This paper constitutes an analysis of the so called new information technologies and communication, based on the main documents drafted due to its appearance, but mainly on those daily-handled public concepts that they themselves have generated, identified as ‘imaginary meanings’ —in Castoriadis's sense—. The article begins discussing some of the particular meanings given to new technologies in relation to social temporality, and concludes suggesting a matrix of social imaginaries, from which these meanings seem to originate and function. In this epystemologycal exercise, manifold perspectives on which it is not deepen are left open, leaving space for further discussion.

The objective of this investigation is to analyze the consecuenques of social network use in the last five years, taking two different kinds of social mediators: Msn messenger and Facebook. For this, we describe the chat mechanisms, as a way of real time interaction, to deepen the ways in wich young people build new kinds of socialization using specialized codes. As distrust grows, the migration towards social networks where the users can demonstrate their existence with photographs and comments as is the case in Facebook or Wattsapp didn´t came as a surprise. These “nowhere places” are perceived as spaces of social islation that allow a virtual fantasy.

The comic boom today in the 21st century has been largely due to the reappearance of superhero stories and their leap into cinematic reality. This has given rise to a quick and coarse detail of the different scenarios where the characters' action takes place. But many times these backgrounds become the main characters of the story, they tell a story, a way of living, the worldview of the characters, their past, present and even future. Scenarios that are unique representations of life concepts, architectural styles, urban designs and iconic buildings that are based on a speculation of alternate reality that in some cases can answer some existential questions, show a future caused by bad decisions or simply allow you to dream in realities that they would like to live. These imaginary products can become study references under the analysis approach of a real city or architecture, and invit...

Armero is a municipality located in the department of Tolima, marked by the disaster that occurred on November 13, 1985. This research focuses on investigating why tourists choose to visit the municipality and their thoughts on dark tourism. Therefore, the objective is to analyze the social imaginaries and the tourist’s perception in a place mourning events that resulted in the death of more than 25,000 people and other incalculable damages. The methodology is qualitative and descriptive, using surveys as the technique. Simple sampling identifies 49 participants who, after touring the ruins of Armero, are questioned about their interest, feelings about the place, and empathy with the locals. It is concluded that dark tourism in Colombia, particularly in sites where catastrophic events occurred, can serve as a gateway to explore this type of tourism, as many countries already do.

The criollismo of Palma is cultural, therefore it is imaginary in us; this criollismo is a new story, which has antecedents in Pardo and Segura, but very different in its creativity and stylistic richness and which is at the same time ‘expression of a popular mestizo soul’, in which stands our human comedy with its thousand characters, “lacks truth and efficacy for social change, a change that in Traditions has a different meaning that allows us to imagine a” we “capable of denying and affirming, preserving and forgetting; to imagine their protagonism with the sense of thinking, as the exercise of a critical activity or to transform the destructive characteristic of the activity of thinking in results that are positive and profitable, generating states of perplexity.

This paper aims to discuss the relationship between image, imaginary, and imagination in law, based on eight possible contributions that the language of visual arts can offer to the legal field. The central issue is to observe how legal formalism values only positivist forms of knowledge and establishes predominantly instrumental relationships within legal culture. Using an analytical methodology and the technique of literature review, primarily grounded in the notion of function/performance from Niklas Luhmann’s social systems theory. The expected outcome is to highlight significant contributions from studies in law and visual arts to the development of a movement that values imagination, creativity, intelligence, and culture in the legal field.

The School of Cusco, articulated around the famous Cinema Club Cusco (founded in 1955), has been recognized by, from a will to demand, to have incorporated the Andean world into the national cinema; world, at the time of the release of the film, unknown to film practice. Kukuli (1961), the first feature film spoken in Quechua, directed by Eulogio Nishiyama, Luis Figueroa and César Villanueva, has become a foundational milestone in Andean cinematography. However, the contradictions in this film emerge, becausealthough it offers a valuable approach, through audiovisual discourse, to the Andean world and its Quechua inhabitant, it channels, at the end of the day, a solidary look that updates colonial imaginaries. Our research will demonstrate the survival of this view from the study of the paratext in the film in question. For this we start from the theoretical apparatus related to cultura...

Soon, in the year 2021, Peru will reach its bicentennial as a Nation. That is why a debate has arisen and crosses not only the domains of national historiography but even those of the social sciences as a whole. That «revival» of the republican state proposal, it is not new in Peru, but may be so, now that it is confronted and on the other hand, in relation to the consequences that these actions will involve to give way interpretations of the configuration of the Peruvian reality. The present article inquiries about that theoretical, political and republican rebirth, analysing the scope of one of its main disseminators. Thus, it seeks to present a theoretical balance, of the same, from the tradition of national critical thinking.

In an ever-changing world, with new challenges to be assumed, with more complex and innovative organizational dynamics that demand higher levels of productivity, long working hours, over increasingly attenuating workloads, require a rethinking of thoughts and beliefs that allow the establishment of environmental and instrumental conditions for the achievement of business objectives. This article seeks to make a reflection and contribute to the constructive dialogue on internal social responsibility, bearing in mind the function that social imaginaries fulfill in its construction, moving away a little from the look of the social and economic as it has been traditionally analyzed, but rather being productive in the construction of policies at the level of human talent management and the practices of internal CSR.

El Álbum Mexicano was one of the publishing enterprises of the famous printer Ignacio Cumplido. The young Mexican republic needed to create an account of itself and its citizens and found a privileged space in the illustrated press. Biographies of characters, descriptions of monuments and landscapes, texts on customs, etc., sought to create a collection of images that would allow the readers of the publication to think of themselves as part of a national unity. This article analyses the importance of the biographies that appeared in the newspaper, a genre of great importance for presenting models of citizenship, masculinity and femininity that would serve as a social model.

The following essay is aimed at promoting two research paths. The first one aims at pointing out possible research pathways in the field of the history of the imaginary. Then various expressions that contribute to understand deeply the Peruvian society in our present can be observed. The second path proposes to observe some of the various daily manifestations that our society has been able to develop in the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Likewise, this brief essay will point out some new resources, that show some social expressions. They are in constant restructuration and in the process of interaction they develop several manifestations. These resources such as: platforms and social networks are a challenge to research, due to the great amount of information, their constant change, and the social feedback. They should not be ignored in the intellectual field, neither because they are ...

Although these people who are raised in ignorance and customs that I have pointed out, show signs of skill in the things that they need or to which their appetite takes them, as with the weapons they use, which make them curious carving the chontas like with burin and around, with only little bones that serve them as tools and snails for brush. The canoes, which take them out proportionately, especially some nations, make them as a level; many of the fabrics that they weave to cover themselves, thin, with beautiful work and paintings; the garlands of various colors of feathers, which they call llautos; the clay pots they use are well made and painted.

This study analizes Daniel Alcides Carrion role as a cultural hero and central element of Peruvian medical tradition. We verify the meaning of the elaboration process of Carrion’s experiment in a political struggle and national reconstruction scenery that converges with the beginning of the century aristocratic elite positivism. Social recomposition of medical institutions and the emergent fraction entrance to the Faculty of Medicine makes end of the XIX century-Carrion’s created image to become a neutral icon at the present time, amenable to absolute reivindication by all sectors as it is deeply rooted in the past with no current presence. A cultural imaginary analysis of Peruvian Medical School development (1886-1956) is done, as during this period San Fernando produced the country’s largest and best quality medical knowledge. We conclude that confluence of local medical imaginary e...
