We use a set of VAR models with time-varying parameters and stochastic volatility (TVP-VARSV) to estimate the evolution of the exchange rate pass-through (ERPT) into prices for Peru over 1995Q2-2019Q4. According to two Bayesian selection criteria, the best-fitting models allow most parameters and the variances of shocks to evolve over time. The results are divided into two parts: (i) the ERPTs into import and producer prices decline significantly since the end of the 1990s until 2008. However, since 2014 both ERPTs resurge considerably due to exchange rate depreciation associated with the end of Quantitative Easing (QE), falling commodity prices, and global political events. These findings are in line with recent literature using TVP-VARSV and emphasizing ERTP resurgence after the Global Financial Crisis (GFC); (ii) the ERPT into consumer prices declined steadily throughout the sample. Objective. Establish the factors that determine the demand for tourism resources in the province of Huánuco, Huánuco region, Peru for the year 2019. Methods. The research was of an applied type, adopting a descriptive-correlational level and a non-experimental design. A structured survey questionnaire was used to collect data from a sample of 360 households in the province of Huánuco. The units of analysis were individuals between 18 and 64 years of age who reside in the houses. Likewise, statistical associations (Spearman's rho) were estimated to determine the relationship between the variables under study. Results. They are divided into two parts: (i) through descriptive statistical analysis, it was found that the factors that determine the demand for tourism resources are: economic factors, people's tastes and preferences, and the promotion of said tourism resources; (ii) based on ...

Objective. To determine the impact of having Regular Basic Education (EBR) studies on the  condition of being poor in the population of the Huánuco region (Peru), for the period 2010-2020. Methods. The research was applied, adopted an explanatory level and a non-experimental design. Human capital theory and data from the National Household Survey were used as a theoretical basis for the estimation of a probit model. Results. It was found that people with secondary education are less likely to be poor. In particular, it was found that the probability of being monetarily poor of a person with initial, primary and secondary education decreases by 0.11 pp, 2.19 pp and 3.60 pp, respectively. Conclusions. It is concluded that having a higher level of RBS education leads to a greater decrease in the probability of being poor from the monetary approach to poverty.

Objective. Determine the factors that explain school dropout in the Huánuco region, Peru, for the period 2010 - 2020. Methods. The research was of an applied type, it adopted an explanatory level and a non-experimental design. Two perspectives on school dropout (individual and institutional perspective) and data from the National Household Survey were used as a theoretical basis for the estimation of a logistic regression model. Results. It was found that the probability of school dropout increases: (i) regarding socioeconomic factors, if the student belongs to a household with a low socioeconomic level (2.985 pp.), lives in a single-parent family (0.234 pp.), has dropout parent’s basic education (4,013 pp.); (ii) regarding personal factors, if the student is older (0.801 pp.), or is male (0.856 pp.), or has the need to work (1.986 pp.). Conclusions. It is established that the socioec...

Objective. To analyze the influence of the implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 Standard on the quality management system of the sanitation services provider company of the Huanuco region (EPS SEDA-Huanuco) for the year 2018. Methods. Due to its purpose, the research was characterized as basic. It had a descriptive-correlational level and adopted a non-experimental design. The data were obtained in two ways: (i) application of a survey questionnaire addressed to the operational and administrative personnel and senior management of the EPS; (ii) the database on user satisfaction applied by the EPS itself. On this basis, correlations between the variables were estimated. Results. Evidence was found indicating that the implementation of ISO 9001 has a positive relationship with user satisfaction (rho=0.81), service quality assurance (rho=0.78) and overall EPS improvement (rho=0.82) during 20...

Objective. To determine the relationship between results-based management and the public procurement processes carried out by the professionals of the Rural Agricultural Productive Development Program (AGRORURAL) of the Huánuco zonal directorate, 2019. Methods. The research is characterized by being of a basic type, with a descriptive-correlational level and a non-experimental design. The Public Management Theory focused on performance budgeting and government contracting is used. For data collection, a survey questionnaire was applied to professionals and officials of AGRORURAL-Huánuco; based on this, Spearman correlation coefficients were estimated. Results. There is evidence of a positive relationship between results-based management and contracting processes (rho=0.71). Likewise, a positive relationship was found between results-based management and the programming phase (rho=0.74)...
