Over the past years, a change of feedback data in terms of quantity, quality, and timeliness could be observed in production. The generation of high resolution production feedback data enables producing companies to apply big data analytics in order to create competitive advantages. This paper describes how logistical models can be used to conduct big data analytics. It will be explained how such logistic-oriented big data analyses can be applied to improve the logistical performance of producing companies. The results will be illustrated with the help of a best practice project.

La competitividad proporciona mayores niveles de productividad, eficiencia y calidad, de ahí su importancia para medirla. Este trabajo presenta un modelo DEA para medir la competitividad de las manufactureras del sector textil peruano. El modelo propuesto consta de dos fases: la primera fase, mide los niveles de desarrollo de la calidad, innovación y eficiencia de las empresas; la segunda fase la competitividad de las empresas considerando su calidad innovación y eficiencia. Para ilustrar el modelo propuesto se usó el software SIAD aplicado a 16 empresas del sector de manufactura textil, y se muestra el ranking de las empresas por cada factor y por la competitividad.

The present work has as objective to apply data mining techniques to develop a predictive model to forecast the chance of passing that will have a college student at the time of enrolling in a particular subject. Given that the academic record of the student can be known, and based on that information, we propose an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) that allows, using various configurations, to predict and assess our goal. The model has been applied to a compulsory subject of higher education of a University and given the results obtained. This model can be applied to any other subject analogous with satisfactory results.

Within the commercial sector, SMEs represent more than 90% of all companies; they are responsible for 50% of GDP and generate between 60% and 70% of employment worldwide, which is why they are critical in the Peruvian economy. However, through an exhaustive review of the literature and sectoral analysis, we concluded they have a high risk of failure in the short term due to various problems, such as poor inventory management. In the sustainable tourist sector today, there is a wide margin of loss in small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) because of a poor control in logistical expenses. This study aims to evaluate the future of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Peru, using the Gompertz nonlinear regression model. The data were obtained from official reports of the Peru Ministry of Health (MINSA). The accumulated value of fatal cases was subjected to iterative analysis by the non-linear least-squares method to achieve a model. Given the first-order derivative of the predictive model was obtained the daily fatal cases curve. Using the fatality rate as the proportion between infected and fatal cases, both of them would also provide days average lag to estimate the epidemic curve. For the moment, the predictive model suggests that Peru would be in a slow descent in the epidemic curve, moving away from the peak of contagions per day. This article proposes a data quality evaluation model developed on the primary basis of the ISO/IEC 25012 standard, applied to a University Academic Management System, to improve data quality. The proposed model is developed from the perspective of the data consumer and the vision of inherent data quality. The sample consisted of the data stored in the Academic Management System of the Universidad Nacional Micaela Bastidas, Apurímac, Perú, with 22 tables, 154 attributes, and 319 685 records. Activations of streams, known as Landslide, are natural events that cause considerable damage to property and infrastructure, causing losses of around 5 billion dollars, which negatively impacts the economic stability of the country and the people. In this work, a predictive analysis model based on machine learning is proposed to predict the occurrence of Landslide in Chosica, Peru. The model was trained with data from hydrological and meteorological sensors and was able to identify behavioral patterns of the landslide with an accuracy of 85%. This study demonstrates that the proposed model is a viable tool that can perform an acceptable prediction rate with low error control.

Busca realizar predicciones y ajustes de datos longitudinales y de supervivencia usando modelos jerárquicos dinámicos. Modelos para datos longitudinales y tiempo hasta ocurrir un evento de interés son propuestos en el contexto de modelaje conjunta. Estructuras de regresión diferentes para los datos longitudinales son presentadas con evolución basada en modelo linear dinámico jerárquico generalizado. La función de riesgo asume forma paramétrica y semiparamétrica. El procedimiento de inferencia es desenvuelto usando abordaje bayesiano. Cuatro conjuntos de datos son usados para ilustrar las metodologías propuestas.

Water resources availability in the southern Andes of Peru is being affected by glacier and snow retreat. This problem is already perceived in the Vilcanota river basin, where hydro-climatological information is scarce. In this particular mountain context, any water plan represents a great challenge. The information that flows in the justice system, particularly in Peru, is not shared in real time due to the heterogeneity of its information systems and platforms, generating excessive delay in the judicial process.
