The academic literature has demonstrated the relevance of education not only on the economic development of society but also on the human and cultural development of individuals. That is why, one of the main challenges of governments is the access of individuals of different population groups to education and its quality, the search for the relevant sea according to the economic, historical, social and cultural context. In this sense, this document seeks to analyze the relevance of some training programs offered under an intervention model focused on the population, based on the set of factors important for the development of the individual and society, implemented a multidimensional approach that includes the educational-pedagogical, the social in conjunction with social and cultural equity, finally, the economic, institutional and political. This analysis is complemented by the descrip...

Criticism of Cesar Vallejo’s narrative has interpreted Escalas (1923) as a hermetic text that was the product of the Peruvian bard’s first approach to the narrative genre. As a consequence, Escalas has been studied to understand other Vallejian texts, but not its own organicity. The purpose of this paper is to briefly map the origin of the hermetic label of Escalas and to place the epigraph that the opening is the key to its reading, since it is considered that this contains the sense of the avant-garde character of Escalas. In addition, some stories will be analyzed, both from the «Cuneiforms» section and from the «Wind Choir». For this, the contributions of George Lakoff and Mark Johnson will be used as a theoretical framework, as well as the classification of the styles of thought of Giovanni Bottiroli.

This investigation analyzes the deficiencies in the regulation of article 32 of the Sanitary Regulations for the Operation of Self-Services on which the Peruvian judicial system based to resolve the emblematic case related to Plaza Vea. In addition, we make a regulatory proposal in order to avoid that fundamental rights restrictions as a consequence of poor legislative technique. The problem investigated is that the Constitutional Court, in order to resolve the Plaza Vea case, did not take into consideration the regulatory prescriptive norms on which the prohibition related to the fact that animals cannot enter supermarkets is based. Therefore, we seek to demonstrate that, applying doctrinal concepts of legal argumentation such as vagueness, over-inclusion, irrelevant factual predicates, legal gaps and defeasibility, the Constitutional Court was able to understand that, rather than facin...

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the initial investment's motivations and study the reinvesting motivations. The results revealed differences in reinvestors' motivations of reinvestors in both winning and losing situations. Specifically, financial return and excitement motives were supported for win and loss situations, while recognition was supported for loss and pleasure in win situations. Design/methodology/approach: The impact of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations on reinvestors was tested using the structural equation model. Furthermore, the framework was analysed with survey data from a total of 355 digital workers from Amazon Mechanical Turk, one of the world's largest crowdsourcing platforms. Findings: The results indicate that there are differences in the motivations for reinvestors when they are in both winning and losing situations. Financial return and ex...

Traumatic neuroma is not a true neoplasm but rather a reactive proliferation of neural tissue after transection or other damage to a nerve bundle. They can develop anywhere but are most common in the area of the mental foramen, tongue, and lower lip. Traumatic neuroma formation is a major cause of neuropathic pain, which remains a difficult problem for surgeons. The exact mechanism of the pain associated with the neuroma is still not fully understood and the prevention of its formation is essential to avoid it. To date the most effective treatment has been surgical removal. We report the case of a 23-year-old female patient who presented an increase in the volume of the vestibular sulcus at the level of teeth 44 and 45, as well as spontaneous burning pain with an evolution of approximately five months. It was decided to perform the surgical resection of the lesion and the histopathologic...

The aim of this article is to understand how day-to-day student classroom participation in an ordinary secondary Chilean school contributes to civic education towards democratic competency. The qualitative method adopted an ethnomethological perspective and used participant observation, unstructured interviews and document review techniques, all later analyzed inductively. The results show a lack of definition of classroom participation in institutional documents, sporadic implementation of participating events and a consensual passive role of students in the classroom. It concludes that classroom participation tends to teach students to consider their interactions as interruptions when dealing with their life outside the classroom and illegitimate in their expression, contributing negatively to their development of democratic competency.

Since time immemorial, human beings have developed defense strategies for their material goods, which account for the beliefs that sustain them and which, in a certain way, have marked the historical development of their peoples. Therefore, to understand the past of a group of human beingsit is necessary to know the lines of thinking that have developed their defenses. The case study presented below involves the fortified colonial system of the city of Montevideo, more specifically the so-called “land front”, punctually the wall object and its transformation from an invisible object for the community to a national historic monument. We describe the recovery process of a canvas of 13 meters of the wall, located in private land, where an old factory of anilines was operative until the second half of the twentieth century. Through a process of valuatio...

Mountain cities specializing in tourism increasingly aim at valorizing cultural and natural heritage to compete for global attention. In this context, the postmodern urbanization of mountains plays a decisive role: driven by touristification processes, it alters the sociospatial and economic configuration of mountain cities and their hinterlands, which are becoming vertically arranged “operational landscapes”, and profoundly changes city–mountain interactions. To foster sustainable development in urbanizing mountain destinations, it is crucial to understand these settlements’ embeddedness in both (1) nature and culture and (2) space and time. The Andean city of Huaraz is a case in point: an intermediate center in highland Peru, it is characterized by a strategic location in the Callejón de Huaylas (Santa Valley), influenced by Hispanic and Quechua culture and dominated by the gl...

This research examines Offa’s Dyke as a historical and symbolic artifact that functioned as a boundary, edge, and frontier, territorial, political, and identitarian, within the context of the transition from Late Antiquity to the Middle Ages in the British Isles. The study focuses on a specific case within the broader framework of walls as strategies of spatial control. Using a qualitative historical-documentary approach, it explores how a wall built in the 8th century by the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia not only physically demarcated the territory from the Brythonic peoples of the southwest, but also decisively contributed to the differentiated construction of two political identities that would later evolve into the nations of England and Wales. The study seeks to fill a gap in the existing literature on ancient borders and argues that Offa’s Dyke represents a crucial precedent fo...
