This paper describes the process followed by an internarional NFO, ITDG -Practical Solutions, to improve communication impact on its practices and institutional policies. It shows an inventory of the main challenges that NGOs are facing in the field of communication, the inrernarional scenario factors which generate them and the route this organization followed to meet them. The designed program, advances and lessons learned in the way, and also the considerations that must be taken to follow similar processes are described in detail.

For the past 10 years, the Instituto de Investigaciones de la Amazonía Peruana (Peruvian Amazon Research Institute) - IIAP, Nature and Culture International (NCI), together with local communities, the Regional Government of Loreto, and other private organizations, have been developing a community co-management model for the Amazonian biodiversity, with very promising results. In the three basins where such co-management projects were implemented (Tahuayo, Yanayacu and Nanay), we are seeing a concrete evidence of reversals in the processes of degradation of resources and ecosystems. This case study discusses a problem identified in the global literature: the difficulty of national states in translating their policy instruments for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation into effective actions at the local territorial level. We review two perspectives on the territory and modes of intervention: (i) those of government agencies within the Huascarán Biosphere Reserve in Áncash and (ii) those deployed by local organizations in the context of a disaster risk reduction project. Recent studies have separately analyzed the importance of inclusive innovation and knowledge management. This document provides a clear view of the characteristics of each variable and the links between them, so that each variable can be analyzed and summarized separately for each entrepreneur. The objective is to identify if there is a relationship between inclusive innovation through knowledge management, as demonstrated by the users of the Haku Wiñay project. El proyecto estudia las características del centro cultural del Parque Zonal Sinchi Roca, cuya remodelación quedó suspendida en 2014 debido a un cambio de gestión municipal. A través del diseño participativo, el proyecto busca generar dinámicas de involucramiento del vecindario y visitantes en el rediseño del centro cultural. Así, propone metodologías exploratorias y etnográficas para conocer la interacción de usuarios y usuarias, su comportamiento habitual y sus necesidades en relación a este espacio, así como para recibir retroalimentación de los diseños de la propuesta.

This paper analyses and makes a critical balance of the Chilean constitutional reform project, sent by the President of the Republic to the Senate. The objective of the constitutional reform project is to elaborate a democratic New Constitution, in contrast to the current constitution that is a product of an institutional rupture. To do that there was a participatory process of citizenship that culminates with the “Citizens Bases for a New Constitution”, also, an Indigenoues Constituent Process was made.

Resettlement due to mining and infrastructure projects has become a relevant problem in Peru due to the growing number of projects juxtaposed with rural and urban habitats. Social Sciences have accumulated a body of studies that allow resettlements from multiple theoretical perspectives. Research shows residence, land use and mobility patterns of the population are not completely understood by companies and authorities in charge of resettlements, which therefore create more damage to those already affected. Companies and government use narratives about «development» and «risk» to legitimize the need of resettlement, but they are not necessarily capable of delivering the promises of a better future for those affected. Objective: to evaluate the training of nutritionists based on the integration of knowledge from the teaching-service-community triad, based on Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Collective Portfolio (PC) in the micropolitics of the SUS. Can architects operate from an active and participatory action with respect that strengthens the social habitat to combat inequality? If architecture is an art that generates spaces for better living, architects have the responsibility to understand and respect the territory and the people, to propose spaces that represent the culture and spirit of each place.However, in cities we live between physical walls that highlight inequalities and make visible the fear we have of others. Este proyecto busca estimular los vínculos de comunidades asentadas alrededor del canal de Surco, un río de riego de origen prehispánico, para lo cual reflexiona sobre las relaciones entre estas y los flujos de agua de nuestra ciudad. Así, la autora se sirve de estrategias participativas para indagar en las nociones de identidad e integración con este canal, cuyo proceso es testimoniado en un video documental, cartografías colectivas y video-animaciones a partir de memorias y dibujos elaborados por la comunidad. A través de estas manifestaciones se pone en diálogo las conexiones y vivencias del tejido social que vincula a vecinas y vecinos desde la sensibilidad estética y artística.

This research aimed to implement a Peace Education Project (PEP) in a first-grade classroom of a primary school located in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. The intervention promoted a set of prosocial competencies in students, teachers and families; for this universal and focused strategies were developed. A mixed approach was used, with evaluations before and after. Information was collected through participatory action-research. Some findings indicate that systematic PEPs in the classroom decrease violence and strengthen prosociability. There was a reduction in the school violence index from 1.12 to 1.10 and an increase in student prosociability from 3.34 to 3.70. The strategies favorably affected the maintenance of a school climate of cordiality, greater empathy, assertiveness, better management of emotions and an increase in friendship networks.
