This study aims at systematizing and integrating research findings about Future Time Perspective (FTP) in Peruvian educational contexts. FTP is a motivational psychological variable that allows explaining the present behavior, considering goals set in the future.  The construct demonstrated its theoretical and empirical strength in different contexts. During the second half of the XXth Century Nuttin and Lens (1985) applied the variable in different fields, especially the educational one. Their proposal considered the cognitive and motivational properties of FTP; its density, extension and level of realism was then reported. Empirical research has been conducted to date under this theoretical background; however, a decade ago this concept was redirected to a multidimensional proposal conceptualized as Future Orientation (FO) considering three components: motivational, cognitive and beha...

Virus mitigation behavior has been and still is a powerful means to fight the COVID-19 pandemic irrespective of the availability of pharmaceutical means (e.g., vaccines). We drew on health behavior theories to predict health-protective (coping-specific) responses and hope (coping non-specific response) from health-related cognitions (vulnerability, severity, self-assessed knowledge, efficacy). In an extension of this model, we proposed orientation to internal (problem-focused coping) and external (country capability) coping resources as antecedents of health protection and hope; health-related cognitions were assumed as mediators of this link. We tested these predictions in a large multi-national multi-wave study with a cross-sectional panel at T1 (Baseline, March-April 2020; N = 57,631 in 113 countries) and a panel subsample at two later time points, T2 (November 2020; N = 3097) and T3 ...

In this research, the objective was to describe the perceptions that university students manifest of their formative process when moving from a face-to-face modality to a virtual one in the time of the SARS-CoV2 pandemic. The object of study was constructed from a sociological perspective that associated objective conditions and the corresponding production of subjectivities. Methodologically, three moments were recovered: 1) determination of social and technological capital; 2) construction of social classes from the determination of the volume and structure of capital; and 3) detection of student perceptions. The results (Cronbach's alpha of 0.913) establish that the lower the volume and structure of the students, the lower the academic performance, the less proclivity to an online work, the greater the need for academic accompaniment and the lower the institutional follow-up. By way o...

This article analyzes features of the author’s artistic research in which he investigates space and time through soundwalking, an immersive and embodied practice with the capacity to engage critical attention and reanimate otherwise familiar surroundings. Inspired by social geographer Doreen Massey’s (2005) conception of space as “a simultaneity of stories so far” and “always in the process of being made,” the author’s soundwalks explore the points of intersection at which space is produced. In this paper, the author analyzes the temporal and corporeal aspects of the soundwalking, and their approach based upon an initial capture of sound recordings while walking a particular route, before returning them to be experienced in their original context, thereby exploiting the consequent temporal shift. Through the deliberate blending of these field recordings with the live sounds...

This document is part of the currents of thought which recommended to deepen the epistemological foundations of current scientific disciplines. Its objective is to propose a vision on the epistemology of the administrative science, designed from the contributions of the critical epistemologies to modernity, guiding the research from the objectualization towards the situationality, rescuing the thought of Peter Drucker in his work, The Post-capitalist Society, (2004), which emphasizes that in today’s modern world dominated by organizations and the Administration, and, therefore, it is necessary to manage it properly. In our epistemological criticism of administrative knowledge we propose the search of an administrative paradigm(s) situated knowledge and a based on a cognitive relationship subject-subject that best explain our reality, our conflicts, paradoxes, challenges and challenges,...

Inaction has allowed unprecedented reflection, especially in peripheral countries, where inequalities inherent to the socioeconomic system have accelerated and exacerbated with the current health crisis. The critical analysis of normality, allows the discussion about the values that have allowed the reproduction of phenomena harmful to life. For many authors, this is a time when the political possibility opens up, to dispute future development trends. The new normality is presented as a possibility imposed from above or as one built from the grassroots where the key is the creation of a new conceptual framework, consistent with the current political responsibility, which provides social movements, with the theoretical support for their renewal and for the creation of new strategies. that allow a basic democratic response to the tendencies of repression and state violence.

Twelve years after the resurgence of the left in Latin America, we are now witnessing its dawn and the emergence of the right. In the present article, the author asks if this situation responds to a situational crisis of the progressive governments of Latin America or, if in reality, we are witnessing the failure of these alternative projects that only produced cosmetic changes. The author analyzes the failed attempt to create new rules in the international system, national politics and the regional construction by the progressive governments, because of the use of outdated means —based on schemes and concepts of the Cold War— in a different global context. The article begins with a general exposition of the progressive proposals to later analyze the cases of Brazil and Venezuela, ending with conclusions of the main hypothesis.

