This research has three aspects in relation to Education Innovation for the Sustainable Development: (i) changes in the philosophical, epistemological and didactic framework of education, (ii) the questioning of the new functions of the higher education and (iii) the evaluation and inclusion of an Andean Amazonian Cosmo vision and rationality in the University environment. One of the transformer results of this experience was to put into practice complex, transdisciplinary, phenomenological and hermeneutical education researches that promote an intercultural dialogue. El 50 aniversario de la Universidad Ricardo Palma (URP) y de la Facultad de Ingeniería nos recuerda el gran esfuerzo de la comunidad de esta facultad, que dejó las aulas en Miraflores y se mudó, con amor y esperanza, a construir el actual campus universitario. Eran aulas prefabricadas, en las que el calor, en verano, y el frío y la humedad, en invierno, penetraban el alma en las largas caminatas desde el campus hasta el cruce de las avenidas Ayacucho y Benavides, donde se abordaba la movilidad más cercana. Fueron años de mucho esfuerzo, retos y solidaridad compartida.

Esta investigación tiene tres aspectos relacionados a la innovación en Educación para el Desarrollo Sostenible (EDS): (i) cambios en los marcos filosóficos, epistemológicos y didácticos de la educación; (ii) el cuestionamiento de las nuevas funciones de la educación superior; y (iii) la evaluación e inclusión de una cosmovisión y racionalidad andina amazónica en los entornos universitarios. In this edition, we celebrate the Outstanding designation awarded by the Peruvian Ministry of the Environment in the 2024 Ranking of Environmental Sustainability of Peruvian Universities to Ricardo Palma University, as well as fourth place in Metropolitan Lima and sixth place nationally. We would also like to highlight the URP's receipt of the SEDAPAL Award: Protectors of Water, for which the video produced by the students of the Faculty of Engineering was essential.

It is with special appreciation that we write to you, on this occasion to send you the second 2023 edition of our Engineering Profiles magazine. In it, we focus on highlighting the innovations and research that are being carried out at the Faculty and other universities in the country and abroad that have collaborated with this edition. Engineering has always been a profession in constant evolution and adaptation, and in these times of rapid and challenging change, its role is more indispensable than ever. In times of crisis like those we face nationally and globally, engineers are challenged to demonstrate their ability to overcome obstacles, find creative solutions and improve people's quality of life.

In this issue, we want to highlight innovative projects and sustainable practices that are changing the engineering landscape. From emerging technologies in construction to the use of artificial intelligence to optimize processes, our articles address how engineers are using their creativity and technical knowledge to tackle complex problems.
