Valdivia City suffered a transformation after its refoundation in 1647 as a walled city. During the XVII and the XVIII century a process of consecutive improvement for the walls or fences was pursuit. All this was a product of the climatic and geographic situations, as well as military engineering requirements. In this process two Turrets were built by the same quarter of the XVIII. Its origin was justified by the need of strengthening two points considered as strategic and vulnerable in the city. Moreover, population protection was not the only purpose, but also to consolidate the progress to other zones, which by that time were under mapuche-huilliche domain. During the second decade of the XX, both turrets were declared as Historical Monument. These are two postcards which identify the city, but they lack the meaning and sense by which they were built.

Este estudio de investigación se realizó en la empresa Minera Aurífera Retamas S.A. (MARSA), que está ubicado en distrito de Parcoy, provincia de Pataz, departamento de la Libertad, estando a una altura con respecto al nivel del mar de 3 900 m. MARSA es la quinta productora de oro a nivel nacional con cerca de 5,4% de la producción de oro, el cual tiene una producción diaria de 1 650 TM, teniendo una planta concentradora de su propiedad con una capacidad de 1 800 TM/día. La presente investigación se llevó a cabo en el C.P. Pampa Velarde, distrito de Supe, Provincia de Barranca, en el cultivo de fresa (Fragaria vesca L.) var. Sabrina, se tuvo como objetivo general: evaluar el efecto del Myclobutanil para el control de oídium (Sphaerotheca macularis (Wall.)), en fresa (F. vesca L.) var. Sabrina, en Barranca, en el cual se empleó el Diseño de Bloques Completamente al Azar (DBCA), con cuatro tratamientos y tres repeticiones en un área de 370 m2. El presente trabajo ha sido desarrollado en el ámbito de la zona carbonífera de la cuenca de Oyón y comprende el estudio geológico realizado con anterioridad, de igual manera considerando la enorme reserva probada y probable existente y la elaboración de una propuesta técnica – económica para la explotación de los mantos de carbón de la mina Pampahuay. La mina Pampahuay es un yacimiento carbonífero, se encuentra ubicada en un área despoblada del paraje Pampahuay a una altitud aproximada de 3,900 m.s.n.m. a unos 10 Km. de la ciudad de Oyón, distrito y provincia de Oyón, región Lima. This project was carried out under the financing of the "VI Competition of financing for research projects Private University of Tacna (UPT)". In this project, tests have been carried out on the piles and the death of masonry, which were built using the masonry unit to block II of the Martorell brickyard. With the results of the essays and the compilation of other essays carried out by our university students, the values of f'm and v'm have been determined. The base of all the studies has been elaborated a proposal of formula of the minimum density of the walls, which allows us to calculate the minimum length of the walls that is needed in a masonry building built with load-bearing walls of the blocker II so that it can resist a severe earthquake.

This research examines Offa’s Dyke as a historical and symbolic artifact that functioned as a boundary, edge, and frontier, territorial, political, and identitarian, within the context of the transition from Late Antiquity to the Middle Ages in the British Isles. The study focuses on a specific case within the broader framework of walls as strategies of spatial control. The objective of this article is to analyze the complex problem of border walls. Specifically, it introduces a legal lens to the issue in order to determine whether these border walls could affect the exercise of individual human rights. With this purpose in mind, the phenomenon of border walls is examined from historical and political perspectives, concluding that since the fall of the Berlin wall and the advent of globalization, these physical barriers stand as a significant contradiction to a world that is supposedly freer and more open.
