El objetivo de este artículo es describir la rehabilitación de un paciente masculino de 76 años de edad con enfermedad periodontal, mediante una prótesis telescópica. Donde se realizó un tratamiento interdisciplinario, que incluyo, el tratamiento periodontal, la cirugía y la rehabilitación con una prótesis telescópica; logrando rehabilitar de forma exitosa su función y estética. El paciente manifiesta sentirse cómodo desde la instalación de la prótesis telescópica y del mismo modo, expresa que puede realizar su higiene diaria de forma más sencilla. Lo cual se evidencia a los 6 meses de control, donde se observa una buena salud periodontal de los pilares telescópicos. Los frenillos aberrantes son considerados comúnmente como factor etiológico del diastema de la línea media y el retraso del desarrollo del maxilar superior; asmismo es causante de problemas periodontales, ortodónticos y estéticos. Estos son pliegues delgados con fibras musculares cerradas que unen la mucosa de los labios al periostio alveolar subyacente. En el presente trabajo se revisan los antecedentes sobre el frenillo labial aberrante, que proporcionara una evidencia adecuada donde se expone la etiología, diagnostico, alternativas de tratamiento, para así poder realizar un adecuado manejo de un frenillo aberrante en una paciente de 8 años de edad.

The removal of alveolar bone and periodontal ligament due to periodontal disease oftenrequires a surgical approach to reshape the biological structure and functions of theperiodontium. Hydrogel, a functional polymeric material, has emerged as a promising technology for periodontal disease therapies. It has the versatility to mimic the extracellular matrix and provide suitable binding sites and growth environments for periodontal cells, with high biocompatibility, water retention, and slow release. A review of the past 5 years of literature has been conducted, summarizing the main components of hydrogel in periodontal tissue regeneration.

Supernumerary teeth are dental units that appear in addition to the regular number of teeth. Their most common location is at the level of the anterior midline of the maxilla, known as mesiodens, but they can also be paramedian; or in the position of a lateral incisor. This article reviews the case of an inverted permanent supernumerary mesiodens in a child aged 15 years and 3 months. The patient was non-syndromic and did not have any other supernumerary teeth in the permanent dentition. Using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) of the region, we were able to assess the position, structure, and shape of the supernumerary, as well as establish an adequate treatment plan. The aim of this paper was to present this anomalous case of an inverted supernumerary tooth located in the palate, and to include a review of the literature on the few reported cases of this type.

Objective. The purpose of this review was to gather scientifc evidenceon the clinical results obtained by using the Bichat’s adipose body (BAB)in the treatment of gingival recessions. Methods. The PubMed, Cochraneand Wiley Online Library databases were reviewed. Using the followingsearch terms: “buccal” AND “adipose tissue” OR “fat pad” AND “coverage” AND “gingival recession”. By combining searches and fltering only documents that contain the English-language review target, only 9 articles that meet the inclusion criteria were generated. Results. The review of gingivitis and periodontitis, if not properly prevented, can lead to the loss of teeth. In order to have the necessary guideline is that a review is madefrom the etiology to the means such as probiotics and vaccines, which couldmake clearer the prevalence of periodontal diseases. In this study, a documentary analysis was carried out based on a search on the subject in bibliographic references of the last 6 years, in the Medline and PubMed databases. Review and research articles related to the topic through the title were evaluated. Thosetopics that did not comply with the database were excluded. The purpose is to review a variety of concepts on the prevention of periodontal disease to allow a clearer understanding of what prevents the implementation of periodontal disease, for the patient and public health.

X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) is the most common hereditary form of rickets and osteomalacia. It results from dysregulated fbroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) due to a mutation in the PHEX gene, leading to decreased tubular phosphate reabsorption, reduced renal 1a-hydroxylase activity, and increased renal 24-hydroxylase activity. Patients with XLH present with rickets and osteomalacia, severe lower limb deformities, bone and muscle pain, growth retardation, and reduced quality of life. As a multisystemic disorder, XLH requires a multidisciplinary approach involving highly specialized felds. For this reason, the principle of discussing the changes observed in the oral cavity and thus also the treatment measures is outlined. 

