The objective was to know the hand hygiene habits of medical students; as well as the bacterial population resident in the palm of the hands. An observational, descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out. Likewise, a hand hygiene behavior survey was carried out on 100 students, and a microbiological culture of the palmar surface was carried out on 33 other students. Regarding hygiene habits, 74% showed an appropriate attitude. The hygiene attitude was appropriate in 41.3% and 46% in relation to the prevention of contagion. The following pathogenic microorganisms were isolated: S.aureus with 20 cases (60.6%), P. aeruginosa, Enterobacter and S.viridans, one in each case. Therefore, workshops or dissemination campaigns should be organized to raise awareness and modulate hand hygiene habits in students.

Popper’s falsificationist method establishes criteria for demarcation between science and metaphysics, and proposes a procedure to test the validity of scientific theories. From his epistemological standpoint, Popper formulates critics to Marxism, and disapproves it with several arguments. This paper has the aim to analyze that argumentation and to determine if it is possible, using the same tools supplied by Popper, to validate the Marxist method, its capacity to formulate scientific rules, to make predictions founded in such rules and to resist the historical testing of those forecasts.

In 1907, Max Uhle performed excavations at the La Cruz Creek, located in the San Lorenzo Island. One of the most important objects discovered during that exploration was a mantle with a painting representing a parade of naked people. The painted mantle and other objects retrieved from the island by Uhle are kept at the Museo Nacional de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia del Perú. The iconographic study was based on a semiologic approach. As long as the characters, their attrbutes and their actions are properly identified, this approach leads to fine results on the meaning of the representations. Chronologically, the mantle pertains to the Late Horizon (1470-1532 dC.) and culturally is related to the Ichma style, from the Rimac and Lurín valleys. This paper analyzes the ideas and practices regarding birth control promoted by the field of medicine. Employing a relational and gender perspective, differences are found in approaches to contraceptive methods, abortion, and sterilization in Argentina from 1930 to 1940. In a context of demographic transition and the rise of eugenic ideas, voluntary birth control was a problem for the medical elite. In contrast, marginal positionings spread knowledge about access to sexual pleasure without worrying about reproduction.

This paper hypothesizes that in the novels Fahrenheit 451 (1953) by Ray Bradbury and Balzac and the young Chinese seamstress (2000) by Dai Sijie, the use of metaphors underpins the idea of the book as a subversive «cultural object» in the context of totalitarian governments, where it is forbidden by the institutions of power and, at the same time, is the object of desire for certain subjects. For this reason, these works will be analysed. It will pay special attention to the metaphors, personifications and metonymies used by their authors, in particular, in order to account for the convergences and dissimilarities that can be found.

Objective: To determine the relationship between nutritional status and anemia in children under five years of age in the Locuto–Tambogrande population center in 2025. Materials and methods: A basic, quantitative, descriptive, and correlational cross-sectional study was conducted with a probability sample of 50 children. Nutritional status was evaluated using weight-for-age, height-for-age, and weight-for-height indicators, while anemia was identified through hemoglobin levels recorded in the vaccination cards. Results: 70% of the children presented with anemia and 78% had a low nutritional status; additionally, 82% showed low weight-for-age, 80% low height-for-age, and 58% low weight-for-height.
