Design and evaluation of the expression of a potential DNA vaccine against Tilapia lake virus (TiLV)

Tilapia Lake Virus (TiLV) is a pathogen that causes massive mortalities in both cultured and wild tilapia populations around the world. The development of an effective vaccine against this emerging pathogen is imperative to prevent economic losses. In this work an expression vector was designed and evaluated as a potential DNA vaccine against this virus. Initially, a threading analysis was done to predict the three-dimensional structures and functions of the TiLV proteins. Structural homologies were found between the TiLV proteins corresponding to the genomic segment 1 and the genomic segment 4, with the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase proteins of the influenza B virus (56%) and the neuraminidase protein belonging to the influenza A virus capsid (12%), respectively. En la década pasada efectuamos el primer levantamiento planimétrico y topográfico del importante Monumento Arqueológico Incahuasi de Parinacochas, ubicado a orillas del Lago Parinacochas a los 3300 msnm, en la parte sur de Ayacucho, en esa oportunidad identificamos características muy semejantes al de los sitios Inca como Tambo Real y Pirca Pirca asociados al Pariacaca.Varios autores habían señalado la importancia del sitio, basados principalmente en la monumentalidad de la kallanca con el fino almohadillado Inca, además de asociarla a una función estratégica administrativa y hasta religiosa por ubicarse y asociarse al camino transversal costa-sierra proveniente desde Arequipa por el oeste y luego con dirección este a la sierra en asociación al Nevado Sara Sara para luego dirigirse al Cusco.

El objetivo de este trabajo fue aplicar el programa GECOTOXIC para la predicción de riesgo ambiental sobre la mortandad de peces en la bahía interior del lago Titicaca, Puno-Perú. Para ello, el estudio se efectuó en marzo del 2013, donde la zona de análisis correspondió al área de Chimú. Se realizó, previamente, un muestreo de tipo probabilístico aleatorio, mientras que el método cuantitativo de investigación fue empírico tanto de observación como de medición. Objective: Mutations in the ABCB1 gene have an impact on the response to various drugs and may be associated with the development of neoplasms. This study explores and compares the frequency distribution of the 1236T>C polymorphism in theABCB1 gene among nine Peruvian populations from different geographical origins and altitudes, as well as the genotype/allele frequencies reported in populations from various continents worldwide.
