Objective: To analyze the knowledge, attitudes and practices that oral health teachers have in primary schools in Quito and San Cristobal Island (Galapagos), Ecuador. Methods: The research began with the validation of the self-surveyed survey on knowledge, attitudes and practices on oral health in teachers (CAPS teachers). Subsequently, this instrument delivered to 61 teachers from the two schools selected for the study. The descriptive statistics of these data were obtained, including the absolute and relative frequencies of the responses obtained. Results: The average score obtained in the total evaluation of the 61 teachers was 11.97 ± 2.37 points. When the data were analyzed by schools, the Quito school obtained an average of 12.06 ± 2.29, while the Galapagos school obtained an average of 11.29 ± 3.04 points. Objectives. To assess whether the establishment and execution of regular oral hygiene habits, measured through the visible plaque index and gingival bleeding index, influenced the durability of adhesive restorations performed in children between 4-8 years old who accomplished inclusion and exclusion criteria previously determined.Materials and methods. Objectives: To compare the efficiency of the natural sweetener Stevia prepared as aqueous extract, both industrial and commercialformulas, on the growth of mutans streptococci and streptococcus sanguis. Objective. To determine the antibacterial effect of the ethanolic extract of green tea (Camellia sinensis) and propolis at a concentration of 10, 20 and 30% at 24 and 48 hours on Streptococcus mutans. Methods. Objective: Determine the prevalence of fluorosis in children of 10 to 12 years of the canton Colta Province Chimborazo and relate its presence with the percentage of fluorine present in drinking water and other associated factors. Materials and Methods: An epidemiological, observational and descriptive study was conducted with a sample of 219 children enrolled in the canton's educational units, which met the pre-established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Objective: Evaluate the surface roughness, weight and color of a composite resin, submitted to two finish and polish systems, after contact with beer and rum. Objective: To evaluate the oral health knowledge of mothers of children under two years of age who attended a health center in the city of Sangolquí, Rumiñahui, province of Pichincha (Ecuador), between February and August 2015. Materials and method: 64 mothers randomly selected, after signing the informed consent and verification of compliance with the established inclusion criteria, were questioned about knowledge, practices and attitudes regarding the oral hygiene of their children and also about their socioeconomic conditions. Results: 31.25% reported an age between 26 to 30 years, 35.94% married civil status, current higher education was the most frequent level in 31.25%. In Ecuador, there is a high prevalence and incidence of different oral pathologies, this scenario is similar in several countries in the region. Oral diseases constitute a Public Health issue, since they involve a high investment in their management and control.
