Technological advances have allowed to collect and store large volumes of data over the years. Besides, it is significant that today's applications have high performance and can analyze these large datasets effectively. Today, it remains a challenge for data mining to make its algorithms and applications equally efficient in the need of increasing data size and dimensionality [1]. To achieve this goal, many applications rely on parallelism, because it is an area that allows the reduction of cost depending on the execution time of the algorithms because it takes advantage of the characteristics of current computer architectures to run several processes concurrently [2]. This paper proposes a parallel version of the FuzzyPred algorithm based on the amount of data that can be processed within each of the processing threads, synchronously and independently.

The resolution of triangular systems is a computational nucleus widely used in various scientific applications. This research performs the implementation and comparison of several parallel algorithms against an efficient sequential algorithm for solving triangular systems. The algorithms are distinguished by the way of partitioning the matrix and the allocation to the processors. The analysis of the behavior of the algorithms is performed in the solution of systems of linear superior triangular equations in a cluster of computers. For this, the arithmetic time, communication time, speed-up, and maximum efficiency metrics are taken into account. Experiments were performed for each algorithm with different matrix sizes on various processors. The algorithm with the best results was the one that blocks the rows of the matrix and applies a cyclical distribution in the cluster.

In the present article, I propose some initial topics for the typological-comparative study of semantic parallelism, which also serve as an analytical axis to study semantic parallelism in traditional kakataibo chants. These basic topics are the structure of the cotext, lexical and grammatical type of parallel units, type of semantic relations between parallel units, number of parallel units per pair of lines, and associated phenomena such as recurrent or fixed pairing and diphrasism. Following this initial proposal, I postulate that the cotext in Kakataibo semantic parallelism is a repeated morphosyntactic structure that does not exhibit ellipsis or increasing, the number of parallel units can be one to three slots and one pair is more productive, parallel units are related by semantic fields such as kinship terms and colors. Furthermore, I analyze the interaction of semantic parallelis...

Nowadays, some of the most popular tools for parallel programming are Message Passing Interface and Open Multi-Processing. It is of interest to compare these tools in solving the same kind of problems, because of the use of different approaches to inter-task communication. This work attempts to contribute to this goal by running trials in a centralized shared memory architecture in the case of problems with an entirely parallel solution. The selected case study was the parallel computation of Mandelbrot set. Trials were conducted for different iteration limits, processors amount, and C++ implementation variants. The results show better performance in the case of Open Multi-Processing.

The study had the objective of analyzing the psychometric properties of the Brief Academic Procrastination Scale (EBPA-16). The sample was non-probabilistic and intentional, represented by 478 university students (59.8% women and 40.2% men) from Lima Sur, aged between 18 and 33 years. The study was of the instrumental type, where the EBPA-16 was constructed and applied, made up of 16 items distributed in two dimensions, with a Lickert-type response scale with 5 response options. The results demonstrated the presence of content validity due to Aiken’s V values greater than .80. Homogeneity indices were found in the items (ritc >.20) and multicollinearity was rejected (ritc <.95). For the analysis of the validity based on the internal structure, the existence of a two-dimensional model was demonstrated by means of the AFE with a Pearson correlation matrix and a dimensionality...

ABSTRACT This research explored evidences of internal structure and convergent validity as well as reliability of a Spanish version of the Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R) in Peruvian college students. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were carried out sequentially in two randomly assigned sub-groups (n = 289, n = 301). Horn’s parallel analysis and exploratory factor analysis performed with the first subgroup found a structure of three factors (anxiety, avoidance directly measured and avoidance inversely measured). Then, confirmatory factor analysis carried out with the second sub-group replicated a three-factor model with acceptable adjustment indices. Each dimension showed good internal consistency trough Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The results partially support convergent validity of the ECR-R with the Relationship Questionnaire. Finally, a 27-item S...

In Peru the growth of the informal economy is associated to the population’s growth, the scarce growth of the economy and the shortage of work sources. It is calculated that the informal economy in our country is equivalent to 35% of the PBI and 60% of work. The informal economy is not an exclusive phenomenon of the developing countries. Today the globalization of the economy has evidenced that the practice of producing wealth and creating employment outside of the legal context is also a phenomenon of the developed world. The magnitude of the informal economy in the developing countries and in the developed countries doesn’t appear in the official statistics of the Bills, for what it is ignored with accuracy its measure and incidence on the National Economy, what constitutes a great limitation in the design of the economical policies, the fiscal policies and the tributary policies a...

The principle of exhaustion of rights is one of the most discussed matters in intellectual property law, forming part of a debate that has not culminated in a global agreement. However, its application is present in all countries and the evaluation of its scope has deserved the attention of the doctrine and the courts of justice of the world. This work focuses on the field of trademarks and tries to show a gene ral perspective on the exhaustion of the right in its presence in international trade, through parallel imports. Likewise, it includes some of the economic reasons that support the existence or restriction of parallel imports, as well as an analysis of their regulation in international trade law.

