Mathematics is one of the fundamental areas in the formation of human beings, not only in the very process of resolution of this exact science, but also in all areas of life; since its implementation in educational institutions, research has been carried out on how it can respond to global and national advances in the formation of competent citizens in different fields related to the consolidation of democratic values, which make it a primary reference in the educational policies of governments and school curricula. Currently, teaching methods in the field of mathematics have incorporated new relevant information, which leads to the construction of spaces where the teacher and the student interact to build knowledge that can be applied in different situations and contexts. This article refers to different research related to the importance of recognizing reading comprehension in the deve...

This article focuses on the results of a research on the concept of critical reading of the media in school coursebooks from seventh grade in primary school to second grade in secondary school, by considering the point of view of the communication and educational areas. The aim is to know the concept of critical reading that is present in the coursebooks given by the Ministry of Education, in order to establish the levels of media alphabetization that are given by the several contents and activities inside the learning resources. The results indicates that the methodology proposed for the teaching of the media’s critical readings in coursebooks focuses on an education “through” the media, by emphasizing the functional and instrumental level of the media in all of the coursebooks that were analyzed.

Intelligence is a construct of notable impact in our sociocultural context, related to a wide range of conceptual and operational definitions which originate positions that highlights cognitive and abstract elements and emotional and social skills, as well was perspectives that are focused on processes underlying the intelligent performance, such as in the case of executive functions (EFs), which are configured as cognitive processes that make it possible the self-regulation (Miyake & Friedman, 2012). Similarly, there are approaches that give intelligence a relevant and predictive role of school performance, an aspect strengthened by the psychometric perspective, where the concept of intelligence has been closely linked to learning. In this line, we also find the classical perspective of crystallized Intelligence of Cattell (1943), which refers to the knowledge acquired through educa...

The research set out reading comprehension as a problem which currently, in Peruvian government policy is one of the priorities on education because it was proved that reading deficiency is the main cause of low performance obtained by Peruvian students on standardized tests taken by foreign agencies. For this reason, it should make studies, proposals and continue with greater coverage and persistence in the development, dissemination and discussion of innovative proposals to the reader transformation both the teacher and the student to revert not only statistical results but to help people through the reader development. The Educational Program “interactivetransactional Method in reading legends” involved the execution of four reading activities distributed in ten training sessions to develop the understanding of narrative text, specifically the legend. The plan consists of concepti...

The present research aimed to analyze the levels of reading comprehension achieved by university students and the teaching strategies that can enhance this skill. A systematic review was conducted based on the PRISMA method, identifying 48 articles published since 2020. The findings indicate that, although some students manage to reach the literal level, the majority demonstrate a poor command of reading comprehension, particularly in critical and appreciative understanding. Among the most commonly used teaching strategies to improve this indicator are the highlighting technique, identifying main ideas, the SQA methodology (Know, Want to know, Learned), metacognitive summaries, concept maps, and interactive strategies mediated by ICT. In conclusion, it is essential to implement these strategies, as reading comprehension directly impacts students' academic performance and professional dev...

The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between students’ cognitive and self-regulatory strategies, academic engagement, and academic achievement in higher education, analyzing the mediating role of reading comprehension. Different tasks to assess the constructs were administered to 209 students (Mage = 21.71; SD = 4.36). The students' GPA was used as a measure of academic achievement. Significant associations were found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies, academic engagement, reading comprehension, and students' GPA. In addition, a positive association was found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies and academic engagement. Finally, the structural equation model showed that cognitive and self-regulation strategies and academic engagement have direct effects on students' GPA. Additionally, an indirect effect of cognitive and self-regulation...

The structure of mental activity and the consequent development of its components functionally affect the quality of the students’ performance. The aim of this research was to know the difference between some structural details of the psychological levels of the functionality of the students with and without learning difficulties. It is a predominantly quantitative and experimental study with independent variables such as age, school year, school retentions, cognitive aptitude and motivation to learn, and with dependent variables such as performance or school success. The sample of this research consisted of 550 students: 275 with and 275 without learning difficulties. The methodological instruments used were psychological interviews, sociodemographic questionnaires, record of the students' performance in the three periods of the last two school years and evaluation by teachers and par...

Research on the bibliographic review studies on collaborative learning at the university level published in the last five years, allows to verify an absence of systematic comparative analysis of explicit and exhaustive analytical criteria that enables ordering of the different contributions. Precisely, the objective of this work was to establish a referential analytical model that allows a clear systematization of the corpus of articles recovered in the period 2018-2022. To meet this objective, a bibliographic search was carried out in the databases: SciELO, RedALyC, Eric and Dialnet. 71 studies were recovered. In the first part of the manuscript, this corpus of research was analyzed based on the constructed analytical criteria or variables. In the second part, the variables of the proposed model were analyzed inclusively. Based on this systematization, 12 studies were selected that can ...

This article seeks to explain the problem of literacy in Peru (1); it focuses on the lack of information regarding how children learn or acquire writing skills, which allows initial literacy. It proposes to universities and educational institutes to incorporate into their curricula a closest approach to child development, specifically the period of the first seven years, crucial in the reader and writer training. Also, it invokes to decline traditional practices, which determine the failure of active and reflective readers from initial education and explain in part why the university and Peruvian professionals read little or write short texts. Along this line, it outlines the difficulties of the student to use writing as a personal way of processing information and as a tool to interact with their environment. In the last section there is a list of the concepts and processes that should ...

The present article starts from a problematic one as a result of the results obtained in the Evaluation Cenal de Estudiantes 2015 (ECE 2015), realized by the Unit of Measurement of the Educational Quality (UMC) of the MINEDU. Reveals that  second grade students perform satisfactorily in the areas of reading and mathematics below 50%. It leads to various concerns in an effort to understand, analyze what actions are not being considered in teaching practice, which makes learners do not reflect the interest and mastery of knowledge. Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences contributes to a broader view of human potentialities, which for many years remained a narrow concept of intelligence. Also, its implication in school contexts.
