From the birth of a child, he can learn and develop. Adult caregivers and the preschooler teacher play a crucial role, knowing the child in action to offer a safe, enriched, and suitable environment. This article presents an analysis of the concepts of care/ education and theories of learning and development through different theoretical frameworks. It also makes them know how the teacher can use simple tools in class to promote children's education through projects. To the extent that adult caregivers, including the teacher, identify the needs and interests of children and know how the child learns according t...

This research aimed to examine the enhancement of soft skills in public education in Peru through analysing non-profit organisations’ techniques at the school level. The objectives were (a)To understand how the quality of education in Peruvian public schools assures the development of soft skills, (b)To explore the potential of non-profit organisations in supporting the development of soft skills in public schools. Interviews with three non-profit organisations and a government official, alongside reports, were analysed based on an OECD model. The findings include government initiatives that indirectly develop soft skills, but management issues might lead to teacher-centred rather than student-centred methodologies, deterring skills development. Unfriendly environments characterise vulnerable areas for skills development; non-profits become supportive disruptive spaces to cultivate val...

The study of Neuroscience and The seven Learnings introduce Neuroscience as the new paradigm that enables to analyze and explain the intelligent human behavior. The discoveries found in this field have been shown not only in the theory but in the pedagogical practice as well. In the first case, one of the most recent theories about intelligent behavior has been conceived from the perspective of neuroscience (science that studies HUMAN BRAIN). (Beauport and Diaz, 1994) This study has given more relevance to the relation between the function of the brain and human behavior as well as the conditions that lead to an efficient teaching – learning process. In this context, we introduce The seven Learnings, described by Edgar Morin that state central problems which have been ignored and that are necessary in order to reach a successful teachinglearning process in this century. These seven Lea...

The objective of this research was to determine the predominant learning strategy that is related to the development of the autonomy of students belonging to the seventh semester from a public educational institution in Lima. It was developed as a substantive research and with a quantitative approach. Its design was non-experimental and cross-sectional-correlational. The population consisted of 171 students, to whom two questionnaires were applied. The results showed that the information coding strategy has more weight on the development of the autonomy of the students in question. Likewise, it is a risk strategy that means that a student who does not manage it, he will always present low levels of autonomous learning.

This paper is part of a bigger research that aims to understand how professional education delivered through Project-Based Learning (PBL) affects self-authorship development on undergraduate students. This part of the project aims to evaluate self-authorship development of undergraduate students enrolled on PBL during four to five years. The method used was qualitative, transversal, with biographical-narrative approach. In deep interviews were the instrument for data construction. Nine students of different semesters voluntarily participate on the interviews. Data analysis were based on categories validated on previous research, using the software Atlas.ti as a tool. Results found that practical experience during professional education would exert different effects on students depending on their self-authorship position. In addition, found that PBL on its own is not sufficient to generat...

For a long time, J2EE has been the dominating framework for the development of business applications. This fact resulted in a rich ecosystem of tools, manuals, tutorials, etc. that explain different implementation alternatives or peculiarities. The incursion of .NET Framework in the business environment has generated a strong demand of application implementation under this architecture. However, the quantity and quality of documents available significantly differs from its main alternative (J2EE). This documentation gap is especially visible and worrying when the objective is to teach the concepts of Framework, from a teacher’s point of view, to the future graduates of the Information Systems Engineering program. This paper describes the teaching approach used in order to achieve the goal of having the students become familiar with this alternative framework and the usual model practi...

The study presented focused on analyzing the influence of project-based learning on the development of soft skills in four-year-old infants from an Educational Institution in Guayaquil, considering that based on a previous study it was determined that most children had difficulties in self-regulating their emotions, having a positive vision or showing empathy with their peers. This research considered an applied methodology, with a quantitative approach and quasi-experimental design. The study population consisted of 70 children from the initial education sublevel one, who were divided equally to form the control and experimental group. An observation guide was used as a data collection instrument that was applied as a pre-test and posttest to all participants. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group after the application of project-based learning activitie...

This paper aims at filling the gap regarding the need to incorporate self-efficacy in translator training programmes in a structured way (Atkinson & Crezee, 2014). It describes a learning experience implemented in the translation classroom aimed at developing students’ translation self-efficacy, i.e., their confidence in their abilities to translate (Bandura 1987, 1997; Haro-Soler, 2017a, 2017b). This experience included practices such as goal-setting as a motivational incentive, verbal persuasion, vicarious learning, and activities to promote students’ self-awareness. The results of an empirical-descriptive study performed to qualitatively and quantitatively assess this training experience from the participants’ perspective will also be presented. The results were obtained from an online questionnaire that all 15 participants were asked to complete and showed that, in their op...
