov-2). It has been reported higher infection rates and severe manifestations (ICU admission, need for mechanical ventilation, and death) in patients with comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus (DM).