  After research done in recent years it has been shown that periodontal disease and inflammatory bowel disease can develop, since this is a disease that has been a global health problem with a sustained increasing incidence and when there is a susceptibility in populations that had periodontitis. Inflammatory bowel disease is compromised by host genetics, daily diet, and gut microbiota, and authenticity appears to be shared with those of periodontal disease. The key etiologies of both diseases remain unclear, making it difficult to explore possible links between periodontal disease and inflammatory bowel disease. This study predisposes the coincidences that occur in these two diseases. 

The present report is intended to reach an idea about the “All-On-Four” treatment, about the simple of the clinical procedure and the pro and cons that they give to do; focusing mainly on the indications of treatment, surgical procedures and prosthetic protocols, and secondly on the mechanical and biological complications involved. A search was executed in Pubmed and Cochrane, with the descriptors ("All-on-Four"), ("Dental Implants"), ("Complication of All-On-Four"), ("Management of All-On-Four") and ("Techniques "), Where the research works evidenced by the prosthetic and surgical approach of the "All-On-Four" implants, as well as their consequences, was analyzed. Green tea, or Camellia sinensis, is a type of unfermented tea that contains natural substances found in fresh leaves. It is considered the second most popular drink in the world after water. This review extensively examines the phytochemistry of green tea, as it exhibits antioxidant, anticancer, hypoglycemic, antibacterial, antiviral and neuroprotective pharmacological activities. Consequently, green tea has demonstrated promising practical applications for healthcare and disease prevention. Objetivo: Evaluar el conocimiento y las actitudes sobre el manejo de los residuos producidos en los consultorios particulares, y si estas se plasman en la práctica diaria. El presente reporte tiene como objetivo principal realizar una revisión de la evidencia científica para poder realizar un abordaje adecuado para el tratamiento del mucocele bucal, lesión que se origina de las glándulas salivales menores, siendo muy frecuente su presencia en el labio inferior, teniendo como causa principal al traumatismo que puede afectar a esta zona tan propensa y expuesta a los mismos, donde se puede ocasionar una extravasación originando la presencia de esta lesión benigna. Todo el procedimiento de etiología, diagnóstico y tratamiento se evidencia en los antecedentes para poder abordar de forma adecuada un caso clínico.

La endodoncia es un tratamiento que ene como objetivo evitar la pérdida de dientes, donde las lesiones cariosas han comprometido su vitalidad. Una parte importante de este tratamiento, es el uso de las soluciones químicas, que son esenciales para lograr desinfectar y limpiar exitosamente los conductos radiculares durante el procedimiento. Este reporte ene como objetivo presentar una revisión bibliográfica actualizada de las diferentes interacciones que se pueden presentar entre las sustancias irrigadoras de uso frecuente y así poder tener en cuenta los beneficios y/o efectos secundarios de cada una de estas asociaciones.

Los probióticos representan una alternativa para mantener la salud mediante la utilización de las bacterias naturales beneficiosas. Estos han sido muy estudiados por lograr mejorar la salud del sistema digestivol. Sin embargo, en los últimos años se vienen haciendo investigaciones en el mantenimiento y el tratamiento de la enfermedad periodontal. Se presenta un caso clínico con un seguimiento de un año, donde se describe el procedimiento de implante inmediato y preservación del reborde con la técnica de extracción parcial: socket shield. Esta técnica consiste en conservar una porción de la raíz con su ligamento periodontal, permitiendo la instalación y función inmediata de un implante. Los resultados muestran la preservación de la cortical vestibular y el perfil de emergencia. Se observa también que es una técnica predecible, que acorta el tiempo de tratamiento y que obtiene un buen resultado tanto estético como funcional.

A la fecha, se han descrito varios procedimientos para lograr conservar el reborde alveolar después de la extracción dental. La técnica Socket Shield se introdujo en el año 2010, y consiste en conservar una porción vestibular de la raíz del diente e instalar un implante dental inmediato.