The article reveals the current problems of the modern family, in which the relationship and behavior of parents are a factor in the formation of emotional instability and anxiety in adolescents. At the present stage of development of society, the study of psychological and pedagogical conditions for reducing the level of anxiety in adolescents is relevant, since a high level of anxiety reduces school performance, has a negative impact on the development and formation of a teenager's personality. In this regard, the study of this problem and the development of programs aimed at reducing anxiety is relevant. Comprehensive measures carried out by psychologists with parents and students make it possible to organize a timely diagnostic examination, followed by the introduction of corrective and preventive programs aimed at creating a favorable psychological climate, both in the school commun...

In recent times, an unprecedented event in contemporary history has disrupted social systems, exposing vulnerabilities in our educational system, mainly in economically disadvantaged areas. The covid- 19 arrived in an untimely manner and forced to make resounding changes in the way the teaching-learning process has been developing. Unesco (2020) reports that the pandemic has affected "1.6 billion students in more than 190 countries on all continents. School and other educational closures have affected 94% of students worldwide, a figure that rises to 99% in low- and lower-middle-income countries."

Odontogenic infections are a group of pathologies that can be life threatening, during the pandemic with the temporary closure of public and private dental practices after the onset of COVID-19 there was an increase in care needs with a great possibility of congesting the health services, this condition increased morbidity and mortality caused by other more prevalent diseases. According to some reports shown in the literature at the beginning of the pandemic, there was a reduction in patients with cervicofacial infection of dental etiology, this may be due to the mandatory confinement of the patient by government guidelines. Successful management of odontogenic infections depends on successful classification of severity in primary care and timely emergency treatment provided by dental care centers with all their available resources. The rational management of an odontogenic infection inv...

The portraits by Max T. Vargas are an essential key to understanding what fashions were followed by the high society of Arequipa during his time. But also, they provide insights into how Max T. Vargas used both fashion and ambiance resources, rather than post-touching techniques, as tools to portray the photogenic qualities of his clients. This aspect distinguishes Max T. Vargas from the pictorialist fashion being used by the most renowned photographers in the international context of the time and brings him closer to the way modern fashion photographers. However, in the second decade of the twentieth century, when pictorialism was also in fashion in the photographic portrait context of Arequipa, Max T. Vargas could not cope with his competitors and had to move to another city.

I propose to patent the meaning of the book The Black Heralds in the context of Spanish-language poetry from its time to the present day, through an amazing existential poetic legacy whose transcendence, one hundred years after its appearance in studies such as the one that summons us now, continues to explore the vital and human scope of the transcendent and singular poetic adventure of César Vallejo through his first poetic text in which the collective imaginary of the Andean cosmovision initiates its incorporation and forever to universal literature.

Mr. EditorDuring the pandemic, the maternal mortality rate has increased, especially in underdeveloped countries, where one in three pregnant women with COVID-19 could not access the intensive care unit (ICU); therefore, 35% of pregnant women died and the measures to prevent COVID-19 infection had an impact in limiting the complete control of pregnant women (1). This pandemic had a significant impact on maternal mortality worldwide. In some countries there was an increase in the maternal mortality rate, such as Uganda with 6.5%, Mexico 26.2%, India 34.4% and Kenya 8.5% (2). In Latin America, Honduras had the highest mortality rate, while Peru was in fifth place, with a 50% increase (3). In Peru, maternal mortality had an unequal presence, according to the region, since before the pandemic, the regions that reported the highest mortality rates were Amazonas, Ucayali, Madre de Dios and Lor...

Since its inception, labour law surged as a response to the needs of workers who were submitted to a capitalist economy. However, with a shift to turbocapitalism, efficiency and consumption take precedent in redefi ning labor dynamics. As a result, labour law is bend to adapt to this new context. The author highlights the need of a historical revision to the content of labour law. This involves revisiting the economic context that positioned its inception to identify which elements are essential and defi ne their purpose. Finally, they detail the changes introduced through turbocapitalism as the dynamic of labour relations. From here, the author suggests a revision of the essential elements of labour law as the key to understanding this new economic era.

Self-medication is a latent problem in our society. It is the own initiative or decision to take drugs, the consumption of drugs regardless of their origin, or medical prescription1,2. This has been increasing and has become a phenomenon that is highly studied by researchers. Thus, in pre-pandemic times, self-medication was a considerable problem in several countries, although with differences between countries in Europe and Latin America. So we have, in Spain3; The National Health System announced that in 2017 15.3% of people self-medicate. Also, in Mexico4; 86% consume medications without a doctor's prescription.
