The purpose of this study was to develop and test a methodological approach to optimizing the business processes of the leather industry company of the Republic of Iraq on the basis of a series of sequential steps, including both assessing the individual parameters of the differentiation of the competitive strategy and identifying problem areas for further setting up business processes. In this work, a torque controller for a variable rotational speed wind turbine has been modelled using Reinforcement Learning and considering the Optimal Torque - Maximum Power Point Tracking problem as one of optimization. The reward optimization function is designed as a non-linear function depending mainly on the rotor power variation. Based on this, an optimal action (electromagnetic torque variation) regulates the turbine rotational speed. A simulated 1.5 MW three bladed wind turbine operation is managed by the torque controller. It keeps the turbine working at optimal operational conditions after a successful training process, which is carried out using the Proximal Policy Optimization algorithm. The sample that is the subject of study is a concentrate mainly of gold pyrite, product of the flotation process, from Empresa Minera Aurífera Calpa S.A. The characterization of the concentrate in the UNMSM polarized light microscope shows the presence of pyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, electrum, marcasite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, rutile and gangue. In the polished briquette corresponding to the +100 mesh, the presence of electrum has been observed. People with upper extremity disabilities often face significant challenges when attempting to book medical appointments through conventional online booking systems. These barriers can hinder their ability to access essential healthcare services in a timely manner. To address this problem, this research focuses on the development of an innovative medical appointment booking system that uses voice interaction, complemented by a chatbot interface, to improve the user experience for people with upper extremity disabilities. As a result, a marked improvement in medical appointment booking times was achieved, increasing satisfaction and compliance levels among all users.

The present article develops a number of classical economic-financial applications in continuous time based on the software Stella (Isee Systems, Inc.). The problems under analysis basically deal with modeling projected free cash flows and investments, and their Net Present Value estimation, a process which in many cases may require numerical integration. The document shows how Stella allows construction of a model in a simple fashion, and with it to make simulations that give graphical solutions, as is the case of the decision of the optimal harvest time, or the selection between alternative projects, among others.

Humans are at the heart of crucial processes in warehouses. Besides the common economic goal of minimising cycle times, we therefore add in this paper the human well-being goal of minimising workers’ discomfort in the context of order picking. We propose a methodology for identifying the most suitable storage location solutions with respect to both goals. The first step in our methodology is to build data-driven empirical models for estimating cycle times and workers’ discomfort. The second step of the methodology entails the use of these empirically grounded models to formulate a bi-objective assignment problem for assigning products to storage locations.
