Small-scale fishing, such as that of the Tahuayo river basin (CRT) has been little studied despite its importance as a protein supply for the region. This article presents the fisheries' main ecological features in the CRT based on of an analysis of fish landings. Between August 2016 and July 2017, the richness and composition of species, biomass and catches per unit of effort (CPUE) were evaluated, by hydrological periods, aquatic environments and communities. The captures presented 62 species, grouped into 23 families and 7 orders, with the Pimelodidae family being the most diverse (12 species). Se han producido cuatro eventos extremos de El Niño en las últimas cinco décadas (1972/1973, 1982/1983, 1997/1998 y 2015/2016) y se caracterizaron como fuertes en la región de Niño 3.4. Presentan diferencias significativas en su evolución que inducen a anomalías distintas de precipitaciones a lo largo de la vertiente del Pacífico peruano que ilustran la no linealidad de la teleconexión ENSO en precipitaciones en esta región. Las lluvias extremas tienen un impacto negativo en la población y los sectores productivos debido a las inundaciones y deslizamientos de tierra que se producen. The present study compares the patterns of fish’s diversity of the Alto Yurúa Basin. The study area included three sub basins: Beu, Breu and Yurúa, all without anthropogenic impact. Fishing was carried out with trawls, 10564 individuals were collected and 185 fish’s species were identified. In regional scale, the average of the Shannon diversity index (H’) for Beu was of 2,02; for Breu 1,84 and Yuruá 1,75. The rarefaction analysis shows to Yurúa with the highest species richness (91 spp.), in comparison with Beu (87) and Breu (68). In the local scale, the diversity average (H’) was highest in lotic environments (Beu 2,04; Breu 1,90; and Yurúa 1,86), compared with respective lentics environments (Beu 1,66; Breu 1,86; and Yurúa 1,82). The article presents a methodological proposal for assessing water sustainability in river basins using the Water Sustainability Index (WSI) and its application in the river basins of Chili, Caplina, Chancay-Lambayeque, and Urubamba, as well as at the national level in Peru, for the period 2012-2021. The WSI consists of three sub-indices based on the components of sustainable development: economic (SiE), social (SiS), and environmental (SiA). The WSI rating scale ranges from 0 (lowest) to 100 (highest). Intrinsic and extrinsic indicators, both economic, social, and environmental, were selected. Los ríos amazónicos forman una red compleja y altamente dinámica, donde el comportamiento fluvial está determinado por controles geomorfológicos e hidrológicos.. Dentro de esta red, los ríos se clasifican en dos tipos principales, meándricos, con alta sinuosidad y migración lateral, y anabranching, con múltiples canales e islas internas. Para analizar la variabilidad interna entre secciones fluviales, se llevó a cabo un estudio planimétrico multitemporal en la cuenca alta del Amazonas: Huallaga, Ucayali, Marañón, Amazonas, Napo, Japurá, Putumayo, Juruá y Yavarí. In this sense, this research proposes a methodology to delimit the types of vegetation cover in the Quillcay sub-basin. The study area is located in the districts of Huaraz and Independencia, province of Huaraz, Ancash; in the middle western slope of the Cordillera Blanca and Santa river basin. The pollution of the continental waters is a problem at a world scale, mainly due to the impact of the mining tailings. Using top technologies as neutralization plants of acid waters, many companies are mitigating the impact of this functioning; so taking as a reference the changes in the concentration of heavy metals present in water, soils and cultivations of the high, middle and low basin of the Moche river, samplings of water were obtained at eight stations of the Moche river (Trujillo, Peru), and in four sectors of its margins for soils and cultivations. The most representative heavy metals in water were found in the high basin during the year 1980: iron (557.500 ppm), lead (100.375 ppm), cadmium (4.550 ppm), copper (6.900 ppm), zinc (262.900 ppm) and arsenic (9.000 ppm); whereas in the soils the higher concentrations were found on the right margin of median basin in the year 1980: ...

Evalúa la influencia de la variabilidad atlántica en la precipitación de la Cuenca Amazónica. Este estudio proporciona un análisis detallado, en la escala de tiempo interanual, de la influencia del Pacífico tropical y el Océano Atlántico en el régimen de precipitaciones sobre América del Sur, con un enfoque en la Cuenca Amazónica. The arahuana (arowana) Osteoglossum bicirrhosum (Cuvier, 1829) is a very important resource for ornamental fishing activity in the Putumayo river basin, Loreto, Peru, having developed various studies around this species; however, studies on its reproductive biology are incipient. For this reason, the objective of this study was to describe a scale of gonadal maturity with microscopic support and to determine which is the main period of reproduction of the Arahuana resource in the Putumayo river basin. The genus Abuta constitutes the second most diverse taxon within the Neotropical Menispermaceae. In this research, we document and analyze 12 species recorded within Peruvian territory, presenting comprehensive morphological characterizations of each taxon and compiling these into a dichotomous identification key. We provide photographic documentation of specimens, encompassing both in situ observations and herbarium specimens, for all species with the exception of A. aristeguietae. En este artículo se discute la complejidad temprana en la cuenca sur del lago Titicaca, en los Andes bolivianos. Se estudia un paisaje regional con formaciones de carácter multicomunal que surgieron durante el Periodo Formativo Tardío (100 a.C.-500 d.C.).
