A clear perception of the relationship between the Historical Centers and the city is vital to deter- mine the planning process. The management of the values and attributes of the Historic Center are a constant challenge that must be faced in the best way with citizen participation in the frame- work of strategic planning. The aim of this research is to analyze the planning of historical centers, through two Latin American experiences where the Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) approach has been applied. The cases correspond to the Historic Center of Lima-Peru and the Historic Center of Cuenca-Ecuador. Although this approach, promoted by Unesco since 2011, is controversial and de- batable among experts in the field, it is considered necessary and important to know how this new tool for the planning of historic centers is being implemented and the results it is generating.

After it was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO (1983), the world’s attention focusedon the Historic Center of Cusco. It is the heart of a city with numerous problems, especially in terms of its inhabitants’ inadequate living conditions: lack of sanitation and legal ordering, insecurity, deterioration of its social and physical infrastructure. In light of this reality, an initial effort was made to plan and regulate the city’s built heritage through the Master Plan of the Historic Center of Cusco (2005). The participation of the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID) between 1999 and 2010, both in the recovery of housing as in the revitalization of urban environments and the institutional strengthening of the Provincial Municipality of Cusco, became one of the contemporary work experiences in the manageme...

Gentrification is an urban phenomenon that displaces the original inhabitants of a neighborhood due to regeneration processes. In this analysis carried out in the historic center of the heritage city of Cuenca, the beginning of the process does not necessarily respond to a significant transformation of the architecture. It has been proven that the phenomenon arises invisibly due to changes in the demographic composition of the neighborhood. The methodology of this research requires the correlation of census data for each minimum applicable unit known as a block. This information is contrasted with historical photographs available on the Google platform. The significant contribution to the concept of gentrification results in a method that allows identifying and predicting the phenomenon, more important than its visual-late diagnosis.

The study begins with a critical analysis of the contents oriented to the functional vision of public spaces, mobility and accessibility through territorial planning in the historic center of Cusco, to then delve into similar experiences in other sites of the same condition. Through the application of a mixed methodology, quantitative and qualitative data have been identified based on three variables and categories of study: the physical dimension of the intervention, the social-cultural dimension depending on the intervened space and the economic repercussions that have been given by the change of use of the street. All the data obtained and compared are given as a result of the pedestrianization process between 2006 and 2022. Finally, the results are scopes that occur from the perception of occasional passers-by, frequent users and administrators of buildings destined for different use...

In several countries, the concept of the historic center has positioned itself at the forefront for the protection of urban heritage. However, it is interpreted and defined according to the needs and expectations of the present. Thus, the article postulates the objective of analyzing the normative framework around the historic center for the definition and safeguarding of urban heritage, based on the case of the city of Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. It is established a methodology that starts from the analysis at the level of federal and state legislation that closes with the municipal plans and regulations. It is concluded that the normative interpretation of Mexican cultural heritage is not shared by the different levels of government, generating conflicts that directly affect the particular material and spatial configuration of historical centers.

The present investigation arises from the concern of the current spaces, since they are closed and too many excluded from the exterior, so the topic of visual permeability is touched on as a type of solution for architectural design, since permeability allows the passage of the visual through different spaces, allowing you to have a better relationship between exterior and interior. The purpose of this research is to analyze how visual permeability is related to architectural design in order to achieve materials that present a certain porosity, that the shape allows light to enter and generates filters inside the building, in addition to spaces that have continuity and thus allow you have a better relationship with public and private spaces.

Aortic stenosis is a congenital heart defect that causes a fixed left ventricular outflow obstruction with a progressive course. Symptomatology in neonates and young infants resembles congestive heart failure. In addition, the diagnosis of this condition is made by imaging, through echocardiography. On the other hand, treatment can be surgical or interventional under fluoroscopic guidance, depending on the hospital in which it is performed. We describe the case of a minor infant patient who presented severe aortic valve stenosis; however, the fluoroscopy equipment was not available at the time of the emergency to perform the appropriate procedure, therefore, an aortic valvuloplasty was performed under echocardiographic guidance without complications.

The objective of the study was to determine how public management is related to the recovery of the Historic Center of Lima. Various empirical sources indicate that the loss or improper use of the built cultural heritage, together with the deficient control of the administrating authorities, contribute to its deterioration. The research was of a non-experimental design, of a descriptive correlational type and of a mixed approach. A non-probabilistic sample was used, made up of residents and economic agents who responded to a questionnaire, as well as functions and technicians of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima. The results show that there is a correlation of 0.73, which reflects a direct, positive and high relationship, finding significance between the variables studied, since p. value = 0.000 <α 0.05. Destruction of heritage and institutional disarticulation of the Historic Ce...
