The main objective of this article is to present a synthesis of the various contributions that national and foreign researchers have made to the pre-Hispanic archaeology of the Chicama Valley, located in the Department of La Libertad, Peru. Through the analysis of the archaeological literature published to date, a balance and critical evaluation of current knowledge about the occupational history of the lower and middle Chicama valley. Finally, we outline new problems and working hypotheses for future archaeological investigations of this rich valley of the Peruvian north coast.

The notion that pre-conquest Andean people believed that they were composed of a body and a soul – and that the soul was what distinguished them from other beings – has been widely accepted since the sixteenth century. This article disputes this idea and establishes the basis for a more accurate understanding of the Andean conception of humanity. The misunderstanding of Andean conceptions began with the Àrst western informants on the Andean world. These Christians, born in Europe at the end of the fifteenth century, themselves believed that all humans were composed of body and soul. In this article we explain in a synthesized way part of the pre-Hispanic cultural process of the upper basin of the Ica river, with greater emphasis we treat the Late Intermediate Period (chukurpus) and Late Horizon (Inca) (1100 AD - 1532 AD). We specify the topics and evidence to determine changes in each period through the material correlate. The cultural elements, movable and immovable property, and the methods for the accumulation of empirical data, were the research instruments to define the diversity of cultural manifestations, exposed during the archaeological excavation at the Chukurpus Archaeological Site.

La investigación describe el análisis de los valores estéticos al utilizar el cerámico como soporte de impresión para la xilografía y el grabado en relieve como un material alterno al papel. Este trabajo, mediante la producción de una serie de obras en ambas disciplinas artísticas, expone al grabado y la cerámica como técnicas que se entrelazan para enviar un mensaje ancestral sobre la espiritualidad andina. This article deals with the conditions in France of the introduction of the second part of the Comentarios Reales in the early 1650s. Translated by a Parisian man of letters, whose labor needs were partly subjected to the demands of a wordly public, the first French version shifted the work of the Inca Garcilaso to another historiographical regime, based on a process of social and cultural conversion of the original text. This article examines the Andalusian stage in the life of the author of the Comentarios Reales, as the original context of its creation. This literary context involves both its discursive nature (description of a culturally sufficient scenario, in dialogue with the reader) and its nationalist legitimation (the claim of an identity within the Christian Commonwealth). Such legitimation receives its characteristic mark of Renaissance logic (so common to the European nationalist process, from the fourteenth to the nineteenth century), but, more specifically, as a particular process of legitimizing stigmatized societies. La manera en que los sitios antiguos llegan a ser considerados lugares significativos de la memoria colectiva y adquirir la sacralidad, es un tema importante, pero poco estudiado en la arqueología andina. A menudo carecemos de evidencia clara de cambios diacrónicos asociados con este proceso cultural. Este artículo presenta nuevos datos asociados al abandono y la reutilización de Yayno, un importante asentamiento fortificado en la sierra de Ancash (Pomabamba, Perú). Nuevos fechados radiocarbónicos y análisis nos permiten refinar la datación y la naturaleza de su colapso en Recuay Tardío, así como su reuso para depositar ofrendas rituales asociadas con el Inca. La evidencia indica que el fin de Yayno fue precipitado por la guerra endémica local; y durante la época inca se había convertido en un lugar para prácticas religiosas y visitación con ofrendas.

RESUMEN El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo general: Reducir los costos operativos de la empresa Inca Verde del Perú S.A.C., a través de la propuesta de mejora en el área de producción. Realizando un diagnóstico de la situación actual con el uso del análisis causa-efecto o también llamado Diagrama de Ishikawa para identificar las principales causas del problema las cuales principalmente fueron: Deficiente planificación de la producción, falta de estudio de tiempos y movimientos, inexistencia de un plan de capacitación en los principales procesos de producción entre otros. Para los cuales se propusieron herramientas de mejora tales como: Plan de Requerimiento de Materiales, Estudio de Tiempos, Plan de capacitación, Aplicación de 5 S entre otros. Es claro que casi todos los historiadores o etnohistoriadores coinciden en afirmar que los incas de privilegio desempeñaban algún papel en el mantenimiento de la dominación del Estado incaico, pero no precisan su razón de ser en dicho Estado. The rationale of this paper is to report by presenting data on the direct recognition of the canal that supplied water for over three hundred years to the city of Wari, from investigations with excavations in several sections of the channel, as a reference for qochas work, canals, reservoirs supplying the metropolis Wari (Perez 2006, 2007 and 2010) and as part of the hydrologic and hydraulic study of inca canal Wari Wari Yarccan or Yarcca in Ayacucho (Chavarría 2010). We believe that this is a great proyec for social and economic infraestructure that the Wari state executed in the Andes during the second half of the first millennium od the present Christian era, about 800 yerars before formation of the Empire of Tawantinsuyo.

El presente trabajo es un arbitraje del CIADI y tiene mucho material enriquecido. El arbitraje que también es referido como un medio alternativo de solución de controversias, toma el caso de Bear Creek v. Republic of Perú y brinda soluciones eficientes, a la controversia que se generó debido a que el Estado Peruano le otorgo derecho sobre concesiones mineras a 50 kilómetros de la frontera peruana a Bear Creek, sin embargo, después de unos años le termina retirando esos derechos adquiridos sobres las concesiones mineras. Este articulo trata las condiciones de introducción, en Francia, de la segunda parte de los Comentarios Reales, al inicio de la década de 1650. Traducida por un hombre de letras parisino, cuyas necesidades laborales estaban sujetas en parte a las exigencias de un público mundano, la primera versión francesa desplazó la obra del Inca Garcilaso hacia otro régimen historiográfico basado en un proceso de conversión social, además de cultural, del texto original. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is considered a neurodevelopmental disorder, whose prevalence has increased in recent years, showing in some cases deficits in the cognitive area, with processing speed (PS) being one of the affected variables. Therefore, the present study aims to: 1) compare the scores obtained in relation to the PS variable between students aged 6 to 11 with ASD and their peers with neurotypical development in Metropolitan Lima; and 2) establish the PS profile of the included students with ASD. Drawing from four sixteenth-century sources, the article reports some apparent incidents of American Tegumentary Leishmaniasis within the territory of the Andes. Reinterpretation of these sources affords a look at the longstanding issue of the origin of espundia, or mucosal Leishmaniasis (ML). The study reinforces the hypothesis that ML originated in the western Amazon region, from there climbing into the high forests and later into hot inter-Andean lands via Bolivia’s and Peru’s borders with Brazil, above all through human migration. Dating to archeological times, this process intensified during the Inca period under the social policies of the mitmaq or mitimaes. These events transpired within the historical and social context of the fall of the Inca Empire and the advent of Spanish colonization.