One of the factors that determine the productivity inside a company is the state of the machinery with which is counted for the production. Our objective was to design a system that allows the engineers to supervise and to evaluate the state of the machinery, so that this in sot only repaired when it doesn't work, but rather one has the possibility to take a periodic registration of the operation of the same one. With it, it'll be possible to identify the flaws of the machinery in their diverse evolutionary phases. This will allow to carry out an appropriate correction of the problem diminishing the maintenance cost and, therefore, to stop the machinery for a smaller period of time. The system that we have designed in compound for a card of acquisition that will allow to capture and to transfer the mechanical vibrations of the machinery toward analysis software that allows the engineers ...

Three sets of geoglyphs present in the Paracas and Nasca desert areas are associated with the Andean myth of the Fox in the Sky. A discoursive parallelism has been identified between the geoglyphs and the myth, establishing the geoglyphs as graphycally rendering scenes of the myth in two cases. In the third case, the characters are present but dispersed. The myth narrates the trip of the two main characters, the Fox and the Condor to the skies. They are later joined by the Parrot. The result of the mythical actions is the apparition of vegetable species on Earth, especially the oca. These edibles are also delineated on the Nasca Plains. These geoglyphic sets have been produced, in different styles in the places mentioned, in succesive periods. The myth, found from the Peruvian Central Andes to the Northern areas of Argentina and Chile, is still narrated today.

The research paper analyzes the stability of the global slope, in six types of hydrothermal alteration present in the open pit Jésica, identifies the isotropic rock mass, that is, it does not have preferential orientation of discontinuities and anisotropic taking into account the parallel or sub-parallel discontinuities to the slope. For the slope stability analysis of the isotropic and anisotropic rock mass, the Generalized Hoek-Brown and Generalized Anisotropic failure criteria were used respectively, both in Slide 6.0 software. Two sets of discontinuities sub-parallel to the slope were considered in the anisotropic stability analysis F1 (dip from 72° to 82°) y F2 (dip from 45° to 55°). The safety factors obtained considering the anisotropic rock mass are up to 29% lower than those obtained in the isotropic rock mass; as well as the higher quality of the rock mass, the greater the...

This paper initially describes aspects of the modeling of structures equipped with energy dissipators Shear Link Bozzo (SLB) and develops two iterative design procedures to select these devices. This methodology is applied to a precast 5-story reinforced concrete building. The SLB energy dissipation devices are initially stiff, but ductile with a range of yielding forces from 36 kN to 900 kN characterized by 52 + 52 standard devices. Moreover, these devices can be combined in parallel giving a very wide range of possibilities for selection and corresponding structural response. Therefore, to simplify its automatic selection, this article presents two procedures: (1) direct iteration and (2) inverse or fixed force iteration. Both procedures were implemented in an automatic application or “plugin” for the ETABS program that automates its selection for a specific structural system or ar...

This study is a metaphysical essay defining Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), through a series of Business Ethics texts covering the subject. The selected texts are written by Argentinean and Spanish authors rooted in the Social Teaching of the Church. The objective is to search the foundation of CSR as a moral obligation. The study begins with a logical approach, followed by a metaphysical one before engaging in ethical aspects. The meaning of «responsibility» and «CSR» concepts are defined. Regarding the concept’s metaphysical approach, the study is framed under Aristotelian categories of relationship and quality. From an ethical point of view, CSR is understood as a component of justice as virtue, and what specifically characterizes it is the acknowledgement of one’s own concurrence in the growth and development of the company’s relationship with its stakeholders. The q...

This work illustrates the extent to which the work of Ricardo Palma, set in Ica, has been developing, over the course of time, the iqueñidad as a feeling and passion for the terroir. It is established how this identity process that begins in the first decades of the 20th century, parallel to the forging of Peruvianness, the supreme objective of Palma, achieves the birth and strengthening of the iqueñidad, which in the current time is expressed in a formidable explosion of elements that allow to verify that the cultural management, the artistic creation, the educational management, and others have associated themselves with the urgent need to strengthen Ica’s cultural identity.

What we understand as informality existed a long time before the term was coined. For a better understanding of the phenomenon, it is necessary to trace the origins of those activities that over time have been carried outside the legal system that formally defines the modern nation-state. The article seeks to articulate the contemporary informal phenomenon to other ways of existing outside the law that have their origin in colonial regimes, characterized by the need to implement parallel government and legal systems. It is about understanding informality as a phenomenon typical of postcolonial situations and proposing ways out from that reading.
