Objective: To assess the effectiveness of an oral health intervention project in Oxapampa, Peru, from April to July 2023. Materials and methods: This longitudinal study involved 135 primary education students from the I.E. Bardo Bayerle educational institution. The research focused on two main variables: dental caries experience, measured using the DMFT index and dmft, and oral hygiene, assessed through the Simplified Oral Hygiene Index (OHI). Both descriptive and bivariate statistical analyses were conducted. Results: At the initial assessment, the OHI was 1.42 (SD = 0.68). By the conclusion of the study, this value had decreased to 0.45 (SD = 0.29), with the reduction being statistically significant (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Positive results were achieved in the oral health intervention project "Let's Smile Together" in Oxapampa, Peru, from April to July 2023.

AbstractThe article presents an approach to the Fugaz Project, an intervention carried out in the monumental area of Callao for commercial purposes and framed as an urban renewal initiative. This intervention triggered an interesting phenomenon due to the interaction of various actors who had not previously crossed paths and who now engage in a context where the residents of the monumental area find themselves in a position of subordination. The aim is to analyze how this urban intervention unfolded during a specific period (2015 to 2017) through four dimensions: the institutional and organizational arrangements that have facilitated the entry of a new economic actor into the area; socio-spatial fragmentation; the use of art to make the intervention attractive to both former residents and new visitors; and, finally, the experience and production of the place by the actors involved.

The mental health of college students has been the source of research, projects, and public policies involving education, health, and psychology professionals. Having as its axis the study of mental health and the phenomenon of psychological illness, this systematic review aims to characterize mental health programs directed to college students, as well as the forms of interventions offered to reduce the incidence of psychological disorders. From the proposal, a survey was conducted in the databases Scopus, Lilacs, and the repository Alicia, in the period between 2010 and 2021, choosing the search phrase “Programas de saúde mental para universitários” in Portuguese, “Mental health projects for university students” in English, and “Proyectos en salud mental para estudiantes universitarios” in Spanish. The research areas spanned humanities and social sciences, with peer-revie...

This article reflects the learning process carried out within the framework of an environmental education and educational intervention project, using the Project Work Methodology (MTP), conducted in the context of preschool education in Portugal. Following a qualitative paradigm, the study aims to analyze how children develop skills through the MTP. The approach respected children’s individual needs, fostering critical and creative thinking. The educational intentions constructed during the intervention led to the promotion of different types of learning among the children. The recorded evidence reveals benefits in their holistic development, confirming the formative potential of the project methodology.

This review paper addresses the need to infuse intercultural learning in the language classroom. The body of literature offers evidence of language approaches and methods that can potentially benefit the foreign/second language classroom by shifting from traditional practice to more active, participatory, and interculturally infused teaching. Teaching a foreign/second language comprehensively requires the inclusion of the intercultural component to equip learners with the ability to interact in increasingly intercultural contexts. Therefore, this paper proposes a model to design language and intercultural tasks in the language classroom. The methodology applied in this paper is based on a qualitative approach by reviewing the literature to gather insights to facilitate an intercultural approach based on a hybrid pedagogy merging Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Project...

Electrical power consumption in Peru increased on average by 5.1% between 2002 and 2011, while demand increased from 2 700 MW to 4 800 MW as a consequence of the increase in GDP. On the other side, photovoltaic (PV) technologies have been used in Peru for power generation in a few thousand small solar home systems (SHS) in the last 25 years, through various rural home electrification programs. This has permitted to accumulate a large amount of experience, which would open the possibility to consider the installation of larger PV systems with connection to the grid. Likewise, in the last five years, power generating plants have been installed to inject power directly in the National Power Grid (SEIN, from its Spanish acronym) without any substantial intervention of the national engineering community. One can see that in this scenario of technological evolution, PV technologies is present ...
