En un contexto de despojo contra el pueblo Mapuche, se aplican 7 entrevistas a profundidad desarrolladas durante los años 2020 y 2021 a mujeres y hombres provenientes de la etnia mapuche que, actualmente, vienen desempeñándose en labores académicas, organizacionales y políticas. El artículo busca debatir la asimilación social, cultural y económica de la población mapuche en su proceso de “chilenización”. En este proceso se identifica la vulneración contra la identidad mapuche, la segregación racial y de clase hacia quienes deciden migrar y movilizarse socialmente, así como la lógica de una subordinación cultural que mella constantemente la libertad mapuche, de su lengua, de sus costumbres, de su cosmovisión y, en general, de su derecho a disentir.

This paper analyzes the information treatment of the Mapuche people in the newspaper El Mercurio during two periods. First, between 1950 and 1973 (twentieth century); and second, during the years 2010, 2013 and 2014, (21st century). To this end, a corpus of 340 journalistic texts has been selected, of which 147 correspond to the 20th century (1950-1970) and 193, to the 21st century (2010, 2013-2014). The analysis shows that most of the frames are linked to conflicts, criminal prosecutions and arson attacks; so that El Mercurio prioritizes connotations and negative events to inform about the Mapuche indigenous people.

The essay develops a description of the corporate and business criteria crystallized in the thesis of «corporate governance» embraced by the Anglo-Saxon academy from the deregulation of the Welfare State. Soon the new management will have effects in the Latin American University having a new paradigm linked to the rational choice. This article focuses on the results of a research on the concept of critical reading of the media in school coursebooks from seventh grade in primary school to second grade in secondary school, by considering the point of view of the communication and educational areas. The aim is to know the concept of critical reading that is present in the coursebooks given by the Ministry of Education, in order to establish the levels of media alphabetization that are given by the several contents and activities inside the learning resources. The results indicates that the methodology proposed for the teaching of the media’s critical readings in coursebooks focuses on an education “through” the media, by emphasizing the functional and instrumental level of the media in all of the coursebooks that were analyzed.

This article presents a preliminary exploration of the history of periodical publications that emerged in the city of Camagüey between 1899 and 1935, a period marked by significant sociopolitical, economic, cultural, and communicational transformations. The main objective is to analyse the chronological development ofthese local publications within the chosen timeframe, to understand their characteristics and adaptability to the new context. Using a qualitative and descriptive approach, the study employed historical-logical and analytical-synthetic methods at the theoretical level, complemented by bibliographic and documentary analysis at the empirical level.
