Based on ceramic and architectural evidence collected from the archaeological complex of Campanario, we identify this site as the political and religious center in the valley of Huarmey around AD 1000. In this article we discuss the activity areas of Campanario and present detailed description of a local style of ceramic which we are calling the Campanario Style. Artifacts and features from surface contexts have allowed us to reconstruct the occupational history and site chronology of Campanario. The results of our analyses have furthered our understanding of the type of sociopolitical organization operating in the Huarmey Valley during the Late Intermediate Period (AD 900-1400).

Infections caused by C. albicans are of three types: cutaneous, mucosal, and systemic. In our investigation, it was a systemic infection in patients with fungemia who were isolated strains of C. albicans from blood cultures. The purpose of this research was to determine the prevalence of genes for resistance to fluconazole and voriconazole in strains of Candida albicans isolated from blood cultures in patients from the Luis Nicasio Sáenz-2018 Police Hospital Complex. 176 strains of Candida spp. that were isolated from blood cultures and for the identification of C. albicans, the germ tube test was performed and confirmed with the MicroScan RAPID YEAST ID PANEL identification test. Introduction: Infertility is currently a more frequent diagnosis, at sea level and at high altitudes, and development of high complexity assisted reproduction techniques in the Andes of Peru is essential. Objective: To define the results of the application of these techniques in an institution at 3 330 meters above sea level. Design: Descriptive and retrospective study. Background: the neurosurgical burden of disease is high worldwide. Information regarding this in Peru is limited. We aim to describe epidemiological characteristics and temporal distribution of the neurosurgical burden of disease in a high complexity center in Peru. Material and Methods: we carried a cross-sectional analytical study using the surgery registry from the neurosurgical department of Hospital Nacional María Auxiliadora in Lima-Peru, which contains registers from 2008 to 2020. Diagnoses were classified into main diagnosis, a variable with 10 levels, each a broad category; and specific diagnosis, defining the etiology. I present in this article the results of survey and mapping at sites with early monumental architecture in the Middle Fortaleza Valley. Architecture provisionally assigned to the Late Archaic period is analyzed, and some hypotheses on its development are proposed. The Fortaleza sites are then compared with other ones throughout the North Central Coast. I propose that the architectural complexes in this region seem to correspond to local-range sociopolitical entities, instead of large, regional polities. Finally, I conclude with some thoughts on new theoretical perspectives to understand the origins and development of such entities.

Objective: To determine the frequency of the stylohyoid complex calcification in digital panoramic radiographs of a radiological center. Methods. The type of study was qualitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective design; 400 digital panoramic radiographs between the ages of 25 and 70 were analyzed. A visual evaluation of the digital panoramic radiographs was performed to assess the type and pattern of the stylohyoid ligament calcification. Results. The 56.8% presented calcification of the stylohyoid complex in digital panoramic radiographs; according to sex in the female group it was present in 64.6%; Regarding the age group, 65.8% presented calcification in adults aged 30-59 years-old; According to the affected side, 71.4% were bilateral, according to the radiographic appearance, type I presented a higher frequency with 50.1% on the right side and 62.5% on the left side. ...

The objective of the study was to determine the factors associated with QRS complex alterations in domestic dogs undergoing electrocardiographic examination at a cardiological diagnosis center in Lima during the period 2018-2020. An analytical observational study was carried out. A data collection form was used to record information about the dependent variables: duration, amplitude, polarity and morphology of the QRS wave; and the independent variables: age, sex, breed size and obesity of the dog. Subsequently, a logistic regression analysis was performed to quantify the association between the classification variables and QRS complex alterations. The present study raises a hypothesis based on the architectural evidence and figurative art reviewed by the author. We argue a chronological distinction between the two platforms mounds embedded in the archaeological site of Pampa de Llamas-Moxeke in the Casma Valley. Stylistic differentiation in both lines of evidence, plus some radiocarbon dates issues, suggest that the Huaca Moxeke, postulated as a center of religious function, is the main mound in the original design planned for this complex, representative of the defined Casma Pattern proposed by Carlos Williams (1980). Aunque las investigaciones acerca de los centros ceremoniales del Periodo Formativo son numerosas, al mismo tiempo, curiosamente, poco se ha entendido acerca de sus parámetros funcionales. En el fondo, se necesitan responder preguntas elementales acerca de porqué se construyeron estos centros, para quién funcionaron y a qué propósitos sirvieron. Si bien la evidencia es clara acerca de su carácter ritual, la aplicación de modelos devocionales derivados de prácticas religiosas modernas no es congruente con las observaciones realizadas acerca del singular sitio de Chavín de Huántar. En cambio, la configuración de este prominente centro parece confirmar que refleja, principalmente, estrategias de liderazgo y la presencia de elites secundarias.

The graphical display of complex-valued functions of a complex variable is a subject of much interest since the graph of such a function would have to be drawn in a four-dimensional space. This article presents a proposal to display such graphs using a model based on a submersion, from four-dimensional space to three-dimensional space; then, with the help of Mathematica arrive at a representation of the graphs mentioned in a 2D screen. Additionally, some commands are implemented in Mathematica, the same that will make representations varied and interesting examples.

Health research is vital for the advancement of science and development in a country. However, researching with ethics in daily clinical practice is a slow process. Several factors play a critical role at the beginning of any investigation: the workplace, the right time, the resources with which it is counted, the number of study subjects that could be involved and even the socio familiar environment of the researcher. All these factors are directly or indirectly related to ethical problems between the doctor researcher and the patient or research subject; even more in countries like Peru, where the low educational level of the population increases a certain position of power of the doctor. Likewise, the appearance of new areas in Medicine such as palliative care, assisted human reproduction, gene therapy and tissue engineering make this pairing even more complex.

En el presente trabajo se discuten las implicancias difusionistas derivadas del enfoque de las relaciones centro-periferia y la tendencia a establecer vínculos de dependencia entre las sociedades de las subáreas de los Valles Occidentales y la Circunpuna respecto de las tierras altas nucleares durante los periodos Formativo Temprano y Medio del norte de Chile (1500 a.C. a 400 d.C.).
