The design of new methodological perspectives that combine different translation theories with the practice of translation is a difficult task in the area of translation didactics. The need to include changes in the teaching of specialized translation represents a challenge for teachers of Technical Translation of the English Public Translation graduate program at the School of Languages of Universidad Nacional del Comahue (Argentina). The methodological perspective applied to the translation of technical texts brings together different didactic strategies so as to modify the traditional methodology. This work aims at describing activities, focused on collaborative work and project-based learning, that students of Technical Translation carry out in order to foster autonomy in their own learning process with the teacher´s role as a facilitator of the process. It is believed that the appl...

The research was focused on Translation and Interpreting students enrolled in Taller General Inglés I course during the 2020-II semester at the Faculty of Humanities of a Private University in Lima, who are beginning to have their first contact with the translation practice. Therefore, it is common for students to make mistakes in their translations at this stage. However, beyond penalizing errors and seeing them as negative aspects, Hurtado (2001) considers that errors in translation should be used as a key tool for students' learning, so that they themselves develop a critical and analytical sense in their translations as part of their teaching and learning process. Our main objective was to identify the types of errors made by students of Taller General Inglés I, specifically those errors that affect comprehension and expression. For this purpose, we selected a sample of 23 st...

Through a number of comprehensive reviews, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) has recommended that healthcare organizations develop safety cultures to align delivery system processes with the workforce requirements to improve patient outcomes. Until health systems can provide safer care environments, patients remain at risk for suboptimal care and adverse outcomes. Health science researchers have begun to explore how safety cultures might act as an essential system feature to improve organizational outcomes. Since safety cultures are established through modification in employee safety perspective and work behavior, human resource (HR) professionals need to contribute to this developing organizational domain. The IOM indicates individual employee behaviors cumulatively provide the primary antecedent for organizational safety and quality outcomes. Yet, many safety culture scholars indicate th...

In this work we critically approach the figure of the illicit association from a double perspective: historical and constitutional, questioning its theoretical foundations and its jurisprudential use. We connect your employment with arbitrary criminal proceedings where procedural guarantees are usually violated. We recover its political history in times of witch hunts, when the term „subversive association“ is born, in times of persecution of the coven, taken by many contemporary historians (especially feminist as Silvia Federici) as forms of resistance to new forms of organization of rural property (since behind the witch hunt was the expansion of rural capitalism) or resistance to the privatization of land in Europe. We conclude, making a parallel with the witch hunt (political criminalization program), that the alternative to the constant and growing criminalization of marginaliz...

The problem posed in this investigation is that a mutual fund management company maintained traditional processes of subscription and redemption of quotas in the funds, which caused great economic inefficiencies and discontent among clients. That is why the objective of this research was to propose a proposal to improve customer service processes through the application of a digital transformation through agile methodologies such as Design Thinking and Lean Startup through quasi-experimental practical research. In this way, it was possible to increase profits and customer experience. After the implementation, it was evidenced that thanks to this, the number of AUMs and participants increased by +15% per month and +55%, since the implementation, respectively, translating, later, into higher profits for the company (+10%).

In the age of the Internet, anonymous online users can form a societal reaction by posting large quantities of critique and insulting comments against (perceived) norm violations on social media. These so-called online firestorms, or Enjō in Japanese, tend to include aggressive behavior against the target. This research aims to reveal the dynamics of Enjō and explores how people communicate with each other in the formation process of Enjō by conducting a comparative case study. This study collects tweets posted in five Enjō cases and compares each case to create conceptual categories of the communication process of Enjō. Results show that the participants of Enjō interact with each other to define the problem of concern through exchange of information. Moreover, it is revealed that there are two types of process in the escalation of Enjō, “social problematization” and “villa...

Latin America has not been unaffected by situations of armed conflict or other situations of violence. These situations require analysis from both theoretical and practical approaches. A key component of these analysis has been - and continues to be - the need to guarantee the compatibility of national legal systems with International Criminal Law, with the aim of fighting against impunity and to prevent the commission of international crimes. This translates into the need to carry out a comprehensive implementation of obligations arising from relevant treaties in this area ratified by States. This factor could guarantee that countries in the region have adequate legal tools to make a correct legal assessment of armed conflicts or situations of violence which may amount to international crimes and crimes related to the use of force by State agents; in order to apply the relevant legal fr...

Knowledge translation (KT) in Public Health involves the use of scientific evidence by decision makers when generating health policies directed to accelerate the benefits resulting from research and innovation in health system and ultimately people´s health. In this paper we review the definitions and conceptual frameworks related to systematization of KT processes. The different approaches to KT share the concept that KT is composed by two main elements: a product (information) developed through scientific method with a friendly format for the target public and an action devoted to support or promote a health related practice using the aforementioned product. The understanding and application of KT is a key element for effective use of knowledge in decision making.
