In this paper we try to substantiate the need for including medical ethics and clinical bioethics in the studying plan for medical schools. This need arises because of the brand new situations generated by the current medical technology developments, which oblige us to be particularly respectful in dealing with bioethical principles and with the rights of human beings in order to have the most adequate framework for decision making with respect to medical procedures or interventions. We also discuss the teaching-learning processes, the adequate timing for teaching medical ethics, and the role of medical school teachers for achieving their educational and research objectives.

This study addresses the need for a sustainable tourism model that combines agroecology and cultural heritage in the Ezequiel Zamora Botanical Garden, Alto Barinas Parish, Barinas Municipality, Venezuela. The purpose is to identify, characterize, and value agroecological and heritage tourism resources to design a sustainable route that benefits visitors and the local community. A qualitative participatory approach was used, revealing a territory with agricultural, natural, and cultural potential, although the lack of infrastructure and limited community integration are key challenges to developing a sustainable tourism route. It is concluded that, to diversify the agroecological tourism offering and foster sustainable development, it is essential to empower the community, overcome limitations in participation, and strengthen tourism infrastructure, promoting a holistic approach that inte...

The Covid-19 pandemic allowed a paradigm shift to all destinations in the world, where the tourism system took advantage of the face-to-face gap in educational institutions or centers, integrating virtual learning teaching environments (VEA) for training in tourism agroecological. This article seeks to disseminate the management indicators of the training in agroecological tourism from the Moodle platform, in turn a qualitative investigation was carried out with the method of systematization of educational experiences, with a descriptive design - field and documentary techniques. In addition, Venturagro Unellez VPDS managed to train 2,518 participants, 70% women and 30% men, using the Moodle platform as a tool for easy access and management, strengthening their knowledge through the EVEA, providing skills and abilities in ICT management. , through training and education in agroecological...

The aim of this study was to evaluate the ruminal kinetics of the degradation of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP) and neutral detergent fibre (NDF) of oat silage - potato foliage, in the ratio of 70:30, including four levels of wheat bran (0, 10, 20, 30%, based on the natural matter of the ensiled mass). A factorial randomized block design of 4 x 6 (levels, times) with three replications was used. Three Brown Swiss cattle with ruminal fistula were used. Samples (5 g) were placed in a nylon bag and incubated for 4, 8, 12, 24, 48 and 72 h. Zero time (t0) was used to calculate the soluble fraction. The disappearance (degradability) of DM, CP and NDF showed a quadratic result, observing an increase in the degradability of these nutrients up to the optimum level of 27.64, 22.64 and 27.80% inclusion of wheat bran in oat silage - potato foliage for 48 h of incubation, respectively. Except fo...

This is the third ethics symposium published by the Peruvian Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (RPGO) in the last 11 years, given the importance of this discipline for medical practice, especially for the gynecologist-obstetrician(1,2). Because of the topic’s transcendence, the Peruvian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SPGO) hosted an event in 2009, highlighting various issues in sexual and reproductive health ethics(3). That same year, the Society participated in a Values Clarification Workshop in Trinidad, Bolivia(4).

Objective: To describe and delimit the psychiatric vocation process and its associated factors. Design: Transversal, qualitative, descriptive and comparative study of cases. Methodology: Previous informed consent in depth audio-recorded interviews were carried out in two groups selected by criteria of heterogeneity, 45 psychiatrists currently in practice and 61 residents in psychiatry. Results and conclusions: Psychiatric vocation includes several dimensions. It considers the person as an integral being, showing strong interest on the psychological part of the patient and a need to reduce the suffering caused by mental illness. In the group of psychiatrists, the psychiatric vocation showed itself as more consolidated and genuine. In the group of residents, psychiatric vocation appeared as a weak and in some cases inexistent process. Several residents chose psychiatry as a career on accou...

The present study aimed to determine the bromatological composition of the vetch silage associated with barley in five proportions and two levels of urea. A completely randomized design with three repetitions in a factorial scheme of 5 x 2 (proportions, urea) was used. The ratios of vetch and barley were: 0: 100, 25:75, 50:50, 75:25 and 100:0, respectively. Urea was added in 0 and 1% levels on a dry matter basis. Micro silos of PVC tubes 10 cm (diameter) x 60 cm (height) were used for 121 days. Samples were taken from the silos to determine dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fibre (NDF), acid detergent fibre (ADF), hemicellulose, mineral matter (MM) and pH. The vetch:barley 50:50, 75:25 and 100:0 without urea had higher DM content than the ammonified silages (p<0.05). The CP increased linearly in the silages with and without urea, especially the vetch/barley ammoni...

Objective. To describe and delimit the surgical vocation process and associated factors. Design. Selected cases cross-sectional study qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed with descriptive purpose. Methods. Previous informed consent in depth audio-recorded interviews was carried out in 40 surgeons in current professional practice. Main outcome measures. Surgical vocation. Results. Males represented 95%; mean age was 65 years (41-86), mean medical experience 35.4 years (10-68), surgical experience 30.2 years (03-59). Training centers: 85% had university surgical training and 15% non-university training. Surgical vocation is a process that can begin in different periods of the life`s cycle. When it does before university studies (17.5% of the studied sample) it is mainly associated to strong family influence (parents or uncles surgeons). More frequently (80%) it emerges during medical ...
